All thin white women aged 18-22 who like shoegaze owe me sex.

been a few years since I popped in one of these. I can feel myself growing out of shoegaze more and more with each passing year and nowadays reach for ambient drone or slowcore/dream pop in my downtime instead. I really miss it though. I don't have much energy for it anymore, I wonder if it'll all ever hit as hard again : (
maaaaybe, definitely has more of a city pop influence I'd say. Dream pop usually feels a little more full, there's a lot of space in the mix here. I mean you can call anything anything though genres are not that rigid

I feel this user, I haven't been listening to as much shoegaze lately either. I think just let it come back around to you in its own time and it will hit hard again. Go after what's interesting to you and don't feel bad about it!

>have to find out about this apparently very popular band through TikTok, not through RYM or this place Wtf guys…
This has been my favorite find so far. Interesting blend of influences throughout. Strong 90's altrock base, some washed out George Clanton synthpop, even some use of blown out hyperpop-esque production at times.
Won't be for everybody but it's easily one of the most unique shoegaze albums I've heard in a while.
Their second didn't have the same feel. I was disappointed. Glad I got to see them on the Tesseract tour to hear all the good ones live

Why do people hate shoegaze so much? Everyone always shits on it.

>wear my feed me with your kiss shirt out >get compliments from art hoes and soft goth chicks >dont really even listen to much straight up shoegaze anymore, outside of whirr and no ioy >moved on to black metal >deafheaven, autumn for crippled children, flight of the sleipnir, thou, ghost bath, etc >i am a fraud
I wear my cocteau twins shirts to metal shows all the time. just get averted glances from big hairy guys lmao

>Loveless >Polysomn >Jesu >As the Morning Dawns... >Despondent Transponder >Sway Color me jelly

Sway and Jesu were amazing finds in the used section at my local record store, and the ending of an bat none off polysomn sounds so loud and dense. Post from finland took forever though.
mostly been hanging out in the breakcore thread and the psytrance thread when it was up. listened to part of that victory at sea album you posted, which I really liked. I was just listening to some Wisp, and then I switched back to the newest upload on the k1d channel which I heard like 30 seconds of earlier, that Mindwar album which is what is still playing now. I'm a little bit adhd it's bad. u?

Nice, glad you like it. Check out Carousel by Victory at Sea, it's a good follow up. For breakcore, have you heard of Ruby My Dear? Listening to pic related for the second time through to pick out the tracks I like. There's just so much music out there that makes it easy to go back and forth.
Yes I like Ruby My Dear! I found them off the Nerves of Time comps, which had another artist I really like featured, Le Perche Oreille, which is about the best I've ever heard in the genre. Haven't seen that album you just posted but I like that art a lot, will look into it. Probably gonna get off the computer for a bit here and make some food. There is indeed, so much music out there, isn't it wonderful?
I like this, lots of different vibes rolled into this. I wouldn't call it dreampop though.
Been gathering motivation to travel to Japan at some point to check out a bunch of concerts. There are several artists that have been involved in the shoegaze scene for decades there now and they've been making it grow a lot. Namely Cruyff In The Bedroom, and My Dead Girlfriend, have been involved a lot organizing different events.
Would be fun to seen a shoegaze idol group like RAY or a newly release one, Airattic. It's almost like they can't make music that sounds bad.
