Book you've waiting for finally gets a release date

>rush to your lcs to put it on your pull list
>get into a small argument about some characters with the clerk
>think nothing of it
>day of release the comic had been taken off your pull list
>the clerk says he doesn’t like those characters and you shouldn’t support them
>next week find out that clerk has been busted down to janitor services
>owner of the shop gets you your comic and even pays for the first issue

>Clerk explains that they have too many pull boxes and do not get enough books in each week to fill them.
>They cannot afford to bump to the next order number bracket because they will have too many issues leftover each week, they do not sell enough to make the change
>More important customers got priority over me for some reason
>They explain they will order more next week and i will get mine then
>I leave, never go back to that LCS ever again
>They now have even less business to justify orders

Places like that don't deserve your money.

Had something similar to this happen to me years ago.

>Go to a LCS that opened up a year or so earlier
>Start going more often but never made a pull list
>Start reading Forever Evil, shops has every issue on stands, no problem
>When last issue comes out, I go there to pick one up
>He has a huge stack of Forever Evil #7 on the counter, the entire weeks order right there, 30 copies in a large tower next to the register
>I ask to get one
>He makes a face and then says "No, sorry we're sold out of it"
>I think he's making a weird joke or something, start to pick one
>He stops me from touching one
>What?
>He then tells me these are all for pull lists, and does not have any spare copes after the pull lists this week
>So fine, I want a pull box, how can I get one?
>Does the same "Yeeeaaaaaaa..." face
>"Sorry I have too many pull boxes right now, I cannot get any more or I will have to increase my weekly order to the next minimum category and I cannot afford that"
>Hands me a sheet of paper with some names, it's a wait list for a pull box in case someone else drops theirs
>I leave, never looked back

If he is not going to order enough for his customers and not going to bother with any new customers then I don't need to waste my time

LCS are full of the broken dreams of people who thought they could make a living in their hobby.
These people have to sell Magic and Funko just to feed their children.

Diamond has specific retail order brackets? You cannot just order 25 copies of a book because you only really sell 23-24 copies of it in a week?

Yes, for context I put Spider-Man and Deadpool on my pull list and picked up Volume 1 of Ostrander’s Suicide Squad. Clerk tried to sell me on New 52 because “the Art is better and it has Harley Quinn in it.” I told him no thank you and that I’m not really a fan of Harley. He didn’t take it well I guess.
This was back when my LCS was a small section in the lobby of my local cinema
