Actually The Simpsons, The Loud House, Dalmatian Street and the Boondocks are full of romance episodes. Only problem is that they're handled too much like a status quo comedy. Even when the characters finds The One, he just gets reset again, despite the fact the dialogue said "I want to be a main character" nope. And often times 10-20 minutes is far too little to do anything interesting beyond short gags.

In fact the only love interest which ever became a recurring character was Fiona from Kid Vs Kat. Every love interest usually fucks off after 1 episode no matter how lovable they're written.

It's sad how comedy cartoons executive simple ideas with much more creativity in just 10-20 minutes while cheap movie writers take a simple idea and execute it even more boringly in 90 minutes than the cartoon show equivalent.
