Broad strokes are definitely easier, especially in the big two clusterfucks. And again, pretty sure the effort would be wasted on an audience that ultimately doesn't care about timeline matching so much as internal consistency.

Morrowind is old enough that it would need a straight remake, Spyro/Crash style. Unfortunately, Bethesda is an absolute shitshow right now, so don't get your hopes up.

I guess "shaming" is the wrong word, but Warren does spend a lot of chapters trying to guilt trip the audience for fapping to Emp's predictaments. And then, there's Ghost Writer.

The FF7 remake looks interesting to me because of the new battle system. That and Tifa.

Video game remakes are interesting in that due to the nature of the medium, people are usually okay with them because the interactive element can be objectively improved. There's nothing about technology that would make The Great Darkness Saga better, for example. But something like Metroid Zero Mission is a flat out improvement over the original.
