It wouldn't be very effective if he still had his 10 minute limit, as his kryptoian body wouldn't have enough time to absorb enough sunlight to get to Superman's level.

Once word of Alien X got out there'd be a lot of concern with a teenager having that much power, the Avenegers and the world would be pretty divided on whether or not to trust him.
But in DC it wouldn't be a problem.
Superman would just tell everyone he can be trusted and Batman would explain that he's build a device to destroy the omnitrix just in case. And both of them would be right.

This story really depends on context. Is Ben getting the omnitrix at 10? How fast would word get out? When in both DC and Marvel would he have even have found the blasted trix? Could he have even found it before the earthly and galactic powers that be caught wind?
