They could have at least have Mao play off of her weaknesses to show they might have had a deeper connection in the past if he's the only one who knows how to exploit her failings in the chases. That would have easily given the audience more reasons to care about her and her past connection with Mao. Instead, they just sort of half-assed it and had her wipe the floor with him with her illusions.

There's a lot more to a character than their backstory. Her leaf jutsu is overpowered and was not shown to have any downsides. She spent the whole episode styling on him and then left. We don't know anything about her aside from "she's so cool and better than Mao Mao."

Right, there was that. A side effect of that being that the homosexuality the fans pushed onto him got called into question and the salt from a real confirmation would be tremendous.

We barely got to learn about her as a character aside from her connection to Mao Mao. What would it take to outsmart her? Does she have some stupid Batman-like code that prevents her from taking certain actions despite her disregard for conventional rules and laws? Is she a jazz or hard rock type of girl? Sure she's sassy and confident as she has every right to be but is that enough? Personally, I don't think so. It's clear a lot of love was put into this show and I trust Parker Simmons to do her right, I just wish we got a better taste of her in her own episode.

I thought postmodernism had more to do with deconstruction of ideas and criticizing sincerity. Mao Mao as a show seems pretty sincere (and so does Mao Mao as a character, actually).

It has deconstruction of ideas down; Mao's traditional code is often challenged and the sweetiepies themselves reference and parody Carebears. In postmodernism's "everything sucks" conclusion, there is a new level of empathy and sincerity. True, television went down the path of nihilism and cyncism as the default in the 90s, but what came after more closely represented the postmodern reality.

I was actually reading an essay the other day talking about how television has made everything more cynical and self referential. People are not easily impressed anymore and want the content they watch to acknowledge how lame everything is. It makes you realize how much more heroic and likeable Mao Mao seems when he lives in the world he does with the mindset he has.

Wait, hold up. Badgerclops's arm is wholly prosthetic. It begins and ends in machinery and just holds tools or is a hand. Ramaraffe's neck is different as it begins atop at her (presumably) still non-augmented shoulders and ends in her head. The prosthetic connects 2 pieces of meat. She clearly eats with her mouth like in the attached picture, so does she have a robo-esophagus in there? How does her spinal cord connect to her skull? Her head extends far further than (presumably) her species necks normally can, so the neck can't be using/encasing her original spinal cord.

They seem to need to eat though, and when beat up, get bruised. These would indicate they are at least somewhat made of flesh. I wonder just how augmented they are.
