Hyper in general is about the platonic ideal of a concept rather than a depiction of reality. It’s hunting a tiger instead of a deer.
Beyond that is even more simple reasons, some men prefer tall women, some men venerate fitness. I would say the classic ‘muscle girl’ fetish is a fairly niche and “off program” kind of fetish, revealing more about individuals and the flexibility of taste rather than men as a whole. Obviously liking a bit of tone or even a fair amount of muscle is quite normal, but once you get to the full on body builder aesthetic, it’s something else.

you can definitely see this split most clearly b/w the two main camps of fatfags. I've been saying for years that a huge portion of fat art functions exactly the same as inflation stuff, the artist just replaces the perfect inflation circle with a more abstracted blob form as the ideal. nothing has to be interesting about the proportions in these pics, they all have the same maxed out template. this leads to thousands of boring drawings and unsatisfying weight gain sequences that skip over the best parts (not to mention artists tend to ignore anatomy and have no self control)
on the other hand you have fatfags who are basically just normal weight gain fetishists - they invariably produce better art because they actually enjoy the whole process, not just the end stage

We have a similar problem with femuscle art. Most of it's just ridiculous biceps with no thought to how actual muscles work. It's only in the past 5-10 years that we've had artists who actually know how musculature works.
