His music stopped being "chill" and "aesthetic" which was the reason why he had a trendy zoomer/hipster/indie girl fanbase in the first place. They thought his music was vibey and wavey and totally sick brah so they werent into the stripped down acoustic slow paced sounds as much as his wonky guitar/synth stuff

Nothing went wrong, no matter what his fans were like what matters is his music has always been genuine and very good. Here Comes the Cowboy was not as good as his other stuff but maybe he'll come out with a new album one day. Everything he's made shows great talent and artistic vision on top of being a funny and relatable guy.

Had a super unique sound that went on to pretty much be it's own genre. It rubbed him a weird way so he started making folky cowboy music that wasn't as accessible. Now he remains bitter about being a pop industry factory product and collabs with LA Indie bands. He continually pumps out dirty singles that capture what influenced him in the first place, Steely Dan and Yellow Magic Orchestra 80s shit.

I would've thought so but having smoked before and after listening to viceroy you kinda get it. He's aware of the effects on his health and relationships but he deems himself past the point of return and is content dying that way.
