Overall, it was pretty great, though it certainly had its low moments. Comparing it to shows today makes me appreciate it even more, not to say that all shows today suck, but because of how unique the writing and humor was. Especially season 1.
Despite its low points, it managed to finish strong.

Fucking loved this show. My dad liked it too and noted the similarities with Beavis and Butthead. I agree the later seasons got more tame and the earlier ones were more lively and fun, but I guess the characters appealed to me enough that I could sit through the more character driven stories that started around Season 4 and got heavy into Season 6. Still bummed that they legitimately killed off Pops, it was a surprisingly effective move, otherwise the whole Lolliland powers and twin brother thing would have just been another event with no lasting outcome.
I want more dude cartoons but I feel like RS was the only one that can do what it did especially since the writing standards of 2010 cartoons were pretty rough and RS managed to skirt by. I thought it was nice that every park employee was a guy with not even a token female. Of course I'm not opposed to female characters but it was a nice change of pace and in this decade, dodged most of the bullet having them regulated to supporting cast. If only that SU crew member didn't mess with JG's original vision of CJ because she thought "difficult ex girlfriend" was misogynistic.
Still probably my favorite series this decade.

I found his difficulty with women cute and endearing but I agree they took it a bit too far at the wedding but I guess that was supposed to be the point, he had to fuck up so bad CJ left. Also he kind of got more dickish to Rigby towards the second half of the series but I felt like maybe the writers were taking the easy way out for jokes or drama instead of the casual bro fuckery at the beginning. He still had his moments and at least realized he was being a jerk usually. CN shouldn't have forced Mordecai into the graduation special.

I could never get into it. I was a big fan of Adventure Time and people seem to lump them together as "kid's shows that have surprising depth that adults can enjoy" but everyone in RS has such a stupid way of talking that I couldn't enjoy a single episode.

RS stopped getting reruns by 2015 if not in 2014. Fun fact, the series finale to this day has only aired once on CN, no rerun, no encore. AT and SU both had encores (SU for S5's finale and its movie this Saturday, even had a special encore promo rather than just reairing). I hate CN for fucking with the show.
