This is so fuckin weird. I wonder how it would have even ended up. The original was a joke about the romanticized aspects of cowboy westerns and westward expansion. I don't know how that concept works when your movie is supposedly inspired by a western parody but set in a samurai setting. There's not that inherent ingrained nature within the supposed western target audience, so would it have been the same jokes but with wasabi and sumo? Would that even fly nowadays?

Instead of the old west it could be a parody of Japanese Meiji-era expansion into Hokkaido but that's not accessible for the room-temperature IQs this movie wants to attract with fat butt jokes.
