>character is a possum
>in english countryside
this annoyed me.

Sword in the Stone is better.

It's really not, but it's pretty darn great

My ass. it's not even the best Animated Film of 2009.

Yes it was

Imagine never watching:
>Fantasia
>Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
>Allegro Non Troppo
>The Breadwinner
>Beauty and the Beast
>Akira
>Princess Mononoke
>Who Framed Roger Rabbit
>The Thief and the Cobbler
>Son of the White Mare
>The Triplets of Belleville

>Imagine thinking Wes Anderson makes good films at all.

He does have good credit though

Just pretend it is a Herpetotherium

>Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
>Princess Mononoke
Why did you list the same film twice?

>Wall-E
>9
>Coraline
>Secret of Kells

Hell, even the Totally Spies Movie.

You just named three good movies, and a bunch of weaboo/hipster trash.

Wes Anderson is a mixed bag more than anything. And Fantastic Mr. Fox is his best

And yet, even the weeb trash is better than what OP posted.

>claims something was hipster trash
>in a wes anderson thread

This is one of those movies I loved when I was younger and never understood why. I still don't know why I like it so much.

Fuck off, faggots.

>mixed bag
He's actually got an extremely consistent output for his range and auteur intentions. Chances are, you either more or less like everything he makes or hate all of it

Nostalgia is the only acceptable reason to like this movie.

Hardly, Myazaki is highly overrated and has spent his entire career making the same film over and over again. Akira is a hot mess of a film narratively and is only saved by its visuals. Can't say anything about the other weebshit since I haven't seen it.

the best thing about 9 was the song in the trailer

I bet you enjoy the films of Wes Anderson

>hot mess of a film narratively and is only saved by its visuals

Don't confuse a messy narrative with your inability to comprehend the complex and expertly crafted plot.

>Can't say anything about the other weebshit since I haven't seen it.

Then, you're uncultured and shouldn't be posting on an 18+ website.

Well that, and the fantastic writing and visuals.

For me, it's Fritz the Cat.

>Don't confuse a messy narrative with your inability to comprehend the complex and expertly crafted plot.
Don't confuse your blind love for a film as comprehension. The film itself is highly disorganized and leaves out a shit ton of information that is integral to the plot of the Manga. A film should be able to stand on its own without supplementary material and Akira simply can not.

Well debated, sir.

His only good film is Rushmore.

Animated? It's stop-motion, and it's tucking great, yes.

Stop motion and puppets count as animation on this board.

I Watch Just a couple of days ago

Is great, but I wish there where more of it

Stop motion is animation you sluts. Puppets arent but are allowed because Yea Forums is just a dumping ground for general children entertainment that doesnt fit other boards

You know, I was expecting some bullshit in this list as I kept reading, but nah, this is a damn fine list, user.

Don't slut shame me, user.

The writing (especially the dialog) is absolute crap though.

Think so? Why?

>Don't confuse a messy narrative with your inability to comprehend the complex and expertly crafted plot.
Oh please, it's a nearly incomprehensible adaptation.

too much smell your own artsy fartsy for me. I don't 'like bowlcut girl with wiccan choker' the movie

k

>he didn't like Life Aquatic

I like how he only did, like, two animated films out of his entire oeuvre and he suddenly becomes included among the animated auteurs like Bird and Lasseter...

He's almost made the same amount of movies as Brad Bird's number of good movies. Also yeah, cry. Shit piss and cum.

bump

Rango is objectively better in every way.

>A movie with completely different setting, character types, style of writing, structure, themes and even FUCKING MEDIUM is better or even comparable
Let me guess, are you an aspiring youtube critic?

>in english countryside
Was this version even set in England?

Did you not notice every human character has a British accent?

>every human character
Villains, yes. But all of them? Why not the animals?

its like a kids movie for childless adults who wear tweed jackets and drink red wine

For me, it's Petey

Attached: petey-will-return.jpg (577x1023, 184K)

Is there a less embarrassing alternative for an adult who watches kids movies?

Isle of Dogs

It's okay at best and a bastardisation of Roald Dahl desu.

Character detail aside, it was pretty shit

>Not the Thief and the Cobbler
Mr. Fox has a better story, but Thief and Cobbler pushed the medium. Shame about how it fell apart.

My favorite is Az Ember Tragedjiaha but Mr. Fox is definitely top 5

You know, there are films with good animation AND good stories. You don't have to just pick one!

Yeah but T+C has the BEST animation and would have probably had a solid story if it was allowed to be finished properly.

Animals don't speak English.

this

>if it's not made by our beloved corporate america it is automatically bad

bump

you're not wrong.

I just saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago. For somebody who hates dry British humor, this movie had some funny as fuck moments in it. And the message if the film is incredibly interesting, not even sure if I agree with it or not.
I just wish the plot itself was more interesting than it is. Definitely an underrated film, but by no means the best.

>"I thought you were my lab partner"
>"I am your lab partner!"
>"No you're not. You're just loyal."

Maybe it was just the delivery, but that exchange had my sides in orbit

Jason Schwartzman is basically God

Dude that's not the line

fantastic mr. fox >> isle of dogs

Call me autistic but whenever I watched neo yokio I always saw Arcangelo as sort of an anti ash

That's extremely based

wasn't the story actually a little dumb?
like I did enjoyed, but I wouldn't think recommending it to others.
Or I just didn't get the movie?

>fight me

okay, 3:15 pm
at the flag pole
after school
monday.

Fuck wes Anderson and fuck you, OP, you fucking faggot.

You wrote a bad song, Petey!

Fine movie. Worst adaption ever made in film. Completely tonaly unfaithful to Roald Dahl. Like a steak put through a meat grinder to make Wes Anderson flavored sausage.

I like his movies fine, but I loved the book first and it's a travesty what he did to it.

OP never mentioned any of this, faggot.
He simply said "best animated film of all time".
Which it objectively isn't as Rango still exists.

What makes the book so different? I love Dahl, but never got around to reading FMF. I do like the movie though. I think the message is told in a really interesting way.

Wrong. The greatest animated film of all time is Beavis and Butthead Do America

>Rango

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if those two movies happened in the same world.

Even only counting stop motion, Coraline, Aardmans Pirates and the Corpse Bride are better.

>Not Blood Tea and Red String

Based.
Also Rango.

It was [spoilers]kino[/spoilers]

You goofed

> Fantastic Mr. Fox
That's not how you spell Coraline, OP.
