I just now realized this is like the final scene of The Dark Knight Rises. Except Alfred can't toast Bruce from a distance because he's dead.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Gotham under the control of Bane right now? And his family is in danger? Why is he on holiday with his Not!Wife?

One of the previews has Bruce saying he's fine and Selina says she knows he's not fine. I'm guessing he'll be secretly depressed and feeling powerless because that's what King is probably going for. This false sense of happiness while everything he worked for is gone.

So has he tried to fix it? Like go over there to sort it out or is he just moping about it?

I'm sure he'll fix it. At the very least King has to get it settled so someone else can take over Batman and King can do whatever he wants on his BatCat comic.

Apparently they are at the beach to find something that will help them against Bane, but honestly it just sounds like a weak excuse for King and Mann to have Selina in a swimsuit and batcat on their honeymoon. I would prefer for Bruce to get in contact with the other bats to make preparations to get the city back as a team, but King obviously has other priorities.

However this is the final straw. Unlike most of you I admired Tom Kings run for trying something new. It really clicked with me.

Those were limited series that had no follow up. Batman is ongoing and there's a reason King is getting kicked off early. Whatever he's set up he has to take it to his miniseries and someone else takes over for Batman.

He was supposed to be on there for over a dozen more issues. So what'll happen is that he gets taken off Batman and finishes his run on Batman and Catwoman with Mann as the artist. Batman is currently double shipped but will go down to one issue a month after King leaves. I'd assume it'll be double shipped again after BatCat is done.

Jessica is in deep space and her "death" isn't even going to last that long since she's on the cover for the next issue and seems to be teaming up with a bunch of mystery allies. And the next issue is called "Afterlife."

Taylot said on twitter that it's not him. Tomasi doesn't want to follow King directly, but would be open to write a run after the next person. I don't know if Bendis wants the job or not.
