nice try fbi

*blocks op*

White magic

best part is u don't need a vpn either

The services you mentioned had permeated the public consciouness. SLSK is still (mostly) underground

probably because almost no one uses it compared to those other platforms

especially now that the mainstream has been all but entirely weaned off piracy by streaming platforms

go back to spotify, faggot

Piratebay is still going. The act of file sharing is not illegal, so it's hard for them to just take down the entire services.

>implying streamig services have most of the music available.

He said the mainstream. Quit just making up arguments in your head because you're on Yea Forums.

i was talking about the first line, arsehole

lol u big mad

ooga booga retard

i be flossin after i send user tips to big music corpos tellin them they shit is being illegally distributed on slsk. no more freebies for you poorfag!

zoomers suck at irony

millenials suck at everything

because normies don't know about it, let's keep it that way please

the answer si simple:
the public is diffrent

kek

go to sleep, there's school tomorrow

not all gen z are kids

I think my isp blocked it before but I moved so I'm good now.

also, people's what.cd

the precedent for cracking down on these kinds of applications was already set when metallica sued napster into oblivion, and so they don't need to do it again. there are so many other places dmca is violated every day and leaks are dropped that slsk is a tiny target in comparison.

You're right, that's gen alpha. However most Gen Z kids are below the age of 25.

>t. zoomer

Spotify subscribers don't even know soulseek exists I used soulseek for a decade but I got tired of my music listening having "workflow" involved like shit that's work ok and for what when I can just got to youtube or bandcamp or soundcloud and click play. So I'm off of soulseek now but I will say I could still find almost everything I was looking for in the past couple years when I did look on soulseek except for a few super rare things that aren't anywhere else either and that hasn't changed.

How does me saying that out me as a zoomer?

You’re allowed to share files with your frens

only a zoomer would care

You might as well be asking why yify is still a thing

forgot about what.cd, I wonder why they haven't gone after red and ops

I don't think it's one side like that, young people want to be older and older people want to be younger.

sided*

hopefully better opsec
would be really bummed if red went down

Most people don't know stuff like this still exists anymore. That and it's catered to rare and obscure stuff mostly, it's got plenty of live show recordings from soundboards so it's an incredible source for that.

Been using this for years without ever sharing files.

Based.

Kys fag

not enough people use it for it to be worthwhile going after anymore
that might change when spotify inevitably goes the way of the shitter but that probably won't happen for another 10 years or so

It's got some pretty rare shit, even music I released years ago on Bandcamp and then deleted sometimes pops up on it. So some guys from Yea Forums are definitely hanging out on there.

well obviously people on this site know and use soulseek way more than the general public, it's not a small obscure service but it's nowhere near what napster was
if for some reason streaming completely dies in the future though, that may happen and suddenly people will have an interest in shutting down soulseek
i'm just happy i live in a time where i can freely use it

It's pretty comfy. What's good is a lot of them are very thorough about the origins of the music like what CD or record it was ripped from and how.

you da feds cuhz

>Most people don't know stuff like this still exists anymore

We are going back in time to where people are uneducated or scared of torrenting/P2P sharing.
To someone who grew up with youtube and spotify the "slsknet.org" website looks and sounds strange. Though even I use youtube a bunch these days, it has a lot of music now.

Shit quality though unfortunately.

I found it two months ago and couldn't believe it existed. I uploaded like 400mb of shit mp3s of Bandcamp music and then downloaded like 10 albums in a fervor. Wtf

My setup is this + an ipod

>been looking for this band's discography for months and found nothing
>one day check and this guy has everything in flac
>download it all and he then logs off and hasn't been back since
Was it God?

Were you /r/ing it on forums beforehand?

it was the one particular RED user who likes that band as much as you do _and_ uses slsk

It's P2P. how could it. just a client

CIAniggers glow in the dark
just drive over them, thats what you do

yeah but theyve got to store the user data somewhere (sign in auth, usernames+password)

if that went down and nobody could log in, it would be dead

>created by an (((Israeli))) programmer
Gee I wonder why that's the only one that's allowed to be online...

Thank you Israel?

wtf I love jews now

>dear music jews: please help me take down a decentralized p2p network that you've known about for 15 years

>nicotine+ patches with a different server
oh look at that crazy. just look at the pirate bay

this had to be bait

Yeah u do. Its torrenting

Or are you saying because you need to login its a private torrent thing so they legaly cant collect your ip

probably a honeypot, part of some marketing skunkworks, data gathering for the three letter chinese, russian

who knows
