Any Hype For The Owl House Or No?

So is anyone here excited when that show comes out next year? I mean, I've looked into it here and there in the form of fanart and screen shots, but I haven't really bothered much else.

So am I the only one showing any (mild in my case) hype for the show or is it flying under your radar? Feel free to chat about whatever about the show.

Hype
I’m hoping it’s the teen fantasy I’ve dreamed of
Mostly magic exploration and world building

Not really. Star vs was a steaming pile of shit, and Amphobia is mildly amusing but unremarkable. What does this have going for it?

EH. I kinda agree with that part about Star vs. to a way lesser extent. Honestly I kinda just skipped any episodes not featuring Eclipsa near the end. I don't really give a shit about Tom and Star breaking up. You could tell the creator was just trying to cover all the bases for shipping instead of just making up their damn mind.

I hope it does what Star kinda failed at. I want more focus on the world and the actual laws of Magic.

I plan to watch it. If it ends up really sucking, I’m prepared to drop it, but I fully intend to give it a chance and am looking forward to it. I haven’t seen enough material to fully convince me it’ll be worth it, though.

Basically this. All those delays don't fill me with confidence, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

I'll definitely watch it, but I think Amphibia is going to be the better show and the creative forces behind The Owl House don't give me a lot of hope.

It might be a Hotel Hazbin type of scenario. Obviously its not as Popular as HH, but they could be just waiting until they have their whole season done yet. That's probably how most shows do it .

Still, probably coping HH plan for release

I've already written a lot about Luz for crossover greens, so I'll give it a watch

Hotel Hazbin is not making an entire season. They’ve just been making a pilot this whole time.

I'm going to watch it, but I'm not particularly interested now compared to a year or so ago before the OP and much information was out.

I like the concept and the art style's pretty neat, but the OP didn't interest me much, I don't like that Dana Terrace's shitty ugly avatar might actually be a minor character, and Alex Hirsch having a major voice role struck me as stupid. I don't even hate Hirsch or GF or anything; it just felt overplayed or some shit and maybe too related to Dana once again putting too much of her personal life into it.

So yeah, no real hype anymore but still interested in it enough to see if it's actually good.

Writing on animated shows lately have been pretty mediocre, so not really. Art is pretty, I just feel like the script is going to be the most generic, "King says something that's evil, but he's so cute Luz just squeeealls and hugs him while he shouts 'No, I'm FIERCE!" type of writing around.

And before someone reads this post as me saying artists shouldn't use their personal life as inspiration or whatever:
>I just think using what might as well be her typical avatar (OMG LITERALLY ME) is just too blatant jerking off HEY I MADE THIS, it's also ugly as fuck design-wise, and it will literally be in every episode because it's in the OP. I don't mind little references to the creator/crew at times but this felt too far by my standards and dumbass aesthetic sense or whatever
>It just feels so obvious Hirsch (OMG MY BOYFRIEND) has the role because they're dating and it makes me wonder what will happen if they break up. Also his voice isn't exactly some obscure thing in cartoons nowadays and I sorta wish it was someone I'd never heard of before
>and yeah I don't like how blatantly it rips off Cubone (OMG MY FAVORITE POKEMON) but compared to the above stuff it annoys me less now

I guess I'd prefer influences etc. to be more spread out throughout the work than the entire premise the show is founded on, or something

It'll either make amphibia an after thought or be amphibia's after thought

Now that I know it's not made by Sabrina Cotugno (fuck off sveg for telling me this) and Alex Hirsch is involved, i'm all for it.

Regardless if it flops or not, what's got me looking forward to it, is doing whatever I want with the show and it's characters

>Listening to sveg
Did you not see the problem there?

Hirsch didn’t do a bad job voicing the characters he did in Gravity Falls, so I’m willing to give him a chance on just actually being a decent casting choice for the character.

>makes me wonder what will happen if they break up.
It’ll make convention panels way more entertaining that’s for sure.

Amphibia has lots of humor, adventure, and character work that isn’t melodrama. That’s what has been setting it high tier for me, the lore is just a nice touch. I’m worried about Owl House because so far all the conversations have been around lore or shipping, which is all Star VS was, nd that’s not a good sign.

There’s already one show on Disney that yurifags like to obsess over, another is just overkill

No. How many high-fantasy comedies do we need this year? God damn. I understand people like this type of stuff, but it's over-saturated to the point where like 70% of currently running or premiering shows are high-fantasy.

In a way, I'm kind of glad The Owl House got pushed back because I had a feeling it'd quickly overshadow Amphibia so I'm glad the latter got a chance to shine.

i had no hype, then Cotugno left the project and now i'm kinda interested.

>another cartoon about a 'self assured' teenaged female lead with copious amounts of yurifag bait
Pass

Who is this ryouko rip off ?

Problem is they all pitch for a show because there is a trend and suddenly 5 shows with same theme is in production and its kinda hard to stop midway.

I think it looks like fun, though I don't know anything about it beyond watching the intro.

>Who is this ryouko rip off ?
You mean Ryoko?
From what I've read so far her name is Eda. Never pay any attention to this show till now. Looking at the stuff for the show I thought I was getting a Ryoko vibe off her by looks. Looking on the net it seems I'm not the only one. Your post reaffirms my feelings on it if Ryoko. If they are doing a "not"Ryoko then my interest in the show has gone up.

>ryouko rip off
I'd sooner call her a homage design.

Yeah, that's usually how modern day cartoonists get away with "ripping things off".

When's this releasing again?

2020 I believe (if it doesn't get delayed again)
>Sabrina Cotugno is not involved
That's because she's off working on her own show, I dread the horrors of the mind of something like her.

Honestly, I don't understand why many here are against this show. Production? Last year, Rachel Vine accidentally said in an interview that The Owl House will released in October 2019. Dana Terrace claimed to fans that the release will take place in 2019 due to BIG announcements. Teaser, main title, voice cast and sneak peek (NYCC). January 2020 on Disney Channel. Sabrina Cotugno? She started developing her own show.

I'll see how much /ll/content it creates first

Eh, at least her horrors will be properly contained in her gargabe show (that is if her show gets greenlighted by Disney at all, let's remember she wants to make a show about a girl knight who goes around kissing girls as a fucking thot).

What’s wrong with her face?
