ITT: Incorrect stuff you used to think about Yea Forums characters

I always thought the Anti Monitor just had pretty big fucking teeth. I'm pretty disappointed now that I realize it's his real body's skin.

Yeah I thought it was baleen

It's not his teeth?!

I love his design even more, now I know this.

I never really knew who Carnage was besides having the toys so I used to think he's what would happen if the Venom symbiote bonded with Peter again because he was red.

This is hard for me to visualise without thinking of them as teeth. Do we have an image anywhere what it looks like under the apparatus?

here's a look where it looks more like skin

That's not his teeth????

Don't have that, but there's plenty of art where it does look like mouth
I think big teeth, like a beak or something, is better.

Ultimate Spider-Man game and cartoon went with that explanation, though. It was later retconned back, but you were right.

i always thought sandman was norman osborn's secret supervillain identity and that the reason he became sandman was because he fell into a vat of radioactive sand like how spider man got bitten by a radioactive spider

When Supergirl rip his original armor off he was just a mass of Kirby dots.

Holy shit never thought i’d actually be one of the idiots in these threads. I always thought they were teeth

I figured he was like one of those whales

i never really knew the he man lore so when i got some of the toys i half assed the story
>skeletor rules over the world as a dictator inside his impenetrable fortress known as castle grayskull
>gets dethroned by king randor, who then brings peace to the land
>skeletor gets kicked out, gets his power taken away from him and is forced to snake mountain, where he rounds up all the uncivilized monsters and makes them civilized so they work for him
>when he man uses the sword of grayskull, he pulls from some of skeletor's former power
>his big evil plan is to take back the throne so he can have castle grayskull back

Oh, so it's still a mouth.

based!

bump

Compare this to the other Skeletor/Castle misconception from, like, last year, where Skeletor was just mad about He-Man being in his house.

I also used to merge characters together. I thought Iron Man was Captain America when I was really young. I barely remember why I thought this but more media came out over time and it became impossible to think they were the same person

I actually thought spider-man had organic web

I thought Spider-Man killed Uncle Ben. I thought this was how he got his no kill rule and his Uncle Ben guilt. I blame the Spectactular Spider-Man show for making the burgular have a similar model to Uncle Ben

Same here, I watched the movies.

I stumbled across fanart before watching the videos. At first I thought the heart was a police badge, so I thought he was some skeletonized detective that investigates the blatantly supernatural crimes.

Always thought Sabretooth was Wolverines dad

Why, would you think that

It was an arc for awhile with fake flashbacks and Sabretooth himself saying it, also it was in the show I think as well.

>i always thought sandman was norman osborn's secret supervillain identity and that the reason he became sandman was because he fell into a vat of radioactive sand like how spider man got bitten by a radioactive spider
Well Flint Marko is Norman's cousin

I remember seeing an image of Onslaught, and I had no idea who he was at the time. I knew who Magneto was, and his backstory, but nothing about Onslaught. So I made up that Onslaught was Magneto's father who was actually one of the strongest mutants alive because he could control every single form of material beyond just metal.

I was introduced to green goblin through the raimi movies, and when my brother introduced me to his comic appearance I just argued with him that he wasn’t the green goblin. Kinda had a shitfit over it.
Another one is Joker’s death in the BurtMan movie. I didn’t know it was a toy, I thought he was still laughing in death. My brother exploited that misconception too many times to count.

MY EYES! MY EYES!

I always thought Pearl was the leader of the Crystal Gems before they vocally said it was Garnet

I always thought Slade was Robin's father in Teen Titans, and that that's why they never showed his face.

I found out Hawkman's wings are basically useless, and that he flies using the harness.

Someone explain this to me?

as much as people like to bitch about this I actually like this retcon as it's just

I saw the intro for the original X-Men cartoon, and they showed Wolverine with static from his claws and I thought he had electric powers.

I thought Aquaman was a man made of water

N-th metal make floaty and reincarnation. Science, you know?

Was just now reminded of the anti-monitor while reading NGE

>exploited
how?

Whenever he liked, he would start imitating it just to scare the shit out of me.

Why isn't Perpetua in this pic?

Such a good fucking cover.

Or is that what they WANT you to think?

No writer after the 40s really gives a shit about the whole Hawk theme at all and focuses heavily on his whole reincarnation angle. And how he is super skilled form past lives etc.

I remember when I found out the wings did nothing and he technically did not need them I really stopped giving a shit. I used to think Hawkman was pretty cool as a kid. Guy wearing big fake wings seemed weird to me as a kid.

I used to think 90s Arcangel was just some guy who built some robo wings and then hung out with superheros.

lol i thought he WAS Magneto at the time

I'm glad I wasnt the only one who thought it was baleen

I thought Squidward was a squid

Cause she didn’t fuckin exist when Darkseid War came out

Of all the stupid retcons DC has been doing to the Anti-Monitor, they should retcon his lips and just make it his teeth. I find him creepier and cooler knowing that those are teeth.

Speaking of Crisis...
I'm gonna buy that expensive as fuck box set coming out because I'm a pleb and a sucker for things that look nice on my shelf. I also want that Akira box set.

i thought it was too.

I dont know shot about antimonitor other than he’s basically darkseid tier and also kind of meta about ‘the end’ and all that.

What are good stories with him I should check out?

>I thought Spider-Man killed Uncle Ben

In a way he did, with his irresponsible choices.

When I was young and played MvC I used to think that the bald man floating inside Onslaught was Lex Luthor.

So he has a big exposed area uynder metal covering, that's THEN covered up by more armour?

Original Crisis on Infinite Earths and...and...

Actually just read Crisis...

Same, user, though I'm currently torn between saving up for that or a limited Bone Boxset which has the whole series printed in color, with a bunch of extra goodies like pewter Bone Figurines.

Good
>COIE
>Sinestro Corps

He has a small role in Blackest Night and Brightest Day. And there's Darkseid War in which he's the main antagonist, but I wouldn't qualify it as good, except for some tie-ins.

For transformers I thought it was a civil war between cars and planes with cars being the oppressed and the planes being the oppressors

>saving

HA HA HA

i always used to think the reason penguin was evil was because he decided to be penguin themed but you have batman coming in flying around while penguin's stuck on the ground despite being themed after a bird

heeh

It's like Darth Vader's helmet.

That dumb idea didn't exist yet.

FUCK OFF

I always thought Uncle Grandpa was the Capital God
