I agree with your point but you should've helped expressing it like an utter fucking retard
That one minotaur villain from Jason Aaron's Thor run. It's pretty weird how forced he is when he basically becomes a Captain Planet tier villain after his first few appearances.
>dude he's the ultimate god of darkness who has existed before the universe even began
>he created all of the symbiotes yes ignore that this retcons their history for like the tenth time
>he's invincible and all he does is fight and conquer and he has a big powerful dragon
>even the Silver Surfer has trouble against him because he's just that strong
isnt that almost every green lantern villian?
This looks and sounds like a Snyder villain. He has the habit of busting out an ultimate evil at the drop of a hat with zero build up and zero moments of character exploration. The characters never take any time to reflect on the immensity of the danger. Everything just clashes and ends quickly, leaving behind a feeling of weightlessness and unimportance.
Say what you want, at least he's being built up well in his event. Got to give props for keeping him as something that is talked about, but not outright seen.
Yes, but this time it's different because we are retconning CoIF hard and making the Anti-Monitor a good guy.
>making the Anti-Monitor a good guy.
Catch me up on this shit
>Forced Villains
Thats a flawed concept.
Villain exist so they can be defeated and to make the heroes look good.
>Under any circumstances you should never ever try to create a new threat, instead just keep recycling the same shit over and over
I see, nice input user.
He's not tho
No he's not. He's being shoehorned into everything without any logic as to why. This is why ancient evils never work out because they come out of nowhere and don't even fit previous canon and we're supposed to think they're a great threat. Then again we've seen plenty that have more subtle starts as the ones behind the scenes and then they never amount to more than that. Writers need to start something and stick with it and not just blow their load all over the place from the start.
He's only appeared in Venom-related books and a Silver Surfer mini. I agree that he sucks, but implying he's the most forced thing in Marvel is a fucking retarded exaggeration and in Absolute Carnage he feels like an real, incoming threat.
>Yes, but this time it's different because we are retconning CoIF hard
You're forgetting Johns' stupid "Anti-Monitor was a random Qwardian who was possessed by the anti-life equation" origin. If anything Snyder with his reincarnation plot point to fit the differing origins together was trying to salvage that.
Basically it turns out there was an original multiverse even before the Pre-Crisis multiverse. It was created by Perpetua, a goddess who wanted to create a realm of chaos and super warriors she'd use to conquer other multiverses and take down the Source. The Monitor, the Anti-Monitor and the Forger were her children. However, believing she was wrong, they betrayed her to protect the multiverse, sealing her with the Source Wall. However, that resulted in the anti-matter universe which was a realm of possibility on the frontier of the multiverse becoming a deadend realm without potential. The multiverse was rebooted and the twin monitors reborn into their pre-crisis origins.
The reason the Anti-Monitor turned against the Monitor and wanted to destroy all other universes was because he felt betrayed by that plan.
Anyway, in the present, the monitor and the forger want to join with the Anti-Monitor to take down Perpetua again. It's not clear that he's joining them though, but it has been shown that he is working on a plan alongside -Aquaman- out of all people.
Don't defend this character. He's being pushed as this ultimate and unstoppable evil. There's nothing about his usage that comes across as natural. This is why he's been in lots of threads like this.
>-Aquaman- out of all people.
i've seen wolverine devise a plan to take out an infinity gauntlet wearing thanos. tell me more.
Yeah, I really didn’t like how they had three issue of him in Immortal Hulk, and how Spencer made him responsible for OMD, or how he’s shown up as a mega threat in Avengers and Champions.
Oh fuck, wait, none of that happened. He’s only appeared in Venom and SS: Blacked, I guess I didn’t realize just how huge those books were, I mean, they completely blanked the rest of the ongoing comics right? Or could it be you’re blowing things completely out of proportion? It’s like bitching that the Batman who LMAOs is in everything DC is currently making when in fact it’s just false.
Personally I like how Knull’s and The Grendel’s weakness was established very early on in the run, lightening due to the fact that Thor was the first thing to really push him back and stop him after he came back.
Congratulations on liking Knull. I also like things that most people don't.
There's difference between liking something and not seeing through red-tinted goggles.
Remember that shitty massive Superman family line crossover that was affected by this anime AIDS? At least he is forgotten.
SYNDER SUCKS
You forgot the GOTG, since Cates not so subtly tried to force a retcon with Wraith by associating him with Knull.
>This is why ancient evils never work out because they come out of nowhere and don't even fit previous canon and we're supposed to think they're a great threat.
Nyx worked because 1) she was over by the end of the arc, and 2) she's a Marvel Greek goddess who was imprisoned and her reach, while large, could be fairly contained. Meanwhile Knull is literally "I EXISTED BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE DID AND I ALREADY CAN KILL CELESTIALS AND I'M GOD OF THE VOID" completely ignoring Oblivion.
Either way you look at it, he's just not a compelling villain and falls into the similar trope of being forced as this major threat. This isn't the first time this has happened and even show's DC's version.
boards.fireden.net
And here we see an ongoing theme of Knull not being well received on here since 2018.
We don't really know more. The Aquaman stuff was a tease at the end of the last issue. We just know he's working together with the Anti-Monitor now.
>okay guys! I have the next big thing for Batman!
>okay Scott, what do you have for us?
>Okay, so, there is a Justice League, from the DARK MULTIVERSE!!
>Oh you mean the crime syndicate! I like it Scott we can-
>who the fuck is the Crime Syndicate? That’s a stupid name, now this is an evil version of the JL from an evil Multiverse
>yeah, the Crime Syndicate, From Earth 3....
>why are you being this way!?! It’s not something stupid like that okay!? Just let me finish!!
>okay okay....
>So, this version of the JL, they are ALL Batman!
>you mean like.....Venomverse? That wasnt that good Scott, even Venom fans didn’t like it..
>What? No no no, they are Batman, who have ALL the powers of the JL!
>........
>A cyborg Batman!! A Goes Fast Batman!! A Batman with a lantern ring!!!
>I hate to ask, but....what about their version of Batman?
>oh that’s the best part!! He’s The Joker too!
>.....
>he’s a Batman who laughs!!! Get it!?! Because Batman NEVER LAUGHS!!!
>Yes he does Scott, how does that fit your theme-
>lalalalalalala I can’t hear your negativity!!
>fine, when can we have the scripts written out?
>already done! Yeah I wrote this when I was like 14 or something, I don’t know.
Batman who LAMOs is waaaaaaaaaaaaay more forced that anyone else ITT
Nyx also had the benefit of being in a good story. She came across like an anime movie villain. They come in and are seen as this massive threat, have their little group of helpers, get defeated and are never heard from again.
It’s best New 52 Superman is forgotten in general. This was the rendition were they had Superman go full edgelord without feeling any remorse for killing.
>>dude he's the ultimate god of darkness who has existed before the universe even began
He is a god of darkness - perhaps no more than an emanation of Oblivion - who existed before the present universe began. We don't know how long he existed - it could have been ten minutes. For him, it would have been forever.
>>he created all of the symbiotes yes ignore that this retcons their history for like the tenth time
They don't. They build on them. The camera just pans out each time. Next up: Knull was created by the Aspirants to destroy the Celestials.
I am not even kidding, it's better than even odds that that's gonna happen.
>>he's invincible and all he does is fight and conquer and he has a big powerful dragon
He was defeated twice in the first four pages he appeared in. He has spent billions of years as a helpless prisoner because his own creations think he's a douche. His dragon IS big and powerful... but not close to invincible.
>>even the Silver Surfer has trouble against him because he's just that strong
Silver Surfer is very powerful, but he's not invincible.
Compared to that time the Black Panther held him in an armlock this is nothing.
Knull is not that bad of a villain, even though he really is not a character; he has no personality.
There is niothing original or good about her. Even her name is stupid.
I don't know if you're Aaron or Cates but please go.
>He's being pushed as this ultimate and unstoppable evil.
Where? The Venom books? To Venom, he IS. The Sentry, on the other hand, would fuck him in the ass.
>Sentry
Who
>expecting Yea Forums to actually READ comics and not just parrot the same complaints over and over again
Knull is better appreciated over places like Twitter, where Cates has his army of bronies who really, REALLY love his stuff. They even went and made overpriced Knull statues and other merch (same as the other Cates OCs). It's a huge marketing push over one note characters whose main trait is looking cool in second rate stories.
>even though he really is not a character; he has no personality.
None of Cates' OCs have much of a personality:
>CGR is basically Deadpool and Cates himself rolled into one
>Vox (another can of worms) is Kylo Ren
>Cates' Thanos is Kratos from GoW
>Knull is only spoken through other people while he's all "I'm evil, look at me, child"
How does the biggest murderer in the DCU get a face-turn?
I am sorry that not everybody hates the same things you do.
Not that he's such a great character... but he's not that bad, either.
For the record, I despise Aaron with every fiber of my being and Cates sucking his cock is unseemly.
>Where? The Venom books?
In everything Cates is writing, which specifically entail Cosmic. I guarantee there's a Knull arc prepared right before he's off the book, just so the GOTG can job ONCE AGAIN to something, this time his other favorite OC.
You're the only one defending him and you're posting obnoxiously long responses to greentext. I have a better time believing you're one of the writers rather than someone on here actually liking Knull.
So, the two books and one mini then? Holy fuck, what an absolute madman
>Silver Surfer is very powerful, but he's not invincible.
Compared to that time the Black Panther held him in an armlock this is nothing.
The wrote said that Silver Surfer did that on purpose because he wanted BP to keep talking to see if he would say vital info, specially concerning FF location. When he realized that BP had mental discipline and wasn’t going to say anything of worth, he slams him down on the next page.
Remember that time that Silver Surfer jobbed for Cable in Cable and Deadpool?
And the event that had other one-shots building towards it. It might seem little but it's not like GOTG and Venom aren't flagship books.
I absolutely believe this is what happened.
I mean sure, we have all these alternate versions so yeah you could have more than one evil JLA but user is right, suddenly BWL is the face of DC villainy just by being Joker in a Batman mask with a Venom smile.
I don’t care about power level discussions. I am just stating there was actually a hidden story reason for why BP was able to armlock Surfer, confirmed by the writer.
>MANDRAKK
Now THERE's a stupid idea for a villain.
The only problem with Mandrakk was that he was introduced in a tie in to Final Crisis. Morrison should've found a way to make it part of the main book or at least made it clear that it was essential reading for the event.
>make the heroes look good.
Not necessarily.
All the little one shots, to me, are just extra Venom books seeing as how they are all titled Web of Venom. It’s like when ASM adds a decimal to their numbering’s for a tie in issue (16.1 for the Black Cat tie in to Hunted for example) but you do make a good point. Also, I’m not sure what entails something to be a “flagship” title, but I always assumed it would be a comic that never stops printing (ASM, Batman, Flash) I don’t believe either Venom or GotG are safe from ever stopping like the examples I provided, i could be 100% wrong tho.
I believe it too user, it’s a very uninspired character that DC has pushed right to the Moon. Roman Reigns level’s pushing.
I wasn’t following that comic at the time, but I hate it when a writer has to go back and explain stuff like this, just makes it sound like they are back peddling like Bendis did when he “Killed” She-Hulk with “Thanos killing missiles” but then just put her in a coma
There are villains like Grail, The Hood (Marvel) and Ragal Zarg who only persist because they are the pet project of their creators. The creator's hubris makes the villains OP, and when the plot requires that they fail, it isn't really a failure for them, just a set-back.
Ragal is a prime example. And the biggest insult about this particular villain is that his losses don't even make Superman look good, because Supergirl has been consistently taking the victories instead. Can you imagine the level of disrespect a writer has for a superhero? When the hero can't even succeed against his own villain?
That writer actually went on a rant about how comic book readers lack basic reading comprehension.
>This was the rendition were they had Superman go full edgelord without feeling any remorse for killing.
Source? New52 Superman never killed anyone as far as I know.
Trinity Wars
Gentlemen, gentlemen, I think we are ALL overlooking the most forced villain in modern comics.
Really, off the top of my head, I can't think of a villain forced more than this garbage. I know there has to be, but for the life of me I can't think of one.
>I believe it too user, it’s a very uninspired character that DC has pushed right to the Moon. Roman Reigns level’s pushing.
I really disagree. Metal has been DC's most successful even in the last years. The mini with Batman who Laughs sold better than the main Bat book.
He is being pushed, yeah, but it's clear that he is pushed because he is popular. This isn't a Grail or Rogol Zaar case where it's obvious no one cares when you look at sales but they keep being pushed due to being creator's pets.
It was full power, no TO virus Cable, though. That's like most-powerful omega mutant level.
>I don’t believe either Venom or GotG are safe from ever stopping like the examples I provided, i could be 100% wrong tho.
I see it as A-list characters who are famous enough to show up everywhere and their absence is felt immediately, and spinal cord books who support specific areas of the universe.
Like for instance, Avengers is definitely flagship, GOTG basically supports Cosmic (can't simply have a Thanos ongoing when he's just a villain supporting that entire side, neither Silver Surfer who keeps to himself in the deepest reaches).
They could stop printing GOTG if it ever dips below 30K issues but I don't see it happening, 40K is the baseline and Cates managed to stay around it, nothing more, nothing less.
user, before his mini even started DC was pushing him as a bigger thread than Darkseid.
No, a vampire monitor who eats stories - because META - is just stupid (and that might not be a good description, because I only read it once and don't really want to remember it any better than that).
Metal was clearly a Hawkman story that was rewritten for batwanking to sell more copies
>who has existed before the universe even began
Wrong, he existed before the Celestials started to create life where e was slumbering, and even that is debatable as for how myth becomes real in the MU.
>retcons their history for like the tenth time
The symbiotes really only had two big retcons, the one from Bendis (The symbiotes were a race of noble warriors protector of the Galaxy even though they tried to take over earth and every single one of them but Venom and some of its spawns were assholes) and the retcon that retconned Bendis stuff as being a lie (and put Knull as the creator of the symbiotes, where there was none in the first place)
>he's invincible and all he does is fight and conquer and he has a big powerful dragon
He keeps getting his ass kicked.
>even the Silver Surfer has trouble against him
SS made a fool out of him and it is not like characters stronger than SS weren't a thing before Knull.
I don't want to defend Cates, but your reasonings doesn't hold up. Especially the retcon part, that might be the best thing he did.
>We never find out who was the og Vox
This is the part that gets me the most. You make a villain made to wipe out a whole race of people but you don't give him a name? wtf.
Believe whatever you want. If I had my way Jason Aaron would never be allowed to write a comic book again.
Obnoxiously long responses? What, are your eyes getting tired from reading more than thirty characters, you awful millennial whelp?
He was symbolic: he stood for us, the greedy, parasitic reader who always demands more, more and more as we get more and more jaded and want more and more dark and edgy stories because nothing else gets us even a faint buzz anymore.
Eight issues instead of seven...
Well he was bigger than Darkseid at the time.
The whole mini dripped of spite and hate.
>Twitter
Every writer has a strong fanbase on Twitter, even Bendis and King, don't know why this should be a big deal.
>Wrong, he existed before the Celestials started to create life where e was slumbering
Actually no, the very beginning of Absolute Garbage describes him as something that existed before the universe existed, and he was already "ruling the void". Which absolutely makes NO SENSE but this is Cates we're talking about. I see that you and others are trying to describe him in a way that makes the character fit with the rest but the problem is, none of you are Marvel writers so this is effectively headcanon, therefore making the existence of Knull a contradiction to established lore until a capable writer after Cates sits down and explains that no, he's just an aspect of Oblivion, which indeed existed before everything else, not a Castlevania ripoff.
Because of how the guy behaves, it's like he thinks himself the new Liefeld. He directly engages with the fans constantly and discussions then throws his weight around, answering and canonizing everything over Twitter instead of putting it on paper. Better writers don't engage like this so explicitly.
I find her eyes to be super sexy
I haven't been reading AC, would you mind posting the page you are talking about?
Everything i said i've taken from his "origin" on Venom and SS Black, i didn't formed an headcanon over fucking Knull of all things.
It feels like Snyder is trying to emulate Ewing with the grand universal lore thing but doing a really shit job at it.
Defalco used to do that too, and i'd say he is a better writer than Cates without a doubt.
Even though stuff they say on twitter are just stuff they say on twitter, it isn't canon even if they think it should be.
He was mentioned once or twice in war of the realms
>Even though stuff they say on twitter are just stuff they say on twitter, it isn't canon even if they think it should be.
Ewing says this too, he openly refuses to canonize anything until it's in the page, and always replies with "maybe? I don't know, we'll see", even with things he KNOWS will happen (and do).
Fuck Ewing and his pets
What pets? Nyx was a collaborative effort and she was gone by the end of the arc. She likely won't come back.
>This will be my last post on Yea Forums
And btw he wasn't the only one who "created" her.
That is how Eddie retells what he heard from Knull who was speaking through his dragon.
This is the original sequence.
Fuck him for having a part in making her then
Ewing will bring her back like the hack he is
What do you have against her? This is fucking dumb, you know that?
But the lettering is red, isn't that Knull telling his own story?
So where is oblivion in all of this?
>isn't that Knull telling his own story?
In the original sequence, which I am posting, it is, yes. In that page from 'Absolute Garbage' it's Eddie.
Nowhere. I don't think the word "Oblivion" has been used in Cates' books beyond peppering dialogue to look edgier.
I hate Ewing in general and all his pretentious stories.
He's at home, washing his tights! HAHAHAHAHA!
Oblvion is outside existence. Acting is against his nature. But I think and have said before that beings like Knull, Nyx, the Chaos King, Entropy (perhaps), the Griever at the End of All Things, Hunger and, perhaps, even Death itself are either smaller parts of him, or the result of existence/ the multiverse interacting with Oblivion.
Your loss.
Remember, storytelling is all pretending, after all.
Da fuck? But he's the OG god of abyss/darkness/nothing. Matter of fact, has anyone used him recently or even mentioned him?
No, he's too busy referencing old comics that only he remembers, rewarding people for being long term fans, fixing the mistakes of other writers, and somehow also keeping it friendly for newcomers.
You are just salty that the one time he didn't get thrown under the bus by Marvel he got one of the most hyped books of the decade.
Okay, but I think it's a reach to assume that Eddie's retelling isn't the official backstory, because Cates isn't subtle about these things, they rarely have any nuance. If he's saying he's the God of the Void ruling over everything before creation, then he was (even if it doesn't make sense). Like in that page, he's talking about his abyss, his realm, like he's the only one. You can claim "well he's stupid because he doesn't know that" sure, but the story should account for that. Can't claim ownership over a space you know you don't fully own.
Oh okay that's perfectly rational of you, thanks for sharing.
Well, we have Rogal Zaar now.
Not that I remember, no. I know Ewing had plans with him back in Ultimates by making Thanos a herald of Oblivion (hinting towards that, not stating it), and Oblivion did appear in more than one panel leading towards something that could have happened, but we know the fate of the book. Fuck, if only he had already been this popular when he was writing Ultimates, we'd be having threads over fucking Ultimates^3 at this point.
I would say Bendis didn't create The Hood but his version is so far from how he was in the original BKV/Hotz mini that he may as well be an entirely new character. Out of all of Bendis' crimes against fiction the way he completely ruined the Hood is pretty high on my list of the worst of them.
>the anti moniter is a good guy now
fucking srsly what is wrong with dc?
You're somewhat right, it's confirmed that Chaos King is a part of oblivion but the other ones has no confirmed connection to Oblivion
'Unreliable narrator' is a classic storytelling device and we emphatically only got Knull's view on it. Notice he wasn't ruling anything - just floating in a fetal position.
It is both stupid and kind of cool how this is the explanation to the fire and sound weaknesses.
>He can kill Celestials like they are nothing, he killed like a dozen the first time he encountered any
What the I know Yea Forums, you told me this guy slaughters God’s by the millions, how come he’s only killed one celestial
It's just my autism desiring order and classification. Probably why I like Ewing.
And why I can stand Knull, which ties a bunch of disparate concepts together.
I liked the blade better when the only origin it has was that it was some terrible weapon of gods on a unknown world.
>pretentious
This. The American Kaiju are was trying too hard to be deep and came across as really pretentious. Ewing failed the make the EVA of comics in those pages.
Yea Forums doesn't read comics.
You know what killed countless Celestials? Godkiller, but nobody ever mentions that one.
This page never fails to piss me off. How the fuck are you going to kill a Celestial that has canonical appearances all over the Marvel Universe BEFORE he makes them? Jesus Christ.
>Unreliable narrator
I mean, every Cates story in cosmic so far is full of unreliable narrators until said story is confirmed, I stopped analyzing his bullshit when DOTI ended and left everyone puzzled.
And yes we only have his view but I don't see anyone contradicting him yet, specially the most egregious parts (like killing fucking Eson).
I know some people dislike this, but I'm a sucker for lore becoming intertwine. It's the reason I like Earth X so much.
Eh it was pretty fun though. I liked most of the dark knights. The metal story overall was kinda meh though.
No man you don't understand, American Kaiju was actually a meta representation of the fifth iteration of the multiverse in which everything was yankee-doodle. Ewing's own words!!11
>it just keeps going
Satan please stop before we get to Knull creating Extremis, the Super Soldier Serum, and the mutants and Inhumans. He's like MCU's Tony Stark. In fact, Knull is probably Tony's real father.
This.
>The time he made genetically altered grizzly bears that would kill all the natural salmon in the wild so he could sell more salmon
>The time he teamed up with the Dark Elves and got off scott free
Hopefully Hulk pushes his shit in and he never comes back. Hopefully.
>"IT WAS ME, MATT! I KILLED STICK AND RIPPED ELEKTRA OFF YOUR HANDS! GOD IS COMING, MY CHILD"
You can't kill a Celestial just by slicing off part of its armor.
Even when Sue Storm destroyed Exitar the Executioner, the Watcher stated the Celestials would manifest him again over time.
'Over time' turned out to be a few years or even months.
He killed one celestial and a unknown number of gods. By God's I mean creatures like Thor
Same here.
...I think you probably should have left that unsaid.
>god of symbiotes
>don't look like some eldritch abomination
>don't look like symbiotes at all
lame
>Be the minotaur
>Have goat horns
Hmmm.
>You can't kill a Celestial just by slicing off part of its armor.
And someone like Thanos can't just kill the Living Tribunal but here we are.
>Knull is better appreciated over places like Twitter, where Cates has his army of bronies who really, REALLY love his stuff.
I've noticed that normalfags really go nuts for Cates. The owner of one of the two LCSes in town is a normalfag and told me that Cates is his favorite writer. Nice guy and all but yeah.
Owner of the other is cool. Started gushing about Quantum & Woody when I bought a few of the TPBs once.
>I have unleashed my horde on a unknown number of worlds
>Didn't come across a thunder/lightning god in a single one of them
Horse shit
Look. Can I just ignore his bad shit and appreciate stories which I can live with?
It's not as if Cates was even the first to pull that nonsense. Jim Starlin does it all the goddamn time.
Practically literally what I thought. In any pantheon on a planet with a climate, you'd get a thunder god pretty fucking soon.
Reminder that he's also responsible for Wraith's powers.
>Ewing
>pretentious
This is like saying Christopher Nolan is pretentious
>I've noticed that normalfags really go nuts for Cates
It's kind of like the Aaron effect, where every normie likes him for Thor and go crazy over it while ignoring, you know, every other Thor story and writer that preceded him. In that sense, Cates does embody that normalfag feel where he outright neglects to read older stuff and sticks strictly to the "cool stuff", ignoring established lore and continuity because fuck that, just write whatever's dope, man!
Of course, how could I forget?
>“IT WAS ME, STRANGE! I CAUSED YOUR CAR ACCIDENT! I WAS ALSO ZOLOZ ALL ALONG!”
Maybe people only praise Aaron so much because of the quality of the previous run. Which run was that, the Fraction one?
Nobody cares about a character that was only relevant for one event.
The thing about these other forced villains is they're shoved in your face for one specific storyline or at least attached to one writer. With Knull, he's part of so many other things that aren't even part of Cates' or Aaron's runs. I can't wait until someone else gets a memo about their run's backstory now being tied to Knull and they're like "what?"
You notice how most of these forced villains appear to be created from a small social circle?
>Didio
>King
>Snyder
>Bendis
Immortal Hulk should handle this petty well
user, Batman who keks is far worse.
>hey shazam and supergirl writers, we are making the stars of your books villains. have fun.
What forced villain did King make? Or did you just toss him in there because you don’t like his Batman?
>cates: hey ewing, knull is the creator of hell now
>ewing: ...
You mean how Ross woke up after Carnage dug up his corpse? Because I got the feeling they'll only vaguely reference Absolute Carnage
Gotham Girl counts. A case could also be made about his Flashpoint Thomas Wayne Batman given how different he acts when compared to before but I'll stick with the chick who beat up Captain Atom like nothing
Considering how much of that book has been cleaning up plot holes from CW2, yeah.
Ewing has been put through a tile by fire with a lot of his books up until now having to bend over backwards to accommodate other people's stories. Eternity War is the worst example of this.
Wait we haven't seen Ross in Hulk yet have we? That series implys magic gamma woke up Ross and now it's implied Carnage did it
No, not yet. Ewing has done a pretty good job keeping Immortal Hulk contained and referencing outside events when he needs to. Like that one issue where they acknowledge Bruce will spontaneously come and go, stating that yes he did crash Ben's honeymoon because Puppet Master was pulling the strings. Best way I see this is Ross's corpse being transported from the Carnage mass grave by the US government, a lightning bolt strikes the escort, and that kickstarts his gamma healing again. That will be the extent of Immortal Hulk's mention of Absolute Carnage.
No, it was JMS if I'm not mistaken. But it also helps that Aaron has been on the book since 2012 so that's a lot of people who only know him as a reference.
No you're wrong, after JMS there was another writer and then Fraction was the big name attached to the Thor series.
Gillen came after JMS on Thor.
Ah so Thor was basically mishandled similarly to Strange was right before and after Aaron, I see. Not that Strange WASN'T mishandled by Aaron (oh boy) but at least he sold well, if that's a consolation.
So JMS, Gillen Fraction and Aaron
Fuck, yep alright, that one is 100% true, please disregard my post, King deserves to be in that little cult circle
What was his name again?
>even the Silver Surfer has trouble against him because he's just that strong
Surfer is just a jobber, so why would that matter?
Ragnol Zarr??? I honestly can't remember
Mr. Incredible.
RAGGLE FRAGGLE
Robert Car.
Shitty villains that should be forgotten besides maybe Morlun (his autistic crusade against Spider-Man was the only good part of Spider Geddon)
They should have used Shartha (or however her name is spelled) instead of Morlun for Spiderverse spidergeddon. She showed up first to hunt spider-man to bring him back for her children to feed on, with this we get everything that Slott has to add to Morlun to make that stupid fucking storyline work
>he is pushed because he is popular
And how did they do that? By stacking the deck and literally making him a mash up of their most popular hero and their most popular villain.

>Shitty villains that should be forgotten
That's almost literally what happened in the end. They're babies now, and it was stated they will not turn into the freaks they were before since that was all because of their awful dad.
>DUDE WHAT I COMBINED GREEN GOBLIN AND CARNAGE LMAO
>OH WHILE I'M LEAVING THE TITLE FLASH IS DEAD
Thanks Slott you stupid fucking bastard.
How can some people so retarded they dont expect Lex to backstab her at the end?
I'm rather expecting her to betray him and he joins up with the JL to stop her. It seems his friendship with MM has him set on some kind of redemption. But only because it suits him as well.
Part of the reason I hate Perpetua is because she undermines the whole "Lex is the underdog between his rivalry between him and Superman" by making him a half-Martian, hybrid, which then gives him powers that pretty much make him stronger than Superman by a long shot.
What dumb shit is this?
Symbiotes are now offsprings from an cosmic entity that comes from the universe before. Why dont writers just expand lore or create stand alone characters? No, he needs to be cosmic op and tied to one big beloved entity.
Andw hy cant symbiotes just be evolved aliens? This all limit their coolness factor. It feels just like Starro retcon with their "king".
Miles can hit him so hard that he shatters. A being we saw befor was fighting the celestials, thor. Why not just hit him and he gets knocked back so they can escape?
>And how did they do that? By stacking the deck and literally making him a mash up of their most popular hero and their most popular villain.
This also happened with CGR, but it also helped that they pushed him HARD through tons of variants across the line, then gave him not one but TWO miniseries one after the other, and now he's inserted in Avengers of all places. Quite possibly the most inorganic way to make a character look like it's super popular by shoving it everywhere.
How has this story even handled morrison monitors or the endless?
Morrison's basically ignoring it so he can have Hal Jordan team up with other lanterns across the multiverse.
Dream got fucked over by Barbatos, another forced villain nobody gives a shit about.
Batman should've had a jetpack or something, what a stupid cover. With such a strong threat, everyone would be running at close to top speed, theyd all be leaving Bats in their dust.
someone making sense of the necrosword and making symboites more relevant. No one gives a fuck about regular aliens unless they're tied to something greater. Look at any cosmic book that isn't tied to humans, a known recurring villain or an event. Stand alone characters are just that they stand in he background doing sweet fuck all after the run ends because their original creator is writing them anymore.
I'm surprised Cates didn't make the killed Celiestial's head being Knowhere

...go figure.
ah, well, not much of a issue, one less mystery.
Not quite, because he didn't put it in the page nor hinted at it, it's simply a beheaded Celestial (Eson, actually). This seems like an afterthought, like a lot of the things he comes up with (such as that thing about Cosmic Ghost Rider "teaching Thanos how to fight" when he was a baby). Knowhere's design isn't anywhere close to the other head, if Cates and Stegman had actually intended that to be canon, they would've made it look like this, or close. It just makes no sense.
Knull is at several tiers down from ultimate god of darkness.
It's Multiversal Death>Multiversal Oblivion>Death>Oblivion>shitters like Chaos King and Knull (who is probably a manifestation of one of the previous since they're literally all the same person)
>They're babies now, and it was stated they will not turn into the freaks they were before since that was all because of their awful dad.
They didn't get Morlun and with a bit of time travel and genetic engineering the entire shitty family could come back as long as he's still out there.
Rogal Dorn
You know this would admittedly work as a next gen villain, for Harry's son
He’s currently on Carnage’s hit list and in the protection of The Maker
And if that doesn't happen, I at least hope I get the satisfaction of seeing the Minotaur wetting himself while Hulk beats his cow skull in.
Wait, I thought that was Eddie's son?
>This all limit their coolness factor.
Venom was never cool.
It hasn't even tried to. Never mind that Snyder's cosmology is completely incompatible with Morrison's; Morrison has no truck with creator gods since emergence is his thing.
Well... 'eons' is not a term with a set meaning.
Both he and Normie are currently there, Maker wanted to toss Normie into his codex removing machine, but Spidey was against it, so they went off to go and get Norman. Dylan right now has the symbiote Sleeper from Costa’s run, or rather he’s about to bond with it
It looks nothing like it at all. Plus Knowhere is much too large to be a Celestial's helmet.
Celestials are 600 meters tall in armor, so their helmet is 80 meters, MAYBE.
I don't think Death is superior to Oblivion.
IMHO, Oblivion is the counterpart to absolutely everything else - he is nonexistence, like a dark reflection or anti-body provoked into 'existence' by actual existence.

Goddamn it.
Why does catea bully black bolt so much
Neither Knull nor the Bat who keks are forced. The first is a mid tier cosmic being, far surpassed by marvel's abstracts. People making a big deal out of him existing "before everything" don't realize that multiple pantheons and mythologies coexisting and representing the same thing has been a thing for ages in marvel and dc. Oblivion existed before everything, Mikaboshi existed before everything. Hell, Knull is just one of 3 void gods from before time that marvel came up with in a single year (Ewing's Nix and Slott's Griever ) so as far as intrusive aditions to the cosmology go, the character is fairly tame. Hell, he even builds on previous continuity elements like the necrosword from Thor. Then the other complain is that he is edgy, and given that he's tied to the venom mythos then that's an understatement.
Bat who keks isn't forced either because the response to the character has been overhwelmingly positive. His solo series sold great, the amount or merchandise, cosplays and fanart featuring him is a testament to that. It's not that he is being pushed against people's will (the actual definition of forced), it's an idea that caught on. He isn't even overexposed. He hasn't appeared in more than once series at a time since his creation, nearly all of them from the same 2 writers, and most of them (Metal, Justice League, and Batman/superman) are all part of a single long term story. The only outlier is that shitty Immortal Men series no one read. Anons hate the idea of the character more than the character for the same reason they hate hulk with wolverine claws, it strikes them as either infantile, simple or created to appeal to the lowest common denominator
I just want to say that this whole thing is the lamest shit ever.
Marvel Villain Power Levels as they should be (I think don’t be mean to me)
Galactus>Thanos with gauntlet>Celestials>Surtur>Hela=Mephisto>Dormannu>Apocalypse>Dr. Doom=Magneto>Gobbo=Kingpin=Red Skull>Taskmaster=Bullseye>Shocker
>don’t be mean to me
You are totally inviting it.
He's probably just not a fan of the character and thinks having Thanos or Vox beat someone with the King status will make them look cooler (despite the fact Thanos already beat BB years ago, so it's less cool for them). At least Cates had the decadence to leave him and the rest of the living Royal Family out of his GOTG run (at the cost of there Dog but I'm sure Lockjaw will comeback to them at the end of his GOTG run anyway).
>How has this story even handled morrison monitors or the endless?
There's only one monitor alive out of those, but yeah, he hasn't appeared in this story at all.
>'Over time' turned out to be a few years or even months.
This is a problem with Galactus. Every time he appears, it should be a pretty big deal, and he should probably only turn up in the same area of space again after at least a few years (more, really, but we do want him to appear again in our lifetimes), which with Marvel time would only be about once a decade per story.
Simonson must be rolling in his grave, and he's not even dead yet.
>Venom was never cool.
When he was just Spidey's costume, then the spooky living costume creeping around taking people as temporary hosts, he was cool.
The one where Earth 3 Atom jabs Kryptonite in his brain to trigger his heat vision? Fuck out of here retard. Post Crisis Supes straight up fucking executed people.
In case it wasn’t obvious user, a villain is “forced” when Yea Forums doesn’t like them. That’s the only criteria.
It's all just so mean-spirited. He actually said he liked Black Bolt in an interview and the reason why he made him the central character, but it's obvious he knew nothing of him beyond his voice powers, and the rest he constructed based on the wiki facts. The whole story was awful and full of inconsistencies, and this was just after Ahmed gave us a great Black Bolt story and Royals left the team in a good place.
>a villain is “forced” when Yea Forums doesn’t like them
Dismissing all criticism of a character this way just makes me think you're upset because you cannot offer a retort to defend them but still want to make it seem as if everyone in here has the same mindset. Every time this subject is brought up there's always someone like this saying "oh no Yea Forums just hates everything" and "Yea Forums used to like Cates but they just recently turned on him" as if we haven't been criticizing his bad writing for over a year already.
Lets be honest, he’s not wrong there. The average comic book reader is a complete retard who needs everything spelled out for them in the simplest terms possible.
>all. Plus Knowhere is much too large to be a Celestial's helmet.
>Celestials are 600 meters tall in armor, so their helmet is 80 meters, MAYBE.
Knowhere has been a Celestial skull since it was first introduced, dumbass. That’s not a Cates thing. He just showed the where the head came from.
Who the hell was Vox originally anyway, since it's later shown that they convert Inhumans into Vox Soldiers, but we never learn how it started.
>He just showed the where the head came from.
He actually didn't, see . That tweet was clearly an afterthought, and he can say whatever he wants on his Twitter, but unless it's on the page, it means nothing.
They originally said it was a "Super Inhuman" made by this rebel Kree faction to annihilate all Inhumans for not submitting to their rule. Then midway in the mini, the motivation changed so it was only Black Bolt the one they wanted in first place, not the others (because the Universal Inhumans showed up at the previously agreed place and got massacred and hanged). So Black Bolt decides to show up at the place where this rebel faction (and Vox) is to give them a lesson, but even though Black Bolt basically decimates their forces, Vox still shows up and slices his throat (Karnak also jobs in the stupidest way).
THEN LATER, it turns out it's not a single Vox but rather some suit they put on Inhumans and control them, so the whole "Super Inhuman" nonsense wasn't true. And in the end, you don't really learn what their motivations are, because Black Bolt arrives to the facility where all the suits are (with the Inhumans that supposedly died previously but actually didn't) and destroys an army of Voxes by himself (when he previously couldn't). And that's it, that's the mini.
>Page posted literally says that it's a decapitated celestial head.
At least you tried.
>It's all just so mean-spirited.
it is, weather it be the shitting on Black Bolt, the downplaying of Karnak's fighting skill, making the whole inhuman army job (when this is an army that can take on the Avengers and US army as shown in Silent Wars) to Vox or how easy it was for Vox to beat Maximus. It all come off as just the writer saying "fuck this shit, I wanted to make a different book". which is why I like to believe Cates said he liked Black Bolt as nothing more then just him trying to give lip service to those who like the Inhumans (myself included) and to make himself look better.
>The whole story was awful and full of inconsistencies
I hear from the GOTG threads this is a problem with Cates overall along with throwing Thor lore into everything.
We Never found out who Vox was. he's just a not Earth-X Black Bolt looking guy wearing red and black.
Must be nice having a low IQ that loves nothing but epic anime battles and pin up splash pages in your manga devoid of content or context.
I was being sarcastic to make fun of the guy calling Ewing pretentious, though.
You can't prove that.
Vou Gozar

Not only did he say he liked Black Bolt he said Jenkin's Inhumans was favorite Marvel Knights book. A book where Black Bolt never uses his voice. That being he said he more or less say Lockjaw and Black Bolt stars of the inhumans which is why everyone else just stood around and did fuck all. Also probably why he had Bill show rather than have then step up.
And he still stole Lockjaw from them and invented some bullshit backstory to justify having him away from the Inhumans and keep him with BRB.
Fuck, every time I remember it pisses me off.
See , you don’t set up a fuckin’ anime style forgotten childhood friendship and expect that villain to be the one whose plan goes off without a hitch. Lex is Lucy from Elfen Lied and Perpetua is Professor Kakuzawa Sr.
>he said Jenkin's Inhumans was favorite Marvel Knights book.
>Karnak nor any of the other Inhumans where in the Marvel Knights 20th book
Man Cates you're really bad at this lying thing.
>Also probably why he had Bill show rather than have then step up.
Nope that's just Cates Thor boner going off again. He put Thor lore in anything he has worked on including having Cosmic Ghost Rider be saved by Odin for reasons.now I like Thor but his shit doesn't need to be everywhere.
the moment Cates is off GotG, Lockjaw is going back to his true family unless Cates for some reason keeps him around for a Thor run he might be making.
The REALLY fucking sad part is that if Thor had just yeeted his hivemind with nascent, unconscious use of the ODINFORCE he is destined to inherit it would be more convincing because of what a unique cosmic force it’s generally depicted as than the idea that the Celestials never thought to use lightning against Knull nor any god he ever fought even though fucking electromagnetism is a universal phenomena
And he’s designated Aquaman as his champion! Clearly, the man who can talk to fish is the only being in the whole multiverse who can aid the cosmic entity that presides over destruction and a whole universe of antimatter!
Bendis, agent of the Gentry.
I’ve been telling people the Gentry’s victory was inevitable for years.
And look at that, I was right.
Spinel
Ravioli Zack
I rest my case.
True. Sure wish they had explained it.
It's consistently shown to be a space station, at least the size of a small town... kinda like Kowloon Walled City.
Of course in the MCU it's far more problematic,
Maybe they should have made it the skull of the Infinity Being.
And maybe they should try to explain just what the fuck that was... the legend has been around for ages, but we never got any explanation yet, even when Nemesis was around.
It does, and indeed it always did, but it is still far too large for that.
Maybe if it was the helmet of Exetar, but that looks different too....
Ha. Maybe it was an earlier, less powerful version of Exetar, destroyed by Godkiller. Would also explain why it looks different.
...Or maybe there were other classes of Celestial back then.
>the Celestials never thought to use lightning against Knull
DESU I don't think they ever gave him any thought. He cut off Eson's helmet that one time, but is never shown ever confronting Celestials after that moment. How was he to know what they are? He still had zero context. He was fighting those nameless armored guys, but they are clearly not Celestials, although he may have thought they were.
"Gaze upon me, Celestials! After billions of years, your nemesis returns for the final revenge!"
"(...)"*
* "Who are you?"
Isn't that Solomon Grundy?
DC writers at large give the barest of shits about the Endless, or anything in the god sphere besides Darkseid.
kek
>I don't think Death is superior to Oblivion.
Oblivion is canonically an avatar of Death. Also, Oblivion isn't nonexistence. It is beyond existence. Marvel cosmology doesn't allow for true nonexistence. You always end up somewhere.
No fucking idea where Abraxas fits in.
Event villains are generally stupid bullshit
>The REALLY fucking sad part is that if Thor had just yeeted his hivemind with nascent, unconscious use of the ODINFORCE he is destined to inherit it would be more convincing because of what a unique cosmic force it’s generally depicted as than the idea that the Celestials never thought to use lightning against Knull nor any god he ever fought even though fucking electromagnetism is a universal phenomena
To be fair, Thor lost to Blackheart because he didn't think to use lightning against him.
Remember that time Thor built a 300 iq robot? Someone fucking please remind Marvel that Asgardians are smart as fuck.
Sandman. Literally.
Morpheus did nothing wrong except for the hell thing
>It feels like Snyder is trying to emulate Ewing
Hell no, it's Snyder trying to emulate Hickman.
Looks more like he was referring to Black Bolt, since Oblivion is hardly 'new'.
Snyder just wants to one-up everything that's existed before; all for that royalty.
The avatar of death referred to on that page is Phyla
He seemed to disagree.
I don't know why but I have started hating Poison Ivy so goddamn much
Odd, since her nasty side has been toned down a lot after 'Flashpoint'.
That’s because Ivy isn’t really Ivy any more, she’s been reduced to Harley Quinn’s sidekick and shoulder to weep on, rather than being one of Batman’s more morally questioning villains. It’s hard to find fault in someone who just wants to save the planet. That is until they start brutally murdering humans and feeding them to plants.
So fucking sad we’ll never get the seductress styled Poison Ivy again
I want her to go more and more plantlike until one day she just freezes in place, takes root and becomes a human-shaped tree... until a while later a huge flower starts to grow... and eventually, out steps Ivy as she started out, nude as a starfish, pink as a newborn and remembering nothing up till the moment Jason Woodrue fucked up her life.
>Becomes a brilliant botanist with a playful, horny side
Yes he did. In Scott Snyder’s Superman unchained he killed numerous aliens and was going to Allahu Akbar an entire armada, right after he left his rival to die in the earth’s core.
Whomever Leviathan is.
No... The previous page explicitly refers to Phyla as the new Avatar, not Oblivion himself, who's actually an equivalent to Death in the cosmic balance (Infinity/Eternity/Death/Oblivion).
Send her to the Amazon to deal with some deforestation (nice topical subject there), have her connection with The Green become so strong that she ascends into a pseudo goddess. Swamp Thing is brought in to stop her. She hibernates and eventually comes back and starts to try and turn major cities back into lush jungles.
I don’t like the idea of Ivy being a “good guy”, she should be a vicious villain whose goals you find it hard to disagree with, but her methods make her a monster. I’m so tired of female villains being redeemed just because they are female.
people keep posting this page over and over, yet I have no connection to what or who he is. Can someone explain?
Ronald Zeke, he destroyed Krypton and enslaved Firestar's people. He's as bad as they come. That's how bad he is.
He is Bendis’ new big bad guy who ACTUALLY destroyed Krypton and has been the secret enemy Of Kryptoians everywhere
B-but she's so pretty!
Often times the most lovely things you’ll find in the wild are the most dangerous
Poetic. Give this user an ongoing, stat!
Fuck I wish, first thing I’d do is have Ivy reminded that Harley Quinn, no matter how much Pam might like her, is still just a human and therefore an enemy. In the end it will be Ivy hesitation towards Harley that would be her undoing and ultimately betrayed. Afterwards, Ivy sheds what humanity she held onto and devotes herself to the green in a twisted point of view.
I just want Ivy to be more than Harley Quinn’s side piece, that’s all
#givepoisonivyaboytoy
Sorry user, but Ivy can engage in tentacle bondage with vines and plants. No way is some human dick ever going to be able to compete.
Not the dick, no.
Nazgul Saw
It's! It's... ah... It's on the tip on m'tongue... ah...
Rubba Dubba...? Yeah! Rubba Dubba, that other-other-other-OTHER fag who destroyed Krypton!
The washed out pastels and dark silhouette make this look like a Floraverse antagonist from the thumbnail.
If Ivy hates the murder of plants, does this mean she’s exclusively a carnivore?
Rugal Bernstein?
>He put Thor lore in anything he has worked on
Why not just have him in Thor instead of having him stink up other titles. It's not like Thor has been any good for a long while. Even Ewing got himself a Thor related title.
Hello there, my name is Neron. I've never been around before this event, but here I am to make deals with people to make them do my bidding. I, and only I, run Hell.
First of the Fallen who? Doesn't sound like anyone I know.
Lucifer? Never heard of him.
Blaze and Satanus? No clue who they are
Because right now Jason Aaron is the one writing Thor, so he has to make do with using his lore in other books right now. He'll probably be on Thor soon anyway since Jason Aaron is most likely going to stop writing Thor sometime after he is done with his Old King Thor story starting September.
You just wait until Azazel gets out of that bottle Dream put him in...
Is i just in Marvel cosmology that you always end up somewhere, or is that shared across both? Because I always get confused reading about DC's cosmology. They have stuff like Heaven but then you can double-die and there's stuff like the Decreator or something?
God that's such an ugly design.
There's no canon. Nobody has ever tried to make actual sense of these things and it would be futile to try.
I fucking hate Bendis.
Bingo
What did Miles see?
God.
... Nah, the city. He realized they were flying too high because they're inside the try-hard OC's dragon.
Earth from low orbit

Filled the long list of forgotten "ultimate Superman villians"
Perpetua is a discount Abeloth from Star Wars
This anatomy is all kinds of fucked. Dude looks like he's wearing a mask, his hands could almost touch his knees, Superman's shoulders are deformed...
I don't dislike Lash. Despite being one of the most simplistic villains to spin out off of the inhuman push he got used the most because he was the first. Showing up in games, AoS, and tons of comic appearances.
never read any Superman then. The series usually prided itself on weird-ass proportions
I did like the art of that monster though, that was right until I noticed how long his arm was in the last panel.
Rosanne Barr
On the one hand I like the idea of Ivy being sexually attracted to Batman. On the other hand that's just Kevin Smith being Kevin Smith. Right down to the weed fumes making it harder for Batman to fight.
>becoming more radioactive
Literally how?
I always thought Lash looked kinda like akuma from Street Fighter to me. Nothing against the character through, he was alright.
Probably by lovering the half-life of his constituting elements as short-lived radioactive elements emit more radiation
They do but for them to be that short-lived he'd already bath a large area in radiation almost instantly.
Marvel has soul destruction but anything that is removed "from existence" just ends up with Oblivion except for abstracts themselves which have their own afterlife because of course they do.
In DC if you double die you end up in Limbo which last I checked was a constant of the multiverse that acts like some sort of multiversal Akashic record that basically houses anyone and anything removed from play, be it alive or dead, akin to shit falling out of Marvel's floating timeline which actually has an in universe explanation...that you should probably ignore because it directly conflicts with how their multiverse proper is structured but whatever.
What kind of title is 'Event Leviathan' anyway?
It's the first draft Bendis delivered to DC, but since he explicitly avoids editors, the person who was in charge or revising it didn't make any changes to it so they thought "Event Leviathan" was the name of the event and not the working title.
>This anatomy is all kinds of fucked. Dude looks like he's wearing a mask, his hands could almost touch his knees, Superman's shoulders are deformed
Yup, that's JRJR for you. Having a big name can give you a lot of possibilities.
>>Celestials are 600 meters tall in armor
Celestials vary in size.
Exitar is at least 20 times bigger than most other Celestials, and nothing implies there are or were not MORE Celestials, even bigger
last: Odin with the Destroyer Armor and the life-energy of all Asgard managed to cut Arishem's hand... he just re-grew it like nothing
Nothing suggest being decapitated being anything more than a slight case of headache for a Celestial.
Knull: "Gaze upon me, Celestials! After billions of years, your nemesis returns for the final revenge!"
Celestials: "(...)"*
X-51: "They say: Who the are you?"
Fix'd
Death and Oblivion are side of the same medal, like Eternity and Infinity
Oblivion is the lack of existence, Death is the passing from existence to non-existence.
Abraxas is probably an aspect of Oblivion, like Chaos King and Knull, but on a multiversal scale.
>>Is i just in Marvel cosmology that you always end up somewhere, or is that shared across both?
there is an afterlife.
Death is in charge of it, but subcontracts management to local deities.
If your soul gets utterly destroyed, you end up in Oblivion's care... and i don't think anybody ever got back.
Cosmic Abstracts have their own after-life of sort because Nothing Really Dies, much to Oblivion's chagrin.
There also are 2 different types of Limbo, one being space-time limbo and another being just a dimension outside normal space-time.
>dude, what if Batman was infected by a Joker venom that turned him into the Joker?
Isn't this what happened at the end of Batman Arkham Knight?
The best end for Knull is to retcon his existence as a really powerful symbiote moving around a meatpuppet thats deluded itself into thinking it's a god
Yes, but Snyder was watching hellraiser at the time and reading Judge Dredd
I think one of these little fellas snagging Knull would be hilarious, something as big and mighty that could be considered a god taken down by something small enough to be called a sickness
I'd definitely love if this happened, although knowing Cates, he'd probably have Knull swat them and make a cringe-worthy speech about it.
>Pushed in countless books since Infinity
>Got an ongoing book

Does anyone actually like these faggots (apart from the females for waifu reasons)
>it's a female
>a non-human humanoid female with boobs and stuff
>comic readers: "well yeah, this is normal, that's what girls look like"
user, there are so many things that should have turned you off of this to start with
I do, that mini series was really good
The miniseries was good but then they proceeded to be misused by Cates so it was all for nothing.
I liked the mini but I doubt the traits will carry over in future appearances.
>Nothing suggest being decapitated being anything more than a slight case of headache for a Celestial.
what abut when Thor decapitated Exitar?
>LOOK GUYS, IT'S MY OC WHO'S TOTALLY ORIGINAL
>HE'S BATMAN BUT CURAYZEEE
>LOOK AT HIS AWESOME DESIGN, IT'S NOT A RIPOFF OF ANYTHING
Man, I love me some blue alien babes.
What is Batman who ROFL's deal why cant someone just throw his ass into the sun or even just kick his ass like vanilla Joker
Snyder's whole deal has been half-assed recycling of Grant Morrison's DC stories since the Nu52.
>l why cant someone just throw his ass into the sun
He'd ridicule the sun for giving its sunshine for free and roast it harder than a coronal mass ejection. It just wouldn't work man, he's from the Dark Multiverse.
Because he's too cool to be defeated like that.
Checkmate.
Is this the Batman/Judge Dredd crossover?
I've got the perfect solution for him then
1. Remender, who's not any better than Aaron
2. he'll reform like the last time he got killed by Sue Storm.
Pretty sure it's some guy who thinks he's cool either coming up with something 'new' or just blatantly stealing from other franchises, because of course no one who reads Batman reads 2000AD/Judge Dredd any more.
No, I mean the NAME/title.
It'd be like calling a Marvel story 'Event S.H.I.E.L.D.' or something.
It doesn't make sense.
Oh, wait, you did answer me, thanks.
I was actually joking though, but yes that's basically how Bendis operates and why his shit seems always wonky: no editorial meddling ever.
I liked how Maw could just talk his enemies to defeat. Has that continued since Infinity War totally ignored it?
Honestly, I hate those things MUCH more than Knull.
I'd gladly take a whole saga like Dark Reign staring Knull that last over a year and touches almost every book if it meant never seeing those things again.
Buuuuuuuuuuut since the current event is trying to do the whole "everyone's here" of Symbiotes I wouldn't be surprised if the ones that survived show up.
Has it been addressed how that moron can even see?
Yeah, he can definitely look around.
>Has that continued since Infinity War totally ignored it?
Yeah, he uses his particular persuasive skills to secure a position in the enemies' ranks in the Black Order mini, and then, well, stuff happens. You should read it.
Jason Aaron makes the absolute worst villains. As if Schism wasn't fucking terrible enough, the antagonists of the whole thing and era afterward until AvX were the Hellfire Babies.
Nope.
We even know it's just a solid block of metal.
>just a solid block of metal.
Batmanium*
>Batman that lmao brings the most deadly batman
>more deadly than other batmen including doomsday batman and flash batman
>Batman that shoots

Holy shit, I thought that was a large spoon/ladle the first time I saw it.
>Americium, Curium, Berkelium, Californium, Einsteinium, Fermium, Mendelevium, Nobelium, Lawrencium, Rutherfordium, Dubnium, Seaborgium, Bohrium, Hassium, Meitnerium, Darmstadtium, Roentgenium, Copernicium, Nihonium, Flerovium, Moscovium, Livermorium, Tennessine, Oganesson
Batmanium is not smart. Waynium would have been better. But at least it's not fucking Rutherfordium.
I think "jokerized" is Scott Snyder's fetish. He has jokerized most DC heroes.
Reminder that even War of the Realms had to shill him by making Malekith use the Venom symbiote to emulate Knull as the final bad guy.
He initially had super natural powers due to some cards he got from Barbatos.
He doesn't have those cards now, but has basically relied on plans to act right now. Batman hasn't managed to catch him again, just stop his plans.
That’s emulating Knull? I didn’t real War of Realms, just the Venom Kratos tie ins. Just looks like Mal with a symbiote.
It actually was explained in his mini. The metal he uses can sense dimensional vibrations which allows him to basically "see" through it even better than normal vision (so he can look into other dimensions and such), but only due to his insanity.
Didn't know I needed a definition for "dark bimboification", but now I have it.
You mean “Corruption”, user?
I can only pray to what ever god may listen that the next guy to come after Snyder will have someone like Sinestro just utterly destroy him (in a hopefully graphic and gory way so no one can pull a "he survived" bullshit" and throw the corpse into a black hole just to prove how powerful he is for an event
I feel like the venom movie doing well had a part to play. But it's silly how hard sumbiotes are getting wanked now when they are high street level. Carnage is mostly just hard to kill. iirc Savage avengers had Conan wielding a symbiote.
>even the Silver Surfer has trouble against him because he's just that strong
Silver surfer isn't that high tier in the cosmic scheme of things. Knull isn't that powerful compared to the likes of death and oblivion either
Now Malekith, that's an absolutely bland villain. Plus the necrosword was tied to Thor before Knull was even created
>Plus the necrosword was tied to Thor before Knull was even created
Cates consulted Aaron before doing that shit though, insert him into the story. But that's OK, he's still easy to retcon if push comes to shove (not that though, since fuck Aaron's Thor).
cringe
Lmao, they really had him emulate Knull huh? No wonder Malekith randomly wielded the Ebony blade for a short time.
And they all try to emulate Morrison. What's your point? Both Hickman and Ewing are terrible.
>BUT MUH HULK
Decent, nothing more.
Nice argument.
>Both Hickman and Ewing are terrible.
Hahaha.
>Decent, nothing more.
HAAAAAAHAHAHA.
There's more to Ewing than Hulk, in fact Immortal Hulk is middle of the road for the sort of ideas he's brought to the table before.
It depends on the colorists to complement the texture. That’s the downside of having some heavily stylized comics.
BUMP
So is this another Tuesday or the real thing for once? Be honest!
