Different guy here. SFM/Blender animation is on the rise. Groups like Studio FOW are making long-length films you can get for free directly from them. No pay walls. Other animators have much shorter videos but have a much faster and more regular output compared to Zone. I'm not saying Zone is finished, but his competition is fierce these days.

SFM is pretty much dead as Blender is overtaking it and for good reason. SFM is loaded with problems and just doesn't look good anymore. FOW are more focused on their game that got them $2 million.
