With the Pearl reboot song title as a hint it seems like pink damaged her original pearl and white decided to swap Pearls rather than fixing/havesting her. Pink Pearl was probably filled with grief about angering and losing her owner so she had to be controlled by white in order to become useful again. Steven could've heard her story during the timeskip hence his response to spinel being left alone.

this was Blue's last line to Pink, the last form of dialogue in Steven's vision. I think the implication here Pink took that advice, and Bismuth's, to heart in a way: that as long as Pink Diamond was around the colonization would always be a thing. The show kept telling us over and over Rose wanted to "scare the remaining gems off the planet." She thought the other Diamonds didn't give a shit about her, that if she died maybe they would retaliate initially but the Crystal Gems would keep kicking their ass until they realize the colony wasn't worth it and leave. She had no idea they could nuke the planet, probably.

Well even if they retaliated the Crystal Gems could keep fighting them off keep becoming more and more powerful as a faction converting Homeworld gems, until hopefully they realize this single colony wasn't worth it and they'd leave brush this incident under the rug. I honestly don't even know what Pink should have done here, if she didn't start roleplaying as Rose Quartz disrupting the colony than more Kindergartens would have dotted the surface than just the two, all things considered things worked out pretty well desu the Earth is still kicking.

but they wouldnt though. from HW's prospective, they could keep pumping out gems as much as they want. and killing a diamond would warrent a much larger response than some rebellion. whether that be a full on invasion or the diamond nuke. she should have expected something like that, but instead she just thought they would stop there when that was very far from the case, even without her knowing about them caring for them. she set her rebellion up to fail because she never thought about what happens when achieve your goal. though to be fair, that is something most rebellions do.

what should have Pink done then, the Diamonds were running out of patience with her the situation was getting more and more dicey how long would they have tolerated her lack of progress. what do you think would have happened if Pink was never "shattered" ?

I still think Pink biggest character trait is that she isn't good at seeing the bigger picture :
-Leaving Spinel behind, probably thinking she'd end up getting bored of waiting
-Wanting a colony to be like the other diamonds and then trying to retract
-The rebellion getting worse and more violent
-Shattering herself may have seems like a good idea at the time but she didn't expect the nuke in return
-Playing around with Greg before actually falling for him and having her first real romantic relationship
-Killing herself and how it would affect the other gems and Greg

I don't think it's as simple as they just hate her now, her portrait is still on the wall and Steven has his home littered with roses and hibiscus obviously inspired by his mother. They're disillusioned on her perfection but not everything about Rose was fake, they were still basically family for millennia. They would never betray Steven though.

It'd be a waste if we didn't get more Rose stuff to further clarify things like this but I'm not holding my breath.

If we're going with the idea Pink damaged the Pearl it would make sense to have Spinel be durable. Even if we ignore that, White Diamond would probably have Spinel be durable/etc just in case, this IS Pink Diamond we are talking about.

Probably the Anti-Pink posting that's been happening recently would give a basic outline, building off of this with the full extent of whatever she did to Pink Pearl. She's already treated a Gem who was supposed to be her closest confidant badly and we can see at least some of the damage done to Pink Pearl, so it's not much stretch to believe she was the cause of it.
