ITT: the definitive versions of characters
Venom
He looks very good in that game.
Best voice for him by far. I’d say this game is actually one of my favorite general Spider-Man adaptions.
Didn't this game have an original end game boss where Doc Oct and Caranage fused together? That was scary as a kid especially when he screamed.
Yes this is the same game.
>He's STEALING OCK-tavius's DUH-vice
>goes from 'ILL FUCKING KILL YOU AND RAPE YOUR LOVED ONES' to 'haha peter my buddy im such a goof'
been a wee-lad who hasnt read the comics made the sudden 180 on his personality very bizarre
Why is Venom able to turn invisible in that game?
Don't tell me it was just a visual representation of him evading Peter's spidey sense, because he does it later in the game with other people around, too.
venom found out he was innocent,
This might be my introduction the character in retrospect. Had a lot of good laughs for a PS1 title.
He's able to do that in comics too. His costume just mimics the surroundings so he blends in.
You're disgusting.
Here you go.
WHERE ARE YOU BOYYY
DIIIIIIEEEEEEE
That chase sequence haunted me as a lad.
Did he ever reappear anywhere? Is the gameverse its own ignored continuity?
I remember that it really bothered me as a kid that they bothered to re-texture Symbiote Ock for a dramatic "LAST TIME ON SPIDERMAN" styled intro in the game's sequel. And then never actually brought back any of the first game's villains or plot points.
The gameverse is its own continuity, this game and Enter Electro.
The final season of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon had carnage combine with Ock, but it wasn't as monstrous and just looked kinda lame.
Carnipus?
Marvel Max Punisher. This is what I base other incarnations on.
Official name is Monster Ock
BOOOMHEADSHOT
Kid mode
Monster Cock
>(Plays on Hard)
'Nuff Said!
SPIDERWUUUUUUUSS
TAG!
A different version of monster-ock showed up in edge of time, this time he fused with anti venom
I used to think he original color was blue for the longest time and didn't understand why they always adapted him as black
This is by far my favorite Aquaman. I would love to read an ongoing with this version.
I'd say same but I haven't read any of the original early Punisher stuff yet.
Better than IDW's, that's for sure. On the sidenote, here's my definitive faves
IDW Shockers
G1 OG Optimus
WFC Megatron, closely tied with Animated
I actually tried to watch G1 but it was so dated in every single aspect that I can't believe someone with no childhood nostalgia for the show can enjoy it, at least the movie is good?
Animated Swindle, Lockdown, Starscream
G1's alright in terms of being your typical saturday morning fun. Optimus was just peak memorable while everything else borders on how much you're into it.
Movie's meh and quite controversial. You have diehard fans and live action haters stating it's the best TF movie period despite the fact that it murders fan favorites in an attempt to introduce new ones and then rolling back on that decision 1 season later. The animation was lackluster too when compared to other animated movies of its age. Besides that, it's pretty great as a space movie.
TAS through JLU Batman. This includes old man Wayne in Batman Beyond.
Most Ghost Rider stories from miniseries/oneshots are absolutely baller and it really shows how much GR would function far better without the MCU. Similar to Constantine and a few other religion-based characters.
Wasn't it also canon to those X-Men fighting games on the PS1?
Can't tell. I always thought the X-Men fighting games were canon to the MvC verse.
I only ask because Spider-Man shows up in a stage.
p-post more fren
Peter Parker
IDW shockwave is a retarded furry
more like JJ Jameson
could they ever find a better casting for this role?
>reasons:my ass
Tons, but JJ is just so memorable and iconic that making the casting wrong or unmemorable would be disasterous, akin to getting Mark Zuckenberg to play as Lex Luthor.
Controversial, though his only real contenders are the animated Spideys. Also, mine's the older comic Spider-Man but not too early. Somewhere along the arcs of Harry's drug abuse and pre-Clone Wars
CHONK
That guy IS JJ Jameson
*blocks your path*
The Mike Zech stuff is Good. Chuck Dixon War Zone is awesome. Avoid undead demon killing Punisher at all costs.
I'd watch an entire movie of this guy
and you call him venom, despite the fact he is obviously me.
>ITT: whichever version I grew up with
why is WFC Megatron so great?
They somehow make him likable enough despite him literally poisoning the entire planet. I think its just his stubborn-ass determination throughout the decepticon campaign.
If being a charismatic genociding commander isn't peak Megatron, I don't know what is.
Also, the voice.
Yeah but WFC Megs is really an asshole even by the usual standards. He blames Cybertron dying on Prime when its literally all his fault.
>Admitting that it's your fault and not moonlighting it to your own rival
Nigga started the Decepticons, not the Honesticons
even movie megatron has a legit grievance with the backstory of optimus launching the allspark into space, tho
Movie Megs was sorta a stray bullet. You can genuinely see his motive of wanting to save Cybertron and giving no shits about some anthill-tier world while he views Optimus as a specie traitor. In the hands of a proper director, that take would've been way more interesting a redemption than in IDW.
the pc/Dreamcast version looked better
also scary as shit. I love him.
I still don't get it. How do they have the scenes with him raising transformer babies in barrels, moping in an alleyway and saving optimus from sentinel. ALL things that make him sympathetic to the audience.
and then brutally kill him off like that? it's so tone deaf.
>surf the web SURF THE WEB
He's ugly, he kills humans, and he plans on enslaving humanity and risking it all by crashing Cybertron into the planet like a maniac.
By human standards, genocide at mind would be enough to make him the supervillain. Optimus kills his own kind but he's on hour side as Cybertronian Doom guy.
really he sits on his ass while his decepticons rampage. He never kills anyone the entire movie.
even sentinel was the one who gave the order to massacre chicago iirc
What is that image in reference to
I mean he was the cause for some deaths in TF1 from his flailing around and even non-lethally flickered Michael Bay, but really he was kinda chill and only wanted to murder Shia Lebuff, which Starscream capitalized poorly on.
But really though, he was going to enslave us all.
In the novels and the comics, Megatron killed an elephant and yelled All Hail Megatron. Michael Bay cut it from the film not because it didn't make much sense besides exposition but because he actually likes elephants and didn't want animal cruelty in.
That sounds really endearing, thanks
Easy to be definitive when you're the only tolerable version.
it made perfect sense.
guy was so petty (and possibly brain damaged, he was literally missing a chunk of his head) he would shoot a dumb animal for not bowing down to him
The movies were fun but this is nowhere near definitive Peter Parker
inb4 someone likes me of accusing that faggot Iron Boy garbage
Nah senpai, if Spectacular did something bad was Venom
Shame they never really went deep with his brain damage thing. He was the freaking Nemesis Prime with his dreaded truck version of Optimus.
MAX Punisher is great but he should not be de defacto Punisher, this is a Frank who got to this point after decades of punishing
Fight me.
It's like a trend that superhero movies of the past got the leads entirely wrong but the side characters oh so right.
If you grew up with this show, nearly all the characters are
too bad theres no tolerable version of you
I still love this iteration, even if he was wasted
maybe one day they'll try broken hobo megatron again and do it right
it's a good look
Not really, Cyclops was shafted in the show
