Looking back the fate of Andrew in "Under Raps" wasn't clear but he's not in the prison ship in S2, so probably he escaped after his defeat. Also the air balloon from the promo pic also could be the hint of the relation to Saporia.

We've had multiple threads of speculation about just what, exactly, is going to happen when Rapunzel unites the Sundrop and the Moonstone. What if, instead of Rapunzel saving the world from Varian, Cass, or Zhan Tiri, the rest of the cast, including Cass and Varian, have to save the world from Rapunzel in the grand finale?

I think the only constraint of the show by the mouse’s contract is the series finale has to be consistent to the Ever After short, so the fates of the original characters from the movie are guaranteed safe. Sun drop had the seamless merge with Raps before she's born. Also it's harmonious and silent most of the time. It only reacts with subconscious status when Raps needs emergency help like her hair approaches the black rocks in secret of the sun drop and the twin Raps in Rapunzeltopia.
