A new promo image has been revealed today (the one to right) related to this whole "Incoming" thing, giving more clues to the mystery around this murder.
>It appears the masked man from Marvel Comics #1000 is one of three characters revealed to be in this “Incoming!” series. The other two are Jessica Jones and Daredevil. The masked man is wearing the Eternity Mask, which is a character we don’t yet know, but was hyped to be revealed in 2020. >It appears this murder mystery will reveal more than just who dies, but who this stranger is in 2020 as the event starts December 26, 2019.
Marvel Comics #1001 should reveal some key plots as that's also going to be written by Al Ewing and will explain more about the Eternity Mask.
Eternity Mask and Hulkling - King of Space. This sure seems to be Ewing's book. Probably will follow on the stuff he set up in GotG annual with Kree being heavily split.
Ethan Long
Neat, I'm glad street-level is getting more shine.
Luis Powell
It is very likely. The missing link here is finding out why and how the Eternity Mask is linked to Hulkling, as we haven't seen him anywhere near this yet. And yeah this is all Ewing, he hasn't confirmed but it looks like his thing. I'm gonna do a quick storytime with the pages of Marvel Comics #1000 that are exclusively about this Eternity Mask thing...
Charles Rogers
The teaser art pieces for this one-shot are by Valerio Schiti
Jaxson Butler
In truth they're all supposed to be "related" because they're interviews the Masked Raider is conducting for some reason (as revealed at the end), but yeah we're not doing that now.
It probably isn't linked. I suspect this is not really Eternity Mask story, Ewing just uses it to build up the new Masked Rider. The first two teasers established respectively the space and the Earth sides of the story. And the third one tied them together. Both Jessica and Matt are likely to be investigating the situation, so that's probably also Rider's role here.
Julian Sullivan
The Eternity Mask will probably be explained in Marvel Comics #1001 and be part of this thing, but the first poster yeah, it's likely gonna be mostly Cosmic.
This one was written by Ewing but I'm not sure if it's actually related to the Eternity Mask since there's no mention of it, but I'm including it just in case.
And here is Adam IV, which should be part of the event. KORVAC. Also, first mention of "Zota", who might be the unnamed fourth member of the original Enclave who might have survived the Adam Warlock incident. Jeremy Hamilton is running with the Mask, while Morlak and Shinski passed away.
If the three covers (or teasers) are somehow related, my best guess is Wiccan Btw this is for sure related to the Eternity Mask, which is part of the Ewing's subplot, so maybe he'll finally get to write his cosmic event?
Gabriel Russell
Then, yesterday's teaser, likely by Valerio Schiti (are there any other pencillers currrently working with Marvel with the initials "V.S."?)
Yeah that's not his signature, I found this cover he made instagram.com/p/BuOvedYB7Y6/ and the signature is the same as , so it's gotta be another artist. Too bad I can't recognize the art style.
Parker Clark
Is the new Masked Raider both street level and cosmic?
Robert Edwards
Wait a minute.... isn't that Nova's symbol?
Colton Harris
Also, one detail: the corpse says "2FACED", with a Hala star on top... So what if it's Hulking himself, killed by the Kree? Seems that way, the wearer has the same power level as the opponent, so whoever wears it might have the same strength as Daredevil in street level, and the same powers as Kallark if they were to face him.
Kayden Ramirez
either that or the starbrand
Isaiah Young
Then get help on twatter
Jordan Sanchez
Maybe Hector Ayala wore the Eternity mask under his White Tiger mask like Night Thrasher said
Brayden Ortiz
If was the man under the mask. The new one is using Two Gun Kid's guns. Heck, maybe it's actually TGK.
David Ross
Which characters did he personally interview?
Joshua Martin
Now that i think of it, it feels weird that they referenced the Cap and Bucky's replacement, were those on an Ewing's page?
Jacob Rodriguez
I like that nod to the fantastic four because they truly changed things in the marvel universe. And nextwave. I might be wrong.
Gabriel Phillips
Who/what is the Thunderer?
Robert Wright
You know what? Put my money on it being that Zodiac guy from Dark Reign who looked like Alfred E. Neuman. Ewing is almost mad enough to pull something like that, and I know no one else would ever put money on him ever coming back.
Robert Sullivan
An golden era character that debuted in Marvel Mystery Comics, the "Black Avenger". He shows up here , and pic related. This story implies that the Thunderer wore the Eternity Mask, although by the time he was found by Bob Grayson, the Mask was already gone.
He was already mentioned as a potential Eternity Mask wearer here so doesn’t seem likely.
Nicholas Ross
I don't think it's related to the Mask. I think Ewing wrote that page just because he used Ava in his New Avengers/USAvengers titles (also where he resurrected Angela).
Colton Walker
Didn't realize they explained that Jerome died due to rapid aging, so he's off the table too. It has to be someone who wore a black mask before. Thought so, I can't link it to anything else so far.
Nathan Hernandez
>If They're all part of INCOMING, aren't they?
Christopher Watson
It is the new masked raider, right?
Kayden Garcia
Yeah, they all begin on December 26th, they're related.
James Gray
>I think Ewing wrote that page just because he used Ava in his New Avengers/USAvengers titles And also beause Perez co-created the first White Tiger
Nathaniel Morgan
But... this isn't how it happened. Actually The Thunderer is alive, just old.
Charles Bell
Not anymore. Probably a fake hired by the Enclave. Not like he’s done anything outside of like two cameos.
Jason Lewis
This is why Ewing should write Marvel Cosmic
Easton Nguyen
Okay. I'm a bit confused because literally there is too much deep history to follow >Adam Warlock is related to these Adam Projects? >What are the Adam Projects? >What is Korvac? >Have the 3 members of the Enclave always existed in comics?
Ayden Scott
Or of the second where the first hero emerged and maybe the mask was part of its costume or being. It just kept falling through the cracks at the dawn of each eternity manifestation?
Kevin Nguyen
Korvac is a guy from the future sent to the present and is a weilder of the power cosmic.
Elijah Watson
Shit I meant the 3rd but the description did say it was the pilgrim. And the mask was there at the dawn of the Americas formation. 4th must be a rebel, unlike the others. It's all coming together.
I like this theory, Ewing recently mentioned the beings from other Multiverses being in the current one (more specificaly Galan and the mage from the fifth multiverse) so maybe it is all connected to the original Life-Bringer, aka the first hero (and that would explain why Ewing wanted Zorro "the masked rider" in MC, since he is one of the firsts comic heroes).
Robert Evans
I can answer for Adam. Basically the origin of Adam Warlock are a bunch of scientists (the enclave) trying to create the perfect being. That being was Adam, originally simply called "Him".
Blake Jones
Before that, he gained access to the Power Primordial after the Grandmaster used him to fight the Defenders.
Kayden Hughes
>the mage from the fifth multiverse Friendly reminder that Mor-I-Dun was defeated by a gay Demiurge
And literally the day this was released Ewing was tweeting about abolishing the monarchy on Twitter.
Jack Murphy
Wow he's vert anti-establishment. He wrote a pre-president Trump in 2000AD.
Yes and then the High Evolutionary got ahold of Him and gave him a Soul Stone and sent him into Counter Earth.
Aaron Gomez
>Have the 3 members of the Enclave always existed in comics? Not that I have read these stories myself, but yes, definitely, the Wiki is full of references to them from previous stories, and they had some prominence. marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Enclave_(Earth-616) There's a note regarding Zota in the wiki that's particularly interesting: >Carlo Zota's current activities and whereabouts are unknown. Because he's the one we see in here. This is full of deep dives.
Nicholas Lopez
The mask was woven by the ancestors of the covenant/three X during Arthurian times. The fourth Eternity will probably be picked up in another story (Hopefully by Ewing himself
Sebastian Morgan
This might be my favourite page of the year so far (alongside that superman spread from Snyder's Justice League). Ewing and Ward are gods when working together
Juan Moore
Can you post that Superman spread?
>This is full of deep dives. Have they all been listed yet?
Jackson Flores
Give how he tied MC with his Ultimates, i'd say he is very eager to pick up those stories again
Nathaniel Ross
Wish Ewing had gotten this much recognition when he was writing the Eternity War
Well it's not exactly a spread but it still is a pretty great page
>Have they all been listed yet? No! But that might change soon, I'm looking for the references to each issues to map their story. Maybe that way we can see who's actually missing in the narrative. That single Wiki page is a good start, because it talks about every other appearance of the Enclave and their four members.
Ethan Davis
Imagine if he did, the eternity mask could've shown up sooner. Been a masked member of the ultimates.
>Carlo Zota's current activities and whereabouts are unknown
>One of them "died" in Warlock's origin story >The other 2 died fighting the fantastic 4 >Leaving one available to continue on with this story
God, I love when the pieces fit so well even when it is completely unintentional. Makes it feel like these stories are alive
Easton Jackson
Somewhere out there in older universes, it is, it's just reverberating back to us in fiction
Jack Wood
Night Thrasher quoting TOAA
what happened to Roberto?
Eternity Mask and Dial H: can we Hypercrisis them?
BTW, who was Adam II?
Mason Diaz
It is neat how it all fits together so well. I’m still amazed at how Ewing brought back a one-shot character like Blind Justice and tied him into the Enclave.
Camden Nelson
>what happened to Roberto?
Hickman X-Men.
I'm happy we got a mention of him. Bobby not becoming Citizen X is the missed opportunity I'm saddest about
Roberto died in the X-Men War of the Realms tie-in.
Adam-II is basically Jim Hammond’s evil brother. I think his most recent modern appearance was in one of Brubaker’s Cap stories.
Brandon Johnson
>God, I love when the pieces fit so well even when it is completely unintentional. Makes it feel like these stories are alive Welcome, to the HYPERCRISIS
Ryan Torres
How do I start reading this? I mean, where does this story begins?
Bentley Hill
>I mean, where does this story begins? what a dumb question! It starts in Marvel Comics #1!
Isaac Thompson
Was this all just a way for Ewing to finally write more Night Thrasher in a new book?
>BTW, who was Adam II? He was another android created by Professor Horton (the one who created Jim Hammond-- the first Human Torch in Marvel Comics #1), and who appeared in the What If? #4 issue, the one that was also recently referenced in the History of the Marvel Universe (where we learn that Jim Hammond torched Hitler to death). In this we learned that the original Captain America died at the hands of Adam II, and Patriot, a hero who modeled himself after Steve Rogers (also Jeffrey Mace), took his place to keep the legend alive.
Curious thing also: the costume Adam II wears is very similar to Adam Brashear's costume as Blue Marvel, which hints at him being Adam I.
And here's the page where we learn about Patriot from History of the Marvel Universe. Of course, Steve didn't die in the previous incident with Adam II, but the What If? story was canonized nonetheless, so its events sans Captain America's death still happened.
Could you post the images featuring the pulp heroes from history of the marvel universe?
Wyatt Sanchez
Ewing writing Sunspot, Jimmy Woo, Night Thrasher and Blue Marvel as a new Illuminati like this was the best part
Andrew Hernandez
Sure, here's the Mystery Men that are featured here . I'm looking around because I think Waid might have referenced the "X-Men" before, but I'm not sure. It was probably in the research section.
You might be right, although the parallel seemed interesting to me considering his relevance in the investigation. Yes but it's important to clarify since their canon status varies and it was published alongside others that weren't. This is one of these that have been referenced in other places enough to be valid. And here's the fourth, in cryogenic freeze.
First Captain America (Steve Rogers) died from Water/Ice
Second Captain America (William Nyasaland) died from Fire
Dominic Lopez
>which hints at him being Adam I
Wouldn't that be Jim Hammond? If Adam II is Horton's second experiment, and Warlock and Korvac are III and IV.
Blake Mitchell
He gave Outlaw an amazing character's growth.
Ayden Howard
Does brashear count though? he's a new retcon of the 8th universe
Liam Ross
I always assumed the first Adam was the actual Adam from the bible. Btw Jim offing Hitler was already estabilished
Joseph Young
Pretending that no one remembers Human Torch's appearance in Captain America The First Avenger, OR that EVERYBODY KNOW'S what Marvel is doing for that character in the future installments so there's no point mentioning it or theorizing as to how they are setting it up in comics,
Just like how no one here ever mentions how cool a Jared Leto flashback as Robin sequence would be
Mod/Janitor, can you post some sort of FourchanGold image but for Fourchan's Fake ?
Jaxson Price
What does this word salad mean?
James Evans
I'm very happy with Waid is doing on History of the Marvel Universe, it and MC are some great dive points into the Marvel's lore
>Zorro Yeah, honestly i consider it canon in-universe already even if Ewing wasn't able to put him there (maybe the next chapter?)
Did you used the AI that completes the sentences for you? It sure feels like you did.
Tyler Edwards
Adam was retconned into existence back in the 7th multiverse, he was recreated alongise everyone else when it ended. The Adam I-IV denominations come from the biblical Adam. Blue Marvel sharing the name is just coincidence, he has nothing to do with the conclave's experiments.
Jeremiah Hughes
Human Torch Adam Warlock Eternals Agents of Atlas Old Timey characters, nostalgia________________way down the line_______________________Fantastic Four
Yea Forums never discussed Jason Todd in the Batfleck films and now there won't be any real aggressive posting discussing where Human Torch in Captain America The First Avenger came from or where he went , and I would like that to change. How the comics are being used to ramp up awareness for future MCU films etc.
Colton Hernandez
Warlock being named Adam is a coincidence as well: IIRC the High Evolutionary gave him the name Adam Warlock, before he was just known as HIM
Dominic Barnes
It was just an easter egg man
Jose Morales
Marvels starts the same way, there is an actual reason for them to use Jim and it isn't related to the MCU, considering they can now use Johnny.
>Yea Forums never discussed Jason Todd in the Batfleck Daily threads about who that costume belonged to up until JL came out and everyone stopped caring.
Elijah Rogers
Was Jim Hammond referenced in any way in The First Avenger? I don't remember this.
Nicholas Green
So if the mask makes you equal to your opponent, does that apply to those with powers?
Yeah, it was on the Stark Expo (not sure if it was called that way) along with the first prototype of a flying car. Not sure what the dude is about, pretty sure he is using Google Translate for its replies.
Hudson Lewis
... Why would I do that? Oh shit, it's been a while, I should rewatch it. And yeah I don't get these posts, I'm as confused as everyone else.
Jonathan Clark
That was a pretty neat design, shame it was only an easter egg
Jackson Parker
Another teaser has just been released... > Another Marvel Comics "Incoming" teaser has landed - this one foreshadowing "A Deadly Alliance" between Xavier, Magneto, and Apocalypse.
>This teaser is also framed by a puzzle piece - and the accompanying text actually calls it out this time, saying "Can you solve the puzzle before the heroes of the Marvel Universe?"
>The teaser seemingly ties into the current House of X/Powers of X X-Men relaunch, as the three characters have appeared allied in that series, and Xavier is holding a Krakoa blossom from that story.
>It also implies a direct connection between the four teasers shown so far for the first time - though it's unclear what that is beyond the puzzle motif that has framed three of the four images.
Eternity does “any they may face,” so yes. Or do you mean if someone with powers already wears it?
Evan Torres
It’s like those Point One books; a bunch of stories that lead into new series.
John Ross
Friendly reminder that: 1. Absolutely NOBODY gives a fuck about the X-Men anymore. 2. Yea Forums actively wants ALL mutants characters murdered as brutally as possible and their corpses raped. 3. Hackman's saga is gonna flop hard and should convince MarLEL to never publish a mutant character ever again.
Connor Brooks
This pasta and the Hulk one are the best on this board
Owen Butler
Not that user, but I think the question is, how would a non-powered person wearing Eternity Mask fight a person WITH powers?
Ethan Walker
big dick guns
Jaxson Green
It gives the wearer the power to put them on-par with their opponent. Lets say you fought Black Widow and Captain America. The mask will increase your strength and combat knowledge to fight them on equal grounds. If you fought Hulk, it would give you super strength, a healing factor, dynamic durability, etc..
Easton Evans
Okay, what about fighting the Human Torch? Or a telekinetic? Or Doctor Strange?
Angel Rogers
I assume it would give you the same or a decent counter
Easton Brooks
The first recorded use of the Eternity Mask had a regular person fight against the Black Knight for three days, meaning that the person gained enough proficiency to stand battle. In this case, someone wearing the Eternity Mask against Strange should, in theory, gain magic knowledge to counter his spells.
Gavin Robinson
From what i understood, it gives you the powers to be on par with the individual you are fighting, as long as your body allows it. So you'd be able to fight the Sentry since he is a human too, but the masks wouldn't even the ground for a cosmic entity
Aiden Nguyen
> (You) # >... Why would I do that? Isolation Protocal of Creation.
Dominic Gray
Yeah that's what I meant. You can still lose though. I think it just gives you a chance to win.
Robert Garcia
>Protocal Learn some actual English, goddammit. People would actually understand and debate with you properly.
William Collins
The limit of your body allowing it is never stated. Eternity sure as hell makes it sound like the mask will give you a fighting chance against literally anyone.
Michael Watson
>X-Men: Deadly Alliance X-Men: Deception and X-Men: Armageddon to follow?
Gavin Rogers
What's the Hulk one?
Michael Allen
Oh goody kino is on the menu. Ewing is using the Enclave which means he has a chance to reignite their war against the Inhumans. We get Ewing back writing the Royals and he can tie in his Hulk run because 1) you got Randy Jessup thing and 2) that Hulk/Inhuman crossover in the pages of the Hulk Special will serve to provided much continuity for him to wank it to.
Daniel Scott
This will be my final post on Yea Forums.
How can anyone think that this is scary for real ? How can anyone take seriously a horror book with the Hulk as a supposed to be frightening monster ? How can anyone see the Hulk as frightening for real in this book ? "Ouh, the Hulk is smiling, so unsetlling, this is so scary guys..." why are you lying to yourself like that ? You guys are just forcing onto yourself the new fade there will be in this hivemind of a board, with the blandest, tamest, most classicly safe comic book there can be, while your selective outrage is shitting on Bendis' Superman for things that would be praised if they were written by someone else, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO you have to shit on it even if it's good because the hivemind dictates you to do so !!!
No wonder you can't get laid, but guess what ? I got a girlfriend now. For the first time of my life after 24 years I finally got a girlfriend, and all that nerd fuss has become so irritating since. I'm just leaving for good now, I had plenty of fun with that board but I'm done. I wish you to get girlfriends to, maybe it will open your eyes about the hivemind that is destructing your self, but sadly, the hivemind is probably keeping you away from being able to seduce anyone, so you're most likely trapped in a vicious circle, and sadly, there is no Savage Dragon to save you from it. I just hope that this message will maybe help you to think by yourself a bit more and to get a girlfriend to.
Enjoy your book.
Austin Stewart
The problem with learning "proper" says to speak is that it makes it feel like I am controlling the bodies around me with magical phrases that when uttered correctly provide predictable results. And that's a very lonely place to be where you feel like you are all alone surrounded by demons or robots. You know, slang and even Shakespearean language differs from conventional speach. Anyway, I can see Marvel surprising is with an Agents of Atlas period piece sequel that ties I to Eternals, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. Makes a lot of sense to give the MCU more operatic tones to prepare for the wild settings of the Fantastic Four and the funny costumes of X-men.
Nathan Gomez
>while Morlak and Shinski passed away Shinski (taking on the name Crucible) killed Morlak, but Morlak was last seen getting sucked into a portal alongside Ayesha. Ayesha has since shown up alive, so he might still be too.
Owen Torres
Yup, it was especially convenient because not only had Blind Justice's identity never been revealed, making it perfect for this reveal, but thematically it's perfect because in Hamilton's first story (where he seemingly died, but in such a way that bringing him back was conveniently easy for Ewing) he sought out Alicia Masters because she was blind, and now he's blind as well.
Alexander Ward
The pages (from Marvel Comics 1000) are in this thread.
Joseph Evans
>How the comics are being used to ramp up awareness for future MCU films etc. He's turning up in comics for the 80th anniversary, because he was the first Marvel superhero. That's it. Same reason he was in the first issue of Marvels 25 years ago.
Ryder Rivera
Oh you’re a schizo
Levi Garcia
its not either
Luke Phillips
Thanks, user. If a "final post" being recycled as a pasta wasn't funny enough, there's that Savage Dragon/Vicious Circle line near the end.
Ayden Reyes
So what do we call him? Masked Raider? Masked Rider? Dark Avenger? Which fits better?
Boring thread of artificial discussion in a echo chamber of preset clues. Depart Mercenary!
Jayden Smith
Weird how you are posting in the hypercris threads multiple times, and that threads has the same amount of posters, yet you decided to came here to call everyone a shill.
Colton Jackson
This is it! Nice detective work. I need to read this in full.
Juan Sanchez
The conclave expected the wearer to have an intellect matching the combination of the other 3 members, so it's safe to assume the mask gives you the powers of whoever you face
Carson Rivera
Damn, him being a newbie would also explain why he was interviewing all those heroes and trying to figure out what motivates them. He probably found out about the Enclave and the Eternity Mask from reading his grandfather's notes. Fuck, to add further to this, the Angel isn't featured in any of the stories in Marvel Comics 1000, he only has a cameo in Eternity's page, which is either a weird omission, or a sign that Ewing didn't want to reveal the full mystery yet.
Isaac Gutierrez
My bad, i went back to it and i had in mind a line that simply wasn't there.
Elijah Bell
I'm not sure if "equal" means it also gives you the same powers as your opponent or just makes you tough enough to withstand them
Colton Watson
>he only has a cameo in Eternity's page, which is either a weird omission, or a sign that Ewing didn't want to reveal the full mystery yet I don't think many would've caught this, given how long it took and the specifics involved. And precisely that one, on the back, I couldn't figure out who it was.
Oh yeah, the guy on the right is the Golden Age Ka-Zar, I wonder if he'll get roped into Ewing's continuity cavalcade too, or if he's just there as an acknowledgement of the fact that he was in Marvel Comics #1.
Jeremiah Barnes
Here's the next piece of the puzzle. It looks like it's not just Ewing, but Hickman too. Based on the shapes of the puzzle pieces, it looks like we'll get 6 more teasers.
Namor, torch, the raider, Ka-zar and I guess that guy with the red cape is angel?
Gavin Mitchell
Oh my goodness this is so sad. Go tell Yea Forums how you are spamming your puzzle as campaign on Yea Forums and solving it for yourselves the very same people who made it.
Tyler Torres
Incoming is probably a "this is what's happening in 2020" teaser comic. Kind of like Marvel Point One a few years back.
Aiden Russell
As said, the Enclave expecting the wearer to gain an intellect matching their own combined implies the former, as well as that one peasant gaining sword skills on par with the Black Knight.
Oliver Evans
The mask reminds me of Multiversity's Pax Americana. So the eternity mask is a full face covering mask or is it a domino mask or is it both?
I guess that Daredevil is going to stick with the black tracksuit look for a while longer.
Nathan Stewart
The Angel's domino mask isn't the Eternity Mask. Hamilton/Blind Justice was the last known person to have the mask, and he presumably somehow passed it onto the new Masked Raider.
James Lee
Wait, what's that paper pinned up in the background? Something BAY EXPRESS Something(Bath?)HOUSE, FREE DELIVERY, and a phone number... I assume it must mean something, otherwise it's pretty random.
My procrastinating ass just fired up GIMP and put the pieces together, aligned and put them at the same size to see how they fit, and realized that the ends don't quite fit with the pictures we have so far, they all have the same sort of background at its ends, which indicate that there might be at least 9 pieces missing (3 on top, 1 in the middle, other 3 in the 3rd row, and 2 in the last row), for a total of 12 hint pieces in the puzzle.
Two Gun Kid and Hawkeye hung out for awhile when Hawkeye got thrown into the past and i'm almost starting to think it might get a shout out
Nicholas Brooks
Sam Wilson also met Two-Gun Kid in Hell, in his solo series... And you know who could really use an appearance? Him... He's been stuck in comic limbo for a while.
Twitter was a fucking mistake. I miss when people shared their dumb thoughts on pointless no traffic pro board forums
Daniel Ross
Those were the golden days. Felt like it wasn’t as easy to be stupid.
Jackson Wood
Twitter really is a cesspool for radicals from every side
Josiah Ross
I used to hang around in those forums, had some myself... Simpler times, Simple Machines... None of the nonsense that brought social media. But seriously this pissed me off not because of the "criticism" but the amount of balls it takes to just let your brainfarts rip in public.
Leo Richardson
He's a tripfag so at least you can filter him out
John Long
Since supposedly the Beehive was Deviant tech found by scientists, my question is in what issue do they recon and connect the Enclave with the Deviants?
Owen Rivera
Wow, nice catch. No way the two things aren't connected.
i doubt they promos will actually fit together at the end, would be very surprised if the do
Jeremiah Cook
He shouldn't have gone against someone who was calling himself Demiurge in the first place.
>Featuring the most mysterious masked rider of all!
The first arc of Ahmed's Exiles had them travel to this past and meet Ben Grimm as a pirate... Sam Wilson and Misty Knight were also there.
Brandon Moore
Eternity is a rebel. Some of it's best characters embody that idea the best. He is they and they are him. Brilliant.
Brayden Torres
Got it, nice.
Andrew White
It's interesting to realize that the Human Torch is a modern version of the Fire of Knowledge. Someone introduces fire into the world, and humanity is given knowledge to show their powers all new.
Gavin Stewart
Ewing's like a second Morrison in how deep his LORE is holy shit.
Justin Lewis
By that point, Rocafort was already off the book but i really like what the new artist did with those designs. Second really gives you the feeling of an old boiled ancient being and i love how he went with a Kirby-esque design for the Sixth.
Jose Anderson
I wonder if Hickman's page in Marvel Comics 1000, where he finds the tombs of the First Horsemen, has anything to do with this.
Ryan Ward
Maybe. Im just glad Ewing is being recognized for being one of the best architects marvel has had in any very long time. Eternity should have been a massive undertaking, not secret empire
I think the mask started in the 2nd universe. A rebel can access the magic if the mask, magic cane in during the 2nd iteration of eternity...sweet Christmas ewing!
It's still gonna take some particularly creative thinking to work. Say you're up against DOOM - so you become a super-genius magician with enormous willpower and self-belief...but how do you combat his armour? His robots and doombots? Do you get Infinity gem powers if your opponent has one?
Brandon Thompson
Is body-shaming like this still allowed?
Lucas Hall
I think this page hints towards the current Eternity being the creator of the mask ("My own"; "all of this is me") Also we can assume there was no magic up until the Fifth Multiverse.
Liam Clark
Holy shit, that 'actual Nazis' post!?!
Leo Gomez
CASUAL!!!
Matthew Myers
So did eternity make the mask to insure it would have the right heroes to keep it alive?
>Do you get Infinity gem powers if your opponent has one? Yes. Thats what the mask does. It makes you the equal of whoever you face. We've been given no indication that it has an upper limit.
Lincoln Bailey
Checking that guy's replies, he seems to think Ewing regularly calls people "Nazis" over anything, so he's trying to make a very absurd distinction between "real Nazis" and "anyone right of left"... Based on a strip directly referencing the 40's. The guy who casually associated Antifa into this was the biggest reach, though. The Phoenix Force, but not as Jean, the raw primordial force given intellect. That, or Exitar, large enough not to stand out among these Titans.
But, like, Black Knight has the ebony blade, and the other guy in that page still had a regular sword. Did it give his sword powers?
Caleb Taylor
It gave the sword durability. This page explains that all the mask does is give you a fair chance, and judging by the peasant who lasted 3 days against the Black Knight, it did the job just fine. They don't tip the scales to your favor, it only makes you equal.
Jaxson Ross
The Xandarian Worldmind or the Kree Supreme Intelligence, although they would look like small fires compared to those giants, they wuould fit the "tech of cosmic level" quota. Also kinda of wanted to see the place of origin of the Infinaut, maybe Pym will be able to access it someday.
I dunno how it fits but this guy predicted Mew years prior the first Pokemon game, it even has a similirar design.
Robert Cook
BUMP
Nolan Richardson
I'm about to start an Al "The Engineer" Ewing read-a-thon. Am I missing anything?

The Eternity Mask really reminds me of Zenkichi's Devil Style from Medaka Box. The whole "removes protagonist meta narrative powers so that its a fair fight" makes the Eternity Mask an inverse; instead of bringing down the mask raises up.
Aaron Rogers
Fuck you for having a better collection than me and fuck Marvel for not giving some of these the oversized trade format. You're missing Secret Warps by the way. And I was going to suggest you get the Loki Agent of Asgard oversized trade, but it would be redundant. I'm gonna buy that when it comes out. By the way I'm surprised no one has talked about Kibblesmith's series, specially considering the preview for the next issue has Loki going into the House of Ideas that appeared in No Road Home. I would've posted the preview days ago but I haven't been reading that series so I wouldn't want to talk outta my ass about it.
Tyler Wright
Is Secret Warps out? I'm sure I pre-ordered the trade but I haven't heard from the store yet.
The trade comes out in October 8th, so yeah, keep an eye on that. >I would pay twice cover price for that sweet, sweet Rocafort art in oversized. I'd definitely sell my Ultimates threads just to get an omnibus, if they actually put it out. I'm gonna take a look at that forum... Do they actually listen to them? Because that would be nice.
Jack Bailey
I am Deadpool Avengers Assemble #14AU
Xavier Peterson
I dig Kibblesmitih, he's funny
David Moore
IIRC Kid Colt was quite bent on not killing unless strictly necessary, more than most other "Kids"
but unlike Morrison he's not a drug addict trying to emulate Moore
Kevin Powell
Kibblesmith is doing a pretty good job, both him and Sims seem pretty interested in the cosmology stuff. I wonder what they'll build on it next (I want a new Sims' Darkhawk book asap)
Luke's power is that his skin is virtually impossible to pierce, and Jessica's power is super-strength.
Neither of them have a modified immune system.
Danielle Cage inherited super strength and impossible-to-piece skin and that's it.
She never got vaccinated.
Juan Ward
She could have gotten an aerosol version of the vaccine
Liam Taylor
She is a mutant, maybe she also got some healing factor
Aiden Sanchez
>Kibblesmith is doing a pretty good job, both him and Sims seem pretty interested in the cosmology stuff. Yeah, I gotta say that preview got me interested, I'm going to keep an eye on this and start reading from the beginning. I like it when writers build upon the lore and even dig aspects that weren't explored just to add to it instead of going "EVERYTHING YOU KNEW ABOUT _____ WAS WRONG!" >(I want a new Sims' Darkhawk book asap) Case in point... He did some seriously good stuff with Darkhawk, to the point Waid ended up using it for History of Marvel Universe.
She's a mutant so i doubt her abilities manifested as a baby. Plus her parents are fairly responsible and had night nurse do it.
Kayden Bennett
only issue I have is the In-Betweener being bundled with the Elders.
He's completely unrelated.
Ryan Butler
I think they were going by the characters shown in Thanos Quest, and after all, the In-Betweener was among them guarding the Soul Stone, so they assumed he was an Elder.
Carter Hernandez
Same, I love Thrash. His '92 mini was one of the first complete books I ever collected.
Lucas Phillips
I was happy to see that referenced too, he did a good job on that lore, and he seemed to wanting to keep working on that and i hope he'll be able to do it someday, but like the old times with Ewing, even him doesn't get good sales. Although they kept believing in Ewing nonetheless, so i hope they'll be as smart with Sims too.
He went pretty meta in Sleepwalker too, even though the premise of the book was more comedic than his Darkhawk: pic related (that actually connects with the Nexus Kibblesmith introduced and the Asgardian Library)
So is there a list of collections of Ewing's stuff at Marvel? I think Ultimates and that Ultron mini is the only stuff i have in print rn
Bentley Diaz
See He also did some minor stuff when he start working for a Marvel like a decade ago, but it was mostly co-writing. If you really wanna dig deep he has a crap ton of stuff with 2000 A.D.. He actually wrote a book which is apparently pretty good, but it gets bad towards the end.
Nathaniel Clark
This guy pretty much posted everything he's done aside from short stories and certain arcs, but it's all there for the most part. You Are Deadpool is crazy fun, I remember we played each issue in here while voting for the items and directions each thread.
The house of ideas returns? I thought it would be a one time thing
Juan Rodriguez
You are talking about No Road Home? It was actually introduced before that. Look like it is being used as a Nexus to all the source of knowledge or at least every story
Logan Watson
>What is it with demons and stealing people's marriages? Screams "repression" if you ask me. Fucking lovely.
I'm really curious about what the ninth cosmos will be about since every one of them has a title or have "introduced" something (besides Infinity and Eternity, but one would argoue the things they created are the stories itself). Also i wonder if it will be the Multiversal version of Entropy and everything will somehow end up as Eternity being the main cosmo again, representing yet again how both past and future stories influence the present but yet it is the latter who always stay the most important one.
It's TOAA's house, that's why it was located in Long Island, IIRC Stan Lee and others lived there for a while The wait for this issue is torturing me I haven't been this hyped for a comic in years
Nathaniel Nguyen
It might look like the hulk or something like it. We'll know with immortal hulk #25...maybe
You're missing Ultron Forever, where he introduces characters that would go on to appear again in a number of his other books and is the first time where he writes Hulk.
You've never seen the 90s Spider-man cartoon? Thunderer was my favorite of the golden age characters that appeared
Charles Reyes
So how does Thor relate to all this? Was there anything notable in Journey into Mystery before he took over the book?
Austin Stewart
>It gave the sword durability That's just confused me more. Ebony blade is supposedly indestructible, and capable of cutting through almost anything. Can a normal sword go up against it very long, regardless of who's wielding it?
Kayden Lopez
>She is a mutant When did that come up? (I've not read much past Secret Wars)
Liam Wright
Uhh Human Torch killing Hitler has been canon for decades
David Phillips
>Now, then and forever (aka Eternity) I dig it.
Jace Foster
Nevermind, obviously it's future Danielle that info comes from.
Jacob Taylor
>Defeats a Beyonder
Kevin would have been really useful during the eternity war
Lincoln Johnson
I think Hulk might become some bringer of cosmic balance, like Galactus. Although i'm open to everything, so far the covers have been pretty faithful, but Hulk covered in stars could also mean a cosmic awareness similar to Genis.
Ian Morris
He wasn't a Beyonder
Aiden Phillips
Ewing said that the story takes place in the 9th cosmos, billions of years in the future
Josiah Lewis
That's the reason i think the new Eternity can't be Hulk, since the story takes place inside of it
Joseph Watson
I wouldn't be surprised if that was something Ewing was trying to slowly set up. He could've been ace of the eternity watch, which is a team full of aces already
Andrew Collins
I miss this team and us avengers. It was a fun time
>A Multiverse where TOBA actually wins and reigns supreme The Empty Hand's wet dream.
Jaxon Long
Ewing described the issue as "horrific with an ethereal, alien sadness", so maybe Hulk chooses to become "the monster" and since he's bound to TOBA through Gamma and the entire cosmos cowers before the "breaker of worlds" it might be a cosmos of destruction and hopelesness
Always thought the Comedian was more of a reference to the Angel than Peacemaker. We already know Moore combined several obscure heroines from different companies into Silk Spectre
Robert Long
i think this is actually a possibility. We know so far he never won, since all the Multiverses obeyed to TOAA when he assembled them (besides the fourth, but he was roaming around)
Levi Johnson
>Always thought the Comedian was more of a reference to the Angel They do look alike
Ayden Edwards
Idk if it's a matter of winning. TOBA is TOAA's shadow/absence. If Devil Hulk, a shadow born of the power of the one below all, is this multiverse's Galactus equivalent, then TOBA might have a greater relevance than what he had in the previous universe
James Walker
>Multiverse where TOBA wins >Everything's gamma irradiated horrors and makes the Dark Multiverse look like a kiddie zone fucking imagine
What? He's alive. He was in doctor strange recently at the end of galactus devouring the hell dimension. I thought the living tribunal helped keep the balance and was a judge if things were out of whack
Daniel Anderson
>The guy who casually associated Antifa into this was the biggest reach, though. but antifa are terrorist assholes
Justin Green
That would also be a reasoning for a proper Eternity War, we know TOAA doesn't want its creations to ruin the balance (that's the reason the First Firmament is getting reformed by the other cosmos) so i assume he wouldn't let something like that be a thing for too long.
Caleb Myers
Not the same Tribunal, the new one is the Adam that Starlin used in Infinity Revelations. He has been the LT since secret wars.
Angel Diaz
I want to pair him and Nuke together
Daniel Gomez
Itd be cool if Ewing found as way to incorporate the space knights and or captain universe into his new space stories
Aren't they out of reach copyright-wise? Or is that just ROM? Also wtf Marvel, you got the license for Conan again, start to get the other lost IPs too.
Oliver Diaz
>Jessica Jones and Daredevil pulled into a cosmic story Yeah, nah. Fuck that trash.
Colton Barnes
I think that's just ROM, but he's also the most famous spaceknight
Andrew Lopez
Just ROM, they others keep showing up from time to time. Also what is even up with the ROM's license? Last i've heard it was at IDW (like most toy-related licenses) but they really aren't doing much with it lately.
Joseph Ross
I wonder if there is a chance of the fourth cosmos to turn out to be related to Entity, they both share a passion for mystery.
Just a bit of critical thinking will tell you that the puzzle pieces are what’s upcoming in 2020 and beyond, not that it’s a single story
But this is Yea Forums so
Liam Anderson
that's quite a fail in lore-checking, though which is weird because he otherwise did a great job. then again, it's not the first time the In-Betweener has been referenced as an Elder... somebody should make it so he was an Elder so focused on Equilibrium that Chaos&Order used him as base for their balancing force, a mirror to Galactus' own origins and role as balancing between Eternity&Death
this page should be referenced more in HYPERCRISIS threads She's likely a relative: Now, Then, Never...
Thomas Long
the mask is a piece of ETERNITY. it can make a sword as good if necessary to balance the scales
Isaiah White
Hulk is the new Galactus.
Mr. Immortal is the new Eternity. Franklin Richards wonders what he did wrong with his life to deserve it.
Landon Smith
death during Eternity War.
and currently everything in the Reality Machine is working
Cooper Perez
Lifebringer was a good look. My favorite thing that Ewing for the big G
"out of whack" for the Tribunal is often different than "out of whack" for mortals.
TOBA is part of the Natural Order, no reason it can't win in some realities.
Marvel can use pretty much everything except Rom himself
who is this guy?
Jason Baker
I think this is a spoiled character. Before he was a force of nature, a menace. But because people started to like him, they needed to make him a positive spin. Not planet eater but life bringer. Its ok, but i feel the old is lost.
Luis Long
>Can eternity make himself that small I mean, probably yes. But Entity isn't an Eternity, i was theorizing a connection with him an the fourth cosmos since they seem to share the same intentions. More precisely, are the cosmic rays connected to the fourth cosmos?
>who is this guy? Scientist from an alien world who wanted to know more about the universe, that's also the reason he liked the FF. Pic related for a little origin.
>Scientist from an alien world who wanted to know more about the universe, that's also the reason he liked the FF. Pic related for a little origin. so, he's Marvel Krona. His origin is also similar to Kronos
Landon Phillips
I wonder if they'll put out more teasers before solicits in a couple weeks.
Brandon Garcia
I liked his earth x version as a deterrent for celestials to keep their numbers in check.
