It's so popular in Europe that they just air the episodes as they get them, and this season they've been serious out of order because many of the episodes are new animation heavy.

Reflkdoll took so long to finish (they'd thought they were gonna get it months ago) because it had 3 new transformation sequences and they had to do both heroes standard stock footage moves with their swapped forms.

This episode is good by itself and as part of Kagami/Marinette arc. They introduced Kagami in Riposte. Rivalry starts in Frozer. Rivalry develops in Animaestro and it resolves in Ikari Gozen. If leaks about Miracle Queen are true the development sticks and have consequences. Marinette perfectly fits her role as protagonist.
The show actually treats Kagami with respect. She is definitely not just training wheels.

However it's animated to an English scratch track by studio people and later dubbed with official VAs so that's probably why it doesn't quite match.

That's why it -has- to happen, Gabriel is naturally pathetic. He is like the akumas he makes, a garden-variety sad man who happened to luck into superpowers that could fix his problem. A satisfying finale would be the heroes getting the character development they need to save Hawkmoth from himself (and throw him in a cell) and the courage to face true evil like Lilamoth and defeat it. They need to be capable of dealing with both gray and black.

Lord, I'm glad they changed it. The other aspects of the show are executed competently, but it was the love square that really drew me in. There will always be time for group-centered stories later, so I'm glad we have this intimate backstory stuff now.

There's not going to be group stories. The love square is all the show is. 2 more seasons of this a finale movie where presumably they finally have the reveal and get together, and that's all she wrote. If networks want more Thomas says other seasons will focus on new characters.
