That weird sense of anatomy is seen throughout the real world in this show. It seems intentional to bring out the inherent awkwardness of some of the characters. It makes them feels a bit more real and grounded.

Just watch the show again and wait til mid or late October, we should hear a definitive answer then. People saying netflix is just fulfilling a contract and not giving it any promotion is how they treat many of their shows these days, especially animation.

I kind of figured it's more that Reggie would be too imperfect for Connelly. Connelly seemed to like Reggie enough, but I imagine if they got to know each other better, Con would find some of Reggie's habits and attitudes repellent. So we'd either get more delicious Reggie suffering, or more Reggie getting her shit together.

I don't think any of those belonged to her. She's only ever worn that one pair of shades. I think it was honestly just supposed to be a gag akin to the old gone fishin' and caught a boot scene from old cartoons.

The original idea and character concepts are all hers. She sketched out the overall plan for the story and wrote a handful of the episodes. She was quietly let go early on in production and most of the heavy lifting was carried out by a hybrid production team (Cartel along with Puny, I think).

She's still listed extensively on the credits because she legally has to be but I have no idea how it'd work for a hypothetical season 2.

I'm kinda leaning away from any of them being former humans. Just because there's not enough evidence. Though on that note, there isn't really a ton of evidence to prove Elmer was actually from Bethune either. It's also possible his limbs are replacements. He did say his body started to deteriorate. So maybe he just picked up/made spare parts along his journey. And I agree with Elmer was a lot more sane than Todd and Esther were during spring break.

There's definitely gonna be some head butting between her and Reggie. Mostly from Reggie. Even if she accepts Gwen at first little things will cause her to regress on that here and there. As for Esther, I think she'll mostly gush over Todd and Gwen being cute together, while inwardly feeling a bit down until she can find some love of her own. Todd I think will start coming to Endless even less than before. He's moving on a bit. There will definitely be a regression for sure. But he has a rock to stand on with Gwen. Unless there's some dysfunction lurking in the shadows.

The real question though is, how stable IS Gwen? Is she so normal that she can't even go to Endless? Does that even matter? Would she care at all for the place? Does she have some dark, brooding past we have yet to learn about? There's 1000 questions and more that we're left pondering.

I don't think you don't need to be really dysfunctional to enter Endless. Todd has a hard home life but he's pretty stable. As long as you have a key, you should enter it.

Stable might not be the best choice of word, I'll admit. But from what we've seen, everyone who has gone to Endless has some sort of problem. Reggie doesn't want to grow up, Todd wants to be free of responsibility, Esther to be free of pressure, Elmer to escape his empty life. Ogden is the odd one out, but he was four and dragged in by Reggie. But you have to agree that it's a bit much to just be a coincidence.

But that's kinda the point isn't it? We have no idea what the rules really are. As much lore as we're given, they still left us with even more questions. Maybe you don't need to be messed up in some way. But maybe you do? What's the cut off for such an inquantifiable thing as being "troubled"? We need more data, more evidence. More episodes!

I do wonder how long it would be before Reggie introduces Connelly to Endless. Would it be right away you think? Or would she hold off just a bit, still unsure of her feelings. Then in those final days off summer, the prospect of being separated ever growing, she'd take the leap. She'd let Connelly into her own little world, both physically and emotionally. It'd create a tie between them that would solidify their friendship forever.

In a way, Endless is literally an MMO. Lots of couples keep on touch via MMO fantasy worlds when they're far apart for too long. Maybe if Conelly doesn't get too weirded out by Reggie's "special place", and they figure out how she can make her own key, they could agree to meet up in Endless every few days. A private fantasy land free of prying adults would be great for any new/exploring romantic couple. Realistically though, Reggie would get distracted each time and get Conelly into doing stupid cringey Endless bullshit with her until Conelly realizes that Reggie's autism is becoming less and less cute each time.

If they do go the couple route, it would be cool if they explore the idea of people not being perfectly compatible. Rather than just have them be happy as can be right off bat.

Yeah, Endless is filled with people they never made. The pilot called it 'Party Island' and Reggie said she made everyone there. But in the official show they find out they can create their own creatures there and the residents were possibly humans once. The Endless islanders remind me of something along the lines of deranged Winnie the Pooh characters, with Reggie serving as their Christopher Robin. Like the residents of the Hundred Acre Woods, most of the islanders can arguably be considered to be adults, living independent lives, but most of them also have childlike mentalities.

That's a pretty fair comparison I'd say.

Why do we assume the purpose of the islanders is to be playmates? Yes, they follow Reggie around as a kind of local celebrity but who else wouldn't be amazed by a person who shows off their super strength, especially considering how child-like a lot of them are. A lot of people blame Darryl but the last time Reggie saw him she was 4. And in Reggie's Dad Forever it seems like she doesn't actually remember all that much about him other than a few fun facts. I don't think he sowed those seeds in her. I honestly just think that she's a creative type of person and everyone around her paints a picture of adulthood as giving all that up. So she makes an effort to resist that kind of change in her life.

How does Reggie even remember him from when she was 4? That's practically toddler age. I didn't remember shit from that time in my life even when I was Reggie's age. Maybe its set up for Dustin to reveal something about Daryl. It could be he's more of ass than we know of. I don't think he'll be a outright monster or abusive really, but Judy's words of him being a manchild would be shown. That way, Reggie could be warned for what she may become.

Well I think she was already warned about that with Sadmantha. But having an episode like Dustin's Dad Forever, set up to mirror Reggie's episode would be cool. As for the end point, spring break usually coincides with Easter to some extent, but I've seen them happen any time between March and April.

I think his brother leaving was a flashback, and the actual timing of the episode was just him and the jennifers. If Aaron left in January, that would still fit in the timeline without jamming it too close together. (ie: took a semester off to work a job and get some savings makes sense considering his home life)

I dunno about it being a flashback. It looks like there's the same amount of snow here and there on the ground during both Reggie's birthday and when Aaron leaves for college. So him taking a semester off to work or whatever definitely fits the timeline. The question is, how big of a time gap occurs after that? Extended-Shapeshifting is pretty strenuous to a gem. The probability of Spinel breaking Reggie's backback by reverting to her usual size is pretty high. Shapeshifting at those levels seem even more exhausting too.

If you don't like it by the first couple episodes, it's likely not for you. Most are pretty short aside from the first episode so a sitting shouldn't take too long to see the first couple ones.

The first few episodes are slow though. It gets less comfy at episode 10 when Reggie's road of suffering starts to pick up.

Yeah if she's not Judy's doll, this is the most direct and therefore most likely answer. She feels abandoned on behalf of puberty itself because Reggie rejected those books and puberty which is inevitable.
