Is there anything creepier than a character getting turned to stone?
Is there anything creepier than a character getting turned to stone?
People choosing to watch Steven Universe when many other good shows are out there
I mean, isn't it kind of like dying?
Pretty much except you need a soft rather than a phoenix down.
its implied you remain conscious.
Creepy....or hot?.....*whips out meat scepter*
Dammit Psu, can't you just google weird porn like a normie?
Depends on the setting and type of magic. Sometimes they're portrayed as immobilized but still conscious, other times they're not, but there's a way to reverse the effect.
I've always considered it like being frozen in ice.
it's good
A character turning into a baby. Seriously think in the existential implications, you are your experiences and knowledge imagine having all that rewinded until you are a lump of flesh with nothing of your previous personality, is like getting erased out of existence and replaced by a baby clone of you.
>when many other good shows are out there
careful user, it almost sounds like you're implying steven universe is a good show there and we all know that's not the case, whether we deny it or not.
Its pretty creepy yeah, which of course means people fap to it.
Not kidding either just look on /d/ sometime and you'll find it
A chained character like this.
What about turned into a a baby but you keep you intelligence? Like in the 90s Spider-Man Cartoon?
So, dying.
I was creeped out in that episode where Dexter got brainwashed into only saying OMELETTE DU FROMAGE
The people who get off on it. Abusefags in general, honestly.
In that case is OK, but if you turn into a baby without your memories you might as well be dead
I think you are confusing the episodes, Dexter wasn't brainwashed he still couldn't say anything more that Omelete Du fromage.
The episode where he becomes retarded and DeeDee takes advantage of him was fucked up though.
A character getting turned into a toilet.
Yeah, it makes me rock hard.
Nice one.
In fiction, normal ice is usually just a cryogenic chamber.
A character getting turned to stone while still retaining their awareness.
HOLY SHIT I'M SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT
I hate that and all its implications, but I didn't want to bring up this shit myself because fuck that plot twist.
Also characters just casually reading your mind and/or forcing you to do shit on their whims. Hate 'em all.
Just to make that second point clearer: characters reading/altering your mind when they're the heroes or it's presented as a good thing.
If a villain does it, it's actually less creepy because you're not supposed to be looking at that and thinking "yeah, right on"
Rent free
This isn't about horse show's ending is it?
>Is there anything sexier than a character getting turned to stone?
I still prefering using esuna, thanks
A stone turning into a character.
Nah, what's REALLY creepy is people getting attacked by tentacles. It always fills me with this strange, indescribable feeling whenever I see it.
jej
jesus thats dark
I mean, part of someones personality is their brain chemistry. But, yeah. Its really fucked up
Isn't it a golden needle that breaks stone?
I work at an aquarium and I know exactly how you feel. The octopuses creep the fuck out of me. Their tentacles are sensory organs for touch, taste, and sight to an extent. They're partial autonomous and spent lots of time just... touching stuff. I remember helping feed the Pacific Giant we have and he reached out of the fucking water to play with my arm. She's friendly and I expected the slime but the weight caught me offguard. It was 6 lbs of python muscle. She slid up my arm and started playing with my left nostril before I pulled her off.
The scariest thing... would be if Sinbad got another TV show.
Dancing shadows on the wall?
Candlejack
I don't get it.
Twin 1 feels whatever Twin 2 feels. Twin 2 is being orally tortured.
Ooooh.
Man, these transformers comics really didn't fuck around, did they?
The writers realised the only people reading Transformers comics were 40+
Female characters being swallowed whole by big monsters has always made me feel kinda funny
Is there a name for this kind of fetish?
Slowly falling into inescapable darkness while remain conscious. Center of the planet / black holes / void of space etc.
Getting eaten alive.
Just petrification.
when they melt, you know that thing when all the skin flesh and organs melt and liquifies and it just drips from the bones, god thats a terrible way to die
Loss of limb is always terrifying to me. Anything done surgically is always more impactful than any sort of magical misfortune.
I really didn't like Osborn's fate in ASM #800. It's one thing to go to jail, but it's something else if you also believe that you are someone else when you're not.
Yep. Magics weird because it allows impossible things but generally it also means it can just be undone and everything fixed so long as someone finds you and can help.
Surgically removing something or changing you via surgery your kind of fucked. You can't undo having parts removed or your body changed.
You must find Buddhism and Hinduism kinda disturbing, huh?
>but circumcision is completely fine
>uncut dicks are weird
I can think of a couple
being eaten alive by bugs
being raped by bugs
having your body forcible sewn together in to an abomination
being slowly crushed
Thats not the same as we cut your limbs off.
Yeah, it's more like cutting off your eyelids.
I don't know what it is, but hypnosis, especially forced hypnosis, has always fucking petrified me, and not just the comically exaggerated type you see in cartoons with swirly eyes and shit, I mean in real life too. Just the fact that there exists a real state of mind that you can be brought into, sometimes unknowingly, where a stranger can fuck around with your subconscious, alter memories and personality traits, and program you like a fucking robot to do things when you're awake that you're helpless to resist is just sickening to me. People - especially hypnotists, I seem to notice - always parrot the 'hurr durr all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, you can't be made to do anything you don't want etc etc' line, but I've seen enough demonstrations and done enough extensive research to call bullshit on that. It's all about context. You can tell someone 'shoot that man' and they won't, sure, but if you tell them 'in front of you is an unneeded training dummy, feel free to take this gun and fuck it up' suddenly they'll be a lot more compliant. It's just freaky to me.
Howie Mandel, a famous germaphobe, got put under on TV once and was made to go around shaking everyone's hand, something he refused to do in daily life. When he woke up later and saw what he'd done, he was incredibly upset and had to go to therapy. 'Can't do anything you don't want' my ass.
It's for all these reasons and more I would never attend hypnotherapy (people have recommended it for me a couple times, hell no) nor even fraternize with a hypnotist for that matter. I feel like people sleep (heh) on how scary and powerful this shit is. You can CHANGE someone.
When you get turned into something that isn't stone, like wax. Or ice.
>tfw petrification is my fetish and this was the last good scene in years
Well Buddhism kinda emphasizes right off the bat that reality is broken and reincarnation is actually terrible.
Always thought the joker gas from BTAS was far more unsettling than just killing a few people. I guess it's something one can recover from, unlike outright murder, but it had some very rapey vibes if I recall right. I might be getting this wrong, but didn't it have some wierd dissasociative/ locked-in-syndrome effect? Seems like that'd be pretty traumatic to me, and that's without a psycopath looming over you playing demented mind games.
Non bait answer - infinite immortal imprisonment
Bait answer - I wanna fuck a rock
Petrification and ASFR.
May I by any chance get the source?
Has this happened in any modern cartoons?
It'd be hot AF seeing Star get "stoned".
I thought the gas killed people for the longest time, and it just caused a rigor mortis like effect but with your face
destroyed statues near a creature that change people into stones, and the reveal that the curse is left for the heroes that defeats it.
OK KO?
That's what it originally did. They just glossed over the last part for the show.
not modern but the Conan the Barbarian cartoon, where it starts off with his family getting turned to stone cast by a curse from a Snakemen
Miraculous Ladybug has a lot of petrification scenes.
Any good ones? Bonus points if the person gardually turns to stone and reacts to it.
I want to fuck Shiklah if you know what I mean.
Gravity falls but probably not the characters you’d want it to happen to.
Not really. Most scenes are very brief with random citizens petrified from afar. Style Queen episode has decent scenes with characters turned into gold.
I'll check it out. Thanks!
Yeah, the random townies weren't great. Pacifica and Wendy becoming a tapestry was hotter.
Yes, possesion. Be it by an alien parasyte or demon. Stripped of your will. Or one step closer to horror, altered mind that destroyed your person and now you are just a meat puppet.
Thats really creepy.
Hot AF
Well yes, but at least with reincarnation your life end, there is a clear point that your life is over and a new life begins. With characters being turn into babies the other character always act like the baby is the same person that the previous one even though they wouldn't be since their life is now different and they no longer have the same personality.
There was a singer that forced you to keep dancing and talking in rhyme or get petrified if you stop.
Wanna hear something creepy about fungus parasites? For a long time scientist thought the fungus controlled the mind of the insect forcing him to its will, but recently they discover that in actuality the fungus grew roots around the bug nervous system using it as a form of secondary nerves leaving the central brain alone. Meaning that the fungus hijacks the body but leaves the brain aware but incapable of controlling the actions of the body.
Mr. Krabs got turned to stone in the Spongebob Movie. He even shed a tear that permeated through him. Imagine what else he oozes[/spoilers]
I really hate anything that completely alters the mind and/or body. It's honestly a fate worse than death because you pretty much get replaced by somebody else and never get a proper death.
Also anything that has to do with being vaporized/atomized/etc. Imagine just no trace of you being left. What's even worse is when characters use tools/weapons that can easily vaporize someone and they just toss them around carelessly like it's no big deal.
That episode where Demona turned everyone to stone and smashed them all fucked me up as a kid.
Time to tap to mushrooms I guess
Thats even more creepier.
But i dont think that the fungus works this way. It doesnt controll the bug, but flood the body with hormons and signals that motivates the bug to do certain behaviours.
Like shizophrenics, dogs with rabbies or the virus that stops mices feeling fear.
Mind control and other Psychic Powers
Not only is it the largest invasion of privacy possible, it can also be an invasion of autonomy.
Alot of the time there is little to no indication that the power is being used.
>I really hate anything that completely alters the mind and/or body.
Me too. It's a really fucked up fate. I just wish I didn't find it so sexy.
"Bobby, you're gay."
Character getting turned into silicone.
See
Like you wouldn't believe.
Being buried alive
Agreed. There’s something about that just doesn’t feel right.
When the gravity stops working, and everyone just fly up into the sky, there used to be a code lyoko episode around that
I think it has to do with the ability to recover from such actions. If you get shot, there's a chance you can recover from it unless it instantly killed you. If you get a limb chopped off you can still recover from it except now you just lost a limb. We obviously don't have the technology to fully grow back limbs and prosthetics aren't at their fullest potential right now. Less room to recover fully there. Getting burned is pretty bad. Then once you hit stuff like vaporization there is no turning back. You're gone that's it see ya latter bye bye. There's also no body left except for maybe a pile of ashes if you're lucky. A lot of shows will just have this be some ordinary occurrence like in Star Trek where random redshirts get vaporized. Once they get the problem sorted out they just seem to forget about what just happened to that poor redshirt who got deleted. If you die from most other means there's still a body to bury but with being vaporized there is nothing left. It's scary.
If gravity stopped working, I'm sure everyone and everything would fly at mach speed sideways
Don't worry. The television industry has safeguards to prevent that sort of thing from happening.
This, I can imagine other powersets having both good and evil characters, but telepathy is pretty much the only one I really consider to be exclusively evil.
>character uses Phantom-Zone type device
>device gets destroyed
>Oh no! I'm trapped in limbo foreverrrr!
Consider time fuckery. You don't just vanish, you never were.
>altering your mind when it's presented as a good thing.
This actually freaks me out a bit. Sometimes I kind of hope that neurology doesn't progress too much, just because of all the disturbing things it could potentially lead to.
