OMAHA

It was boring, especially for child me.

Shit taste desu

Honestly that was the problem, it was targeted at too young of an audience.

100% this. It was too smart for the room but not "smart" enough for an adult crowd. I'm just mad there's no DVD or streaming release that's readily available.

Unique doesn't automatically mean good you fucking hipster. Sometimes something hasn't been done before because it's a shit idea.

Neck yourselves, kids are capable of much more than LOL RANDUMB humor seen in shit like Cow and Chicken and Ed Edd n Eddy

They just kept playing around the premise, it was like the whole show was an excuse to lull a sheep into a sense of routine and autopilot for some ulterior motive

This is true. It was pretty laidback and was loaded with great word puns but it was pretty tame compared to the other cartoons at the time. That's not saying it wasn't but it's obvious why it didn't hit it didn't last.
>With an emphasis on more "sophisticated" (in particular, literal) humor, using multiple forms of rhetoric from the characters to the plots, it was more popular with older audiences. It was also unusual in featuring many comic references to film-making and television broadcasting.
>At the time, the premiere of Sheep in the Big City was the highest-rated premiere for a Cartoon Network original series.
>The animation services for the series were handled by Rough Draft Korea. This was Cartoon Network's first original series produced by the animation studio Curious Pictures, who would later go on to produce Codename: Kids Next Door in 2002.

too many puns

Press F to pay respects to the Ranting Swede.

Same reason Untalkative Bunny didn't catch on

Humor's too highbrow

KND is fucking garbage, it's one of the big reasons why Sheep got cancelled
> a third season was planned to begin airing in 2003 and was briefly in production, however it was cancelled at the last minute when the channel greenlit Codename: Kids Next Door, which debuted on December 2002.
What a absolute traversty, little kids killed an innocent sheep

The early 00s was full of innovative cartoons like that. George and Martha is another one.

That’s true but this show wasn’t that user, it did not click with kids.

this, felt like a british show or something

Probably one of CN's best written comedy shows, but I also think that might have been its downfall, seeing as the type of humor that it dealt with isn't that popular with CN's target demographic.
Another of CN's great comedy shows, Ed Edd n Eddy, also had great writing, but had a bigger focus on slapstick, which is more popular with CN's demographic, so it could survive longer by having a broader appeal.

it was so unfunny that was funny

you really need to have high IQ to get humour like that

It peaked after it's bumper.

The artstyle was fucking shit, every animal have their eyes placed on top of each other and the General guy never opened his mouth. Compared to the other Cartoon Cartoons, Sheep is the ugliest of them all

>Another of CN's great comedy shows, Ed Edd n Eddy,
Fuck off, that show is overrated as hell and sucked compared to Dexter's Lab, PPG, Johnny Bravo and Courage

This show was based

I think it was a little bit too mad for some people.

How does it feel posting an image of a character that's obviously angry about his filename?

I love KND, but that still pisses me off. CN even wanted a SITBC movie, but Moe was too busy working on KND. It's not fair.

>(reads filename)
>"ANGRY! I am an ANGRY Scientist! Why are you not doing the posting with the correct naming?!"

Many older CN shows got fucked over, Cow and Chicken,Courage and Samurai Jack had movies planned, but didn't happen at the end

main character doesnt speak

The humor was too “out there”

Another unfortunate result of what happened in NYC, I think. That Mooninite promo ruined everything.

I liked the ranting swed

johnny bravo is a mixed bag

Johnny Bravo is just a meme show because 99% of the content is shit

Bauhaus: The show

That was in Boston.

Not only was that actually in Boston but it was YEARS later. It fucked some things up but these shows were long dead.

This and it also had those odd sketches for some reason.

The CN president who gave us the best years of the network resigned in shame after all the legal shit his stunt caused, and CN was never the same since.

Betty Cohen was better desu, she is the reason we got Cartoon Cartoons in the first place

t. Zoomer

Who?

Sheep in The Big City was an outlier in a sea of very high energy cartoons. We usually watched everything but my older brother wasn't a fan of this and he often had control of the remote

> Very high energy cartoons
Only if you have ADHD

>KND is fucking garbage,

i wanted to like it but it was just kinda.. boring to me

in comparison to everything else

Mike, Lu and Og was shit desu

I find cow a chicken pretty boring for some reason

I fucking loved this show as a kid, idk why everyone is saying it was boring or slowpaced, it was literally wall-to-wall gags, much denser than the average CN show at the time. The only thing I can complain about is that it lost steam in the second season, becoming less dense and more repetitive.

Best first episode of almost any CN show, cept maybe Cow and Chicken's pilot.

The only thing I remember from it was the superhero Turtle

>All these people saying the humor was too "out there"
What fucking timeline am I living in? The show's humor was understandable to kids. I liked, my friends loved it and older cousins did too. Its humor, if anything, is similar to classic Simpsons which makes sense since both SITBC and Simpsons ape from Rocky and Bullwinkle.
