I went into season 2 hoping it would be better, but every episode was worse. Top Boy is such a dumb fucking idea.

Wasn't Salem a puppet half the time, and cut some of the budget for CG Salem. But I don't think the show aimed at talking familiars in general, and wanted them to be more demons.

All this effort seems like it's setting this up for disappointment.
