JSA Storytime: Gen13

JLA Classified was way better.
JSA Classified ran out of good stories very quickly, but we did get those shitty moon nazi ones out of it.
There was also supposed to be a Superman Classified series, but that got canned. Wolfman eventually got his story (Man and Superman) published last year.
Legends of the Dark Knight was also fantastic for at least 50% of it.

The real sticking point here is the nuts and bolts of this shitshow issue. It's a montage of Rose and Thorn(of all people, fucking what?) moving through various futures. You'd think this would involve her getting into various wacky adventures, but no. She's just talking to people. She's just talking to President Supergirl, she's just talking to Terry McGinnis, she's just talking to Kamandi, and finally she's just talking to Tommy Tomorrow. Bendis really proves his rep of never shutting the fuck up here. Oh, and no, they are never talking about anything interesting. Because of course not.

I don't remember JLA Classified very fondly but I've, hmmmm, not often hit on a modern JLA book that I really liked, YMMV.

Yeah, the thing that always gets me with anthos is the oversized price for the greater amount of content. With Previews, you could at least, if your shop owner were attentive, say something like "I'm not buying that arc solicited for 14-15 because I hate that writer".

Also some dc insider posted last night saying everyone in DC hates Bendis and this Legion will last like 6 months. I remember that arc got so delayed it ended up finishing either right before Identity Crisis came out or after it had started, so it ended up coming across as a cruel joke from DC, especially with a running joke about Sue being pregnant.

I'm honestly surprised that despite its reputation, Gen13 managed to remain a thing for so long. Not complaining though. Unlike, say, Witchblade, Gen13 is actually good, and deserves to remain in print.

Going to space was cool in general, but that arc lasted way too long. I guess he cared enough to bring Stern's Starman back, but it probably didn't have to take like 17 issues.
Meeting Grundy on Swamp Thing's blue planet was really neat, but then killing off one of Moore's GL's was kind of dumb.
