I had no idea who he was. You were right, holy shit.

Making bank and not being in the limelight probably rules though.

it’s better that way

I like him. He always has a smile on his face. Seems like a chill out dude

He can't keep getting away with it

sounds like he won

Pap smear is gay

They may not know his name but they know his face

smear deez nuts

youtube.com/watch?v=dGsdg2YYTCY

This motherfucker has made a deal with Satan. Dubs confirm

Bump

he plays in a band filled with antivax, aids denying, chuds. i doubt hes even remotely a decent human being

He's that guy that was in Nirvana for that one show

I talk to him every night. He's actually pretty cool.

Go be a retard somewhere else

I'm pretty sure that's something women get at the gyno

I've always known who he was, but I was into punk as a teen, so the Germs meant more to me than Nirvana or the Foo Fighters. Smear isn't actually that important in the story of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, but he is a key part of the Germs' story, so I think Germs fans know him.

Nirvana is a great band, but I still don't give a shit about the Foo Fighters. You'd think a Nirvana/Scream/Germs/Sunny Day Real Estate supergroup would make more interesting music.

troo, thats the only reason i know of him

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Don't forget Mosseriset

>You'd think a Nirvana/Scream/Germs/Sunny Day Real Estate supergroup would make more interesting music.
There's just one problem... Grohl's always loved the CANDY APPLE GREY/WAREHOUSE Hüsker Dü more than the METAL CIRCUS/ZEN ARCADE Hüsker Dü.
He's an unabashed power-popper and has made no bones about that. It's a shame, but there it is.

And each band has lost a prominent member to drug overdoses. Pat is killing them.

youtu.be/pOkm6desPFQ
His (early) years as a guitar player –– shaping and steering all those great songs –– in the Germs deserves way more respect from the big dumb masses. The guy was a savant.

He has a wife and kid. I think he's bi instead. His manurisms are gay af, so I refuse to believe he exclusively ducks women.

Chek'd, Satan.

>He is able to be professional and friendly around people he might disagree with
What a monster.

Nothing wrong with power pop, it's just that they kept taking more and more influence from boring-ass AOR until most of their output was these pompous "anthems" and wannabe deep inspirational songs. The first couple albums were much better because they were grounded and sincere.

He was on In Utero and toured with the band until Kurt died.

Is not even that, if anything that would make more sense, i mean for someone that used to play back to back with sonic youth and blsck flag on washington you'd think Dave would have better taste than RAWK AND RALL lml music. Maybe if he wasn't such a spotlight starved asshole he would had embraced his alternative influences

>Nirvana/Scream/Germs/Sunny Day Real Estate supergroup would make more interesting music.
Don't forget Prince. Prince co-wrote Everlong and a couple other songs under the name Jamie Starr. Look it up on discogs and allmusic.

He was my first fave guitar player. When I saw him and how he moved around I wanted to be that good where I didn't have to look at what I was playing and move like him.

BTW, Germs, Nirvana, user whats the third legendary band?

>Jamie Starr. Look it up on discogs and allmusic.

not seeing this anywhere?

>What's the third
Foo Fighters. You may not like them, but they've been one of the biggest rock acts for about 25 years. They are "legendary".

seems gay but he has kids

discogs.com/artist/160852-Jamie-Starr

Yeah, he didn't write Everlong you idiot. He appears credited on the single of because the b-side is a cover of Drive Me Wild which he wrote. Fuck learn how to read

Yeah, I mentioned him to a buddy who "really knows" music and he had no idea who he was. lol

I'm retarded. I thought the Everlong page was just for the single. Discogs layout sucks. My bad.

>Making bank and not being in the limelight probably rules though
this

>Do you even into Prince or music in general?
No. I think he made gay novelty music. I'm not of a Rick James fan.

>a Nirvana/Scream/Germs/Sunny Day Real Estate supergroup
that would just be a "group". other than Nirvana, those bands are basically unknown outside of a subculture, so "supergroup" just isn't applicable.

*I'm more of a Rick James fan

Fucking autocorrect. Sorry for phone posting.

>Lesser known bands aren't legendary and don't make as good of music as highly promoted major label bands
Gay take.

M8, not every band is legendary just because they're big. I like Foo Fighters, but I would not say they're legendary.

Everlong is pretty Legendary

relevant:
alternativenation.net/dave-grohl-reveals-pat-smear-changed-kurt-cobain/

bands aren't legendary just because you have some emotional investment in them

Yeah, it is a great song. They haven't made anything as good since. I remember when Everlong came out when I was the 7th grade and my crush, who was such a sexy blonde that wore Kurt Cobain converse told me that Everlong made her want to make out. Not baaaad.

Yes they are. Legendary is subjective. I hate Michael Jackson, but he's legendary to many people. Just because you dislike a band doesn't mean they aren't legendary.

MJ is legendary because of the influence the huge sales, the iconic videos, the whacko jacko era...Foo Fighters are good arena rock band, but they're not legendary. Kurt Cobain is legendary, meaning there is a legend about him...it goes beyond music.

>The drummer for Nirvana goes on to front one of the biggest bands of the 21st century
Thats pretty legendary, mate.

That's a good point, but still, you're being generous.

>The Foo Fighters are legendary because of the influence the huge sales, the iconic videos,

>the influence the huge sales, the iconic videos,

They're not influential

>half black half jewish
Dios mio...

You don't think Nickelback was influenced by foo fighters? You don't think the entire early 2000s alt rock era was? Are you a zoomer?

Didn't he also play in Descendents?

fr I don't think I've seen a photo of him not smiling, he seems nice. must feel nice going from being a homeless punk in the 80s to a musician in some of the most popular bands in history but not being harrassed by the paps and the press etc.

>foo fighters
>legendary
they’re literally a footnote lmao

Sounds like Pap smear.
