Except Doom did save the world. If he didn't do what he did, there would have been no Reed to fix it. Reed failed to come up with a solution to the incursions, period.

He fucked up the entire time. He caused the incursions to happen faster and completely flopped the math on his time bomb.
Doom was directly told was what going on while Reed had to try and figure out what was going on when Doom's constant fuckups were ruining everything even more the entire time.

I'm not disagreeing, just saying when it came time, Doom saved the universe from dying at the last moment. It didn't seem like Reed had the means to do so when time came for the end. Doom may have screwed the pooch there after the fact with the Doomworld thing, but I think he was trying to hold things together, which while imperfect was still better than anyone else managed. As you point out, in the end he admits Reed could have done a better job with how to deal with things after the end, but he wasn't there to do so, was he?

And as I pointed out, Reed wasn't there because Doom was outright given the answer while Reed had to figure out everything from scratch. It could have gone entirely differently if he actually bothered to send Reed a note
So sure he "saved" the world but it wouldn't have gotten to the point where Doom needed to save it if he didn't fuck up in the first place.
Just a few more days and the lifeboat trick would have worked at bare minimum.

Although really much of the problem at that point in the timeline is Hickman not being remotely as smart as he thinks he was being.
Without Doom making things worse, the various realities could have worked together to all make their own lifeboats since there was a living tribunal corpse on all worlds for them to use as construction material. Noone had to waste time fighting each other when they could have just yoinked resources, evacuated an Earth, and made a sort of multiversal space station to house everyone.
Hickman was trying to push a narrative very heavy handedly while not being smart enough to actually make it remotely unsolvable.

I dont know. The Maker has a lot of irons in the fire since his conciousness is in mutiple bodies so who knows. He's helping Venom in the Venom book which is odd. And that's after trying to become eternity.
