The entire concept of robots was created as an allegory for socio-political injustice.

Because, if you forgot, the Autobots are a Socialist theocratic monarchy and the Decepticons are a plutarchy run by a militaristic autocratic meritocracy. Basically Warhammer 40k Imperium (Autobots) VS Starship Troopers humanity (Decepticons).

Megatron has no actual desire from Earth except Energon which the Autobots also want, and humans don’t need.
Decepticons attacked an oil rig, Autobots saved a few workers. As a result Earth gives the Autobots all the Energon they want for free and attacks Decepticons.
Given how Megatron works with humans willing to work with him, an alternative universe would have the Autobots fleeing Earth while the Decepticons set up a trading post to swap technology for Energon. Which would have been bad for the Autobots, but Earth would probably have come out better for it since humans never would have been drug into the war.

I disagree with both these. I'll admit that waifufaggotry plays a role, but if you're going make the robots "male" there's no reason not to have females. Otherwise, just make them generic, non-humanoid type robots and refer to them all as "it" and make it completely neutral.
And the family stuff was one of the more endearing qualities of Megaman (I only bring that into the convo since you posted that image). I won't say that that has to be a prereq in all cartoons, just saying that family dynamics among robots aren't a bad thing.

Mega Man did it fine, but so many shows turn into soap-opera levels of coincidence with characters being related to other characters until eventually the entire main cast is somehow related to each other. Once Palpatine's Luke's grandpa, everything get hard to take seriously. Robots don't need to be related to each other or care who they're related to. Unless you've got two identical robots with different paint jobs calling each other brother as a joke, it'd just bog the show down.

Because most human characteristics are unnecessary for their function. Robots are built to do work. The only reason we're building bipedal robots is because of the challenge of the AI and the efficiency of bipedalism. If robot flight could be made more efficient there'd be no need for robot legs, because a flying robot with arms can do basically everything a robot with legs can do, and more. The reason we don't have bipedal robots or walking robots in general is because of how challenging the AI has been to develop, and that's where the real interest in bipedal robots is. More advanced robot AI is far more valuable than bipedal robots.

Actually, because of all the Victorian-minded moms in the 50’s almost boycotted Barbie the toy industry was always very careful to keep gender toys very separate.
Even innocuous things like board games got criticism for boys and girls playing together.
Bob Budiansky, who created the non-toy side of Transformers wanted females but was forced not to include them. Out of protest he refused to change Ratchet’s name, so the ambulance remains “Nurse” Ratchet. The cartoon guys also refused, putting the female Autobot team in two episodes as well as making Arcee a main character.
Japan did its own thing after it was canceled, creating multiple female characters because even young boys can have waifus.
She-ra happened because some marketers realized girls liked He-man and Star Wars and told the department to make a spinoff. Not only was this a bad idea because trying to feminize He-man would turn off girls who liked He-man for being He-man, but the guys designing He-man felt like they needed a woman involved so they got the Barbie department women to help design her, resulting in She-ra being just slightly out of scale for full He-man compatibility. Plus the comb-able hair and Lisa Frank horse didn’t help.
So the rule was reinforced not to pander to girls.
Then after Transformers was dead as a brand, some of the original design team heard the fans organized a fan convention and went. They were shocked that most attendees were adults who grew up with the show, and about a third of then were women, including the event organizer.
Because of this Beast Wars was greenlit, and they put females in the cast who were popular characters with decent toy sales.
The Japanese really ran with the fembot idea in the successive cartoons and comics, and aside from autists like Furman and Bay the females are just part of the lore.
Now the Transformers literally have a god who has two important domains, creating MacGuffins and creating females.

They talked to the female fans, and quite a few as kids would do what all kids do and pretend one of the figures was themselves. Without designated females, they chose their favorite male who wasn’t Optimus.

For most kids, playing with action figures/dolls is basically storytelling.
Boys and girls both accomplish this by picking a figure and assigning it to be themselves.
Boys are just more likely to pick a character they want to be or a generic character that is a blank slate, such as Superman and Snake-eyes.
Girls tend to act out existing roles. They choose a character, and act as that character would in that scenario.
To put it another way, when playing Star Wats a boy would choose to be a generic rebel soldier or pretend Luke looks like them. Then “write” a story about themselves kicking everyone’s ass. A girl would choose any character although favor female ones, and act out an existing story such as pretending to be Luke watching Obi-wan and Vader duel like they did in the movie except in their mind Luke is a girl.

That actually makes them more prone to it than anything else. I mean I don't care but still. Also the whole deal about changing the altmode you are born with or the whole classicism that wouldn't allow TFs to choose their role in society freely and tons of other lore points. Also the fact that there is no gender makes them literally "agender" and the fact that most TFs are male, as in "male coded" makes all of them that are really close to or even love each other basically gay or feel like gays from our point of view. There is a reason for why TF is THE big fujo thing for years now. Even if you don't search for it you will get drowned by TF fanart if you follow enough artists on twitter and the likes, artists that aren't even focused on TF. Again, not complaining here either since I always liked it since I was a kid and robots in general and most of the art is actually cool (though very often gay'ish).

They weren't more alien they all just looked like grey heaps of scrap that arr rook rook arike. I still remember in the first movie when Megatron and Starscream meet, YOU CAN'T TELL THEM APART. They're both jets as vehicles, their robot modes are nearly identical, the sound in the scene is fucked so you can't tell which voice comes from which bot, and the camera keeps them both in frame so there's no visual clues at which of them is fucking speaking. It's a cinematic nightmare and I'm still shocked Michael Bay made so much money off of it.

To be honest I feel like it's more about adding waifu bait rather than female fans. The tons of female fans this series has are all into their male gay bots, I are probably rather worried than happy about female bots. But shitposting aside, as the other guy said, I don't like them adding fembots simply for the reason that this means giving them a sex. As long as everybody is male- or female-coded or androgynous it's okay and the species can be accepted as asexual but once you add gender differences they aren't anymore.
I know my complainment is kinda retarded since TFs transform into cars and such which are created by humans with shapes for humans in mind, but I still wish they wouldn't add more stuff that makes it weird. At least maybe give some transformers more female-coded shapes if you really need it but let them be refered to as "he" because everything else cannot be explained away without making the bots classify in genders which makes no sense for such agender species.

They'll use every argument you can think of, no matter how bad it is, so long as they can get you to eventually agree with them. If you were to get into a position of power where you could actually make a series with no female characters you'd face the same questions and arguments endlessly. You'd either end up spending forever trying to argue your position or say that it's simply what you want and don't care about the other side's arguments. Of course that means they'll keep trying to argue while also adding insults, threats, trying to dig-up dirt about you to blackmail you with and just generally trying to "cancel" you unless you give them what they want. Literally the only counter-measure is to create your own echo-chamber, blocking out all opposing views, otherwise you'll end up stuck in their echo-chamber instead.

This is something I noticed for a lot of fandoms and hobbies. The ones complaining are almost always people (mostly women) who never cared about the hobby and don't do anything with it, see all these housewives and/or feminists complaining about games despite never playing them while on the other side there is a huge female fanbase that loves the thing for what it is and don't care about what the haters say or even disagree with them.
The bad thing is that people often think they have to listen to those complaining because they assume they were potential fans or paying costumers when they actually aren't.

You're missing the point entirely. They're robots, they don't reproduce by giving birth, so there's no need for a vagina. They don't breast feed, so there's no need for tits. Wide hips aren't as good for running as narrow hips. Wide shoulders are better for leverage than narrow shoulders. Even if you say that orcs are female because of how they reproduce, they're still obviously coded male even if they're as ill equipped as a Ken doll. Something that reproduces completely asexually, like fungus, isn't automatically female. And don't get me started on seahorses, where the male gives birth.
Despite all that shit the gems from Steven Universe are still coded female because it's fiction and the race has all the traits of a human female despite needing none of them. It's just as easy to justify a race having only the traits of a male. No matter how realistic or unrealistic you might think it is, it's still fucking fiction about alien robots that turn into cars.

We instinctively don’t see them as “people” so much as “warband” or “ unnatural”. That’s why Sadako in The Ring is a herm for example, it removes her from humanity even before she is a ghost so you feel like bad for when she’s killed by a mob. Genderless pronoun is also how we dehumanize, which is why we minimize others by replacing “he” or “she” with “it”. By default in our brain, “it” is not people.
Optimus Prime the “he” can be a good guy, a father figure, a friend. Optimus Prime the “it” can technically be those things, but is further removed so you feel far less if/when he dies.
