Honestly, I thought it was obvious the second she first appeared. She's pink, and she obviously knew PD at some point, so she seemed like she would serve PD. Secondly, her character design is basically "What if the Darkest Dungeon Jester was a gem?" Her character coloring and the scene coloring caused by the injector also heavily reminded me of the Yuno's yandere face scene. I had her backstory nailed about five seconds after she showed her face.

It's a general commentary on how everybody is only valued for what they can do for a couple of the most powerful people, and are abandoned as soon as they either lose utility or those people just lose interest. These patterns then repeat themselves in modern families and modern romantic relationships and friendships. Won't stop being right either, most of the issues with the show are due to overarching stories with no real foundation, fueled entirely by "Brain was off, Character fucked up" scenarios and big convenience middle-of-the-road plotholes

Simple really, If Blue and Yellow are meant to be counterparts to each other, I:E Blue Represents Sadness while Yellow Represents Anger, then its clear that Pink and White are also opposites, with White representing Authority and Order while Pink represents Carelessness and Disharmony. The fact is Pink is really no different than the other diamonds in her actions, she only cares about things she deems interesting and important to herself, and was willing to go to war and let thousands of gems die for the sake of her getting to live her life how she wanted to, regardless of how much it hurt other people. Does she even really care about Greg? Or was he just another phase in her life, and eventually a way for her to become a human, because thats what having Steven was really about, she wanted to become a Human and change so she abandoned everyone else and forced Steven to solve all the problems her careless bullshit caused.
