Was Carnage suppose to be a homage to Joker? The only thing they have in common is they re both serial killers. Even their methods of killing is completely different. Carnage is very impulsive as he enjoys the act of seeing blood and killing in itself while Joker wants to make a point or have an audience first to make them “laugh”.

In Kasady's first appearances, Erik Larsen drew him to look like Joker, but with normal skin and hair. It was a homage, and a way of quickly establishing him as an insane villain, but other artists didn't continue it.
