The ending felt cheap to me. I imagine the crew felt that it worked out well since she really needed some love while the diamonds needed someone to love but it looked like Steven decided to pawn off a burden to get the diamonds off his ass. He could've at least hugged her goodbye and welcome her to stop by with a open Galaxy warp. I worried season 6 is pre movie so we won't get to see how she's holding up on HW.

Having said all that... Even though Pink is a selfish asshole, I still kinda believe that she cared enough about Spinel to not risk pulling her into a war. We don't know of her pulling anyone from her old life into the war. Pulling Pearl in is a different issue. Pearl was already in on the caper, and risking a Pearl is like risking an other common home appliance.

I find it hard to see that with the whole garden situation and since it happened before Pink even saw earth, much less thought about rebellion. Pink had to have known about Spinel's level of loyalty and it wouldn't really have required any more effort to abandon her on homeworld rather than the garden.
What Pink did seemed to be more along the lines of shooting your dog because finding someone to adopt it or even just driving it far enough away from your house that it couldn't find its way back would be too much of a bother.

I think she was too angry to really have a plan, because if she didn't really shake off the rejuvenator's effects, she'd have to watch the person she bonded with die horribly and then be stuck on a planet with a bunch of gems who are kind of really mad at her.

It was a quick disturbing ending to a character that needed several years of gradual help to become comfortable with herself. The only way to just walk away and accept their mania, is to assume that gems are automatons that can't help themselves and can never normalize to human behavior.

Spinel would definitely have joined and helped kept Rose's secret. While pearl wanted rose as a lover Spinel just wanted a friend something the rebellion would have done. She could have bonded with the other gems(she's good for morale) and slowly stop clinging to pink when she formed healthier friendships plus seeing her friends fight and die would have helped her mature.

Pink just felt that she was cramping her style otherwise she could've easily called her and told her to go back homeworld before taking her death.

It's not frustrating at all when you realize Steven is exactly what he is; a human being with only so much energy to expend and friendships with other people he's known longer than some gem he just met that hurt his ACTUAL best friends. I don't know about that. The ruby squad were all very different from one another, but I doubt they had a huge amount of variation in what they went through if they were all just stuck together in the same military unit from the beginning.

I hope she gets a few cameos next season at the very least. All the main threats are currently dealt with, so it's not like they shouldn't be able to afford some time to check in on the best side-characters.

Every gem has a unique facet and cut, so there is probably some variation in personality/voice/etc. based on that. Gem society prefers to keep gems living as homogeneously as possible.

The movie had to end with everybody reunited and a big musical and all that, all while finding a way to not have Spinel part of the main cast because that means giving her more screentime in future episodes, more expensive VA and more time-consuming animation. Attacking Steven was hardly ever a reason to ruin a chance at a friendship with him before "starting over with someone else" so it was all so convenient that she felt that way and then the diamonds came.
One can deny all they want but that's just simply rushed writing because of time constraints and future convenience. Steven of course is gonna comply because he's not gonna come alive and go against the writing

The final boss is clearly Steven's mom. Rebecca said she's not dead, Rose herself said only half of her was in the gem and during the Diamond showdown you saw she wasn't inside the gem anymore.

It's VERY clear Rose changed identities again and became someone else. She probably feels that without her gem nature she isn't the same person anymore or could be seen/loved as such and has abandoned everyone again.
