Why do I get so many favs on my art but nobody wants to commission me. I hate being a goddamn dishwasher and wish I could make money off my art. I wish I could be famous and support myself off art but for all my hard work it amounts to nothing financially beneficial.

judging by these your audience probably consists of a LOT of autistic people. i mean actually autistic too, like diagnosed medical autism. honestly though despite bonafide autists usually being broke, they don't shy from dropping a lot of money on art they like for things they like so i'm at a loss as to why you aren't making at least some money. keep picking at it and i'm sure some day you will get a fat patreon account funded entirely by extremely devoted mentally deficients. maybe try making comics? they like those.

i looked up your deviantart account and actually now i am realizing that it's you who is probably diagnosably autistic. that m&m is horrific. anyway, no one EVER responds to "what if i opened a patreon" posts. ever.

if you really are morally fine with taking money to draw internet smut you'll have to be fine with getting weirder with it. you need to draw more fetishistic shit, that is literally the only way to make money at your current skill level. you can draw characters on model reasonably well. that's good, but when it comes to drawn pornography this usually ISN'T what people want. unless they are autistic.
in either case, whether you intend to develop a more unique style (appeal to less autistic people) or keep with drawing characters on model(appeal to more autistic people), you will have to start drawing niche sexual fetishes.

the other option is to actually get good at drawing and learn how to tell stories. this one is harder and will probably make you less cash. on the flipside it will also destroy your soul less. up to you.

I honestly don't know why I seek so much approval from this board. It's probably because I got my first start on writing comics because of contacts made here. I get a small following but sometimes going unnoticed on here just picks at me internally at times. Shouldn't let it get to me and it's probably for the best.

not necessarily more hardcore. definitely more weird. a lot of the biggest money earning fetishes among the freaks on the internet that actually consume drawn pornography do not necessarily involve characters being traditionally naked at all.

now of course the BIGGEST smut drawing earners can ignore these notions and draw mostly vanilla shit and still make big bucks because they reach a level of stylization that appeals to relatively normal people, and the fact that their fame is self aggrandizing certainly helps. people like shadman, zone, minus8, etc

for you however, disregard what these people do. you will NEVER be as famous as these people. it is literally impossible. they carved their places and niches far before you even considered drawing pornography on the internet. they are pillars of internet degeneracy. they don't have to draw weird shit. you do.

ultimately it all comes down to luck though. sometimes people see your art and they just don't like it. we live in the digital information era and people now have hyper developed and very particular tastes, especially when it comes to internet smut. maybe drawing pornography just isn't your calling. hell, maybe just drawing isn't your calling. you'll make it either way bro, i'm sure of it.
