Between the shit talking of Disney, nobody ever seems to remember their biggest sin. Reviving a cult franchise and giving it a total innovation that created a new generation of fans along with a 10/10 show that they immediately scuttled and threw under the bus for it not being Marvel. And yet no other network ever seemed interested in picking up Tron Uprising either, as we stand 6 years after its cancellation. No DVD or blu ray...no merchandise, and any potential Tron 3 axed a long time ago. Where is the hatred for Disney over this? Is Spiderman the only thing that matters?

Disney's aborted revival of Tron was incredible. So stylish, so beautiful, so excellent. They shouldn't have killed it.

I'm still clutching onto hope

im mad about it whenever I remember it
its fun and cool, which is more than enough to get me to like it

Stop, I'm already depressed

Disney has made it so all people expect from them is just more Marvel, and damned if they don't deliver some Spiderman to boot. Nobody is waiting for a Tron 3, and after all they did to raise that name from the earth and rekindle the flames of imagination to it. But hey, theirs always more shitty Star Wars projects on the way instead of Tron.

That's what they do. Trick you into loving something so they can kill it in front of you.

Total bullshit what happened to this franchise.
Also, a million revivals and reboots for Disney+ but this wasn't one of them.
But yeah, we needed ten million Marvel & Star Wars shows in a market oversaturated with them, fuck Disney.

>No DVD or blu ray
Don't forget that the digital copies on Amazon and iTunes are region-restricted. So if you live outside USA, there's no legal way to watch the show, and it's impossible to support it with your money.

Motorcity was a bigger loss because it was a solid new property that didn't need to build on an old one. Both were canned because Disney just arbitrarily pivoted away from boy-targeted action shows. I think both shows were more popular among an older crowd and that rankled the suits. After the massive cross-generational success of Gravity Falls, I think Disney softened up on this kind of thing, but far too late to save Tron and Motorcity.

why did you have to remind me, fuck

>2010
>Pre-Marvel and Star Wars Buyout Disney
>Desperate for a hit franchise
>Everything live action they make bombs
>Revive a cult film from the 1980s that's been teasing a sequel for decades
>Make a sequel
>It does pretty good
>Make a cartoon
>Buy Marvel and Star Wars
>Throw every other property that isn't Marvel or Star Wars in the trash
This is Disney. You should have seen this coming.

So why the fetish for Avatar, a flash in the pan dated movie nobody cares for anymore. It's like bringing back Water World for a new theme park.

>2009
>Avatar is the hottest movie on the planet
>Disney wants Avatar money (merchandise and the future sequels
>Starts working with Fox, making plans for a theme park, etc.
>Ten years later (2019)
>Nobody gives a fuck about Avatar
>No impact on the popular culture
>No sequels, just nothing
>James Cameron says sequel may come out sometime this century
>Too late to stop work on the theme park
>Disney buys out Fox
Something like this.

That's some good shit.

Why does she have a sword?

loved this episode

Was it true that the reason why Disney cancelled it was because they were getting complaints that the show seemed to be pro-anarchy and anti-authoritarian? At least that was a rumor going around when it happened and despite it being a completely retarded reason, it sounds like something Disney would do.

First I've heard about it, which sounds ultimately retarded.

I've never heard that rumor before. I always assumed the problem was that it didn't make enough money because of its production costs (some famous VAs, very artsy CGI) combined with the lack of merchandise.

Cant make money on merch is their is none. But their soundtrack did make the top of the Itunes charts for a whole month. Plus all the awards should have counted for something.

anyone have any webms? I just have stills and a few gifs.

why did they make a new continuity instead of following 2.0's story?

The design and world of 2.0 was visually dated.

fair enough

L M A O implying
The real reason why Tron didnas badly as it was...
>Tron Legacy underperformed, not bad to be called a disaster, but bad enough to not get a sequel; this combined with the lukewarm reactions from the fanbase made Tron get into a worse deal that it already had.
>The series you are supposed to do comes later than the Tron Legacy hype lasted, which also fucked up more in its planned viewership.
>It's broadcasted in which is straight up a sinking ship (Disney XD), from which a lot of other shows would get cancelled as well from the bad viewership numbers, like Motorcity, Randy Cunningham, WoY, MML, etc.
>Don't even make merchandising in the first place for it, which could have helped as well.

It was a total loss at that point, and no matter how "good" a series did, it wouldn't escape their total doom.
Sorry, but that's how it is in this bitch of an earth.
