I think it's really asinine how americans will have foreigners referring to themselves in the first person as if any language on Earth did this, only goes to show how fucking obtuse and egotistical you people are.

The issue isn't with his inability to use pronouns (which is also weird, given he's either german or eastern-european, their pronoun rules far more complex than english), it's that he fails to realize that there is a first person pronoun in the first place, as if someone would fail to realize people don't talk about themselves in the third person when coming in contact with a new language. This notion is absurd, and out of every way they could demonstrate that he (or any other character) doesn't have a full grasp of english they choose to portray the characters as dumber than fucking babies. I don't wanna let any prejudices or projections get in my way but it honestly tells me more about the average american intelligence than about le funny foreigners.

I was going for, the simplifications of pronouns being difficult to process. I don't know if that's an actual problem or not, and I have doubts about it being valid, but I'm an American whose first language is the one I'm using right now, I have no idea if that works like that, and I basically came up with the "explanation" as I went.

Pronouns were never really an issue for me, but I still struggle with possessives every now and then.
What really fucks up non-english speakers is the "to be verb", though I'm not sure on my english - or lingustics, for that matter - to explain it.
