Zim was much more entertaining and wasn't nearly as boring as the SU movie was. Spinel was a absolute delight though so that's one of the few saving graces of the SU Movie. The songs were nice too.

You can't really say anyone did it better because they were both trying to do the opposite things.
SU wanted characters who were redeemable, who had some emotional issues that was driving them along a destructive path and could have been fixed if the right person came along and listened.
Zim wanted destructive idiots whose only motivation was the own retardation.
That being said, Zim did it better, because SU completely trivialized what it wanted to do by making the characters go "what the fuck, I hate being evil now!" because they blushed to cried once, while The Tallest are still destructive retards.
