No, Steven Universe is still way more inconsistent than this movie. Some of IZ’s mistakes are relatively minor and it only has some weird flash-like movements. Plus, the designs stay consistent all around the movie.

Some things definitely changed, like Gaz actually cared about what the other characters were up to for once, and Gaz cared about her brother.

Mostly, the original show doesn't really have a protagonist: Zim and Gir are kind of an anti-hero, but he wants to take over the world, Dib's an annoying obsessive conspiracy theorist, Gaz is a terrible sister and professor membrane is a terrible father, and everyone else is either too stupid or too apathetic to do anything about it. It was interesting, and I wasn't really rooting for any of them to succeed, but they were all really fun to watch.

That's the exact issue I had with Static Cling.
The writing of the jokes and characters for Static Cling was on par with the show, but it was all fucked over thanks to the abysmal pacing.
