Dexter's parents were also very openly unappreciative of his talents and frequently spoiled or sided with Deedee over him. It was kind of jarring actually if you rewatch this series. However it also made the rare times Dexter won over Deedee more satisfying.

The one time they did find out about the lab, during that power rangers parody, they seemed on the verge of punishing Dexter for it, but he wiped their memories before we could find out exactly how they were going to react.

Comedy or not, kids show or not, that sounded rather douchey on their side even as a kid seemed to me, like awful parenting jesus.

Shame that there's very few depictions of Mom like that, because it makes me rock hard. I guess it's implied in most porn where Dexter fucks her, but that's not really touched upon.
