Probably an SoL, but instead of the suburbs, the setting is one the lower income neighborhoods of the city.

Hm, well the one on the left looks more like a skater kind of kid or maybe one who's into music. The kid on the right gives off the vibe he might be a jock (the jersey mainly). Maybe these two, at on time, probably when they were younger, were friends, but as they grew up, they started developing different interests and steadily grew apart. The show could follow them throughout their lives and could give commentary on how relationships change and how people grow apart. I know I've had that happen to me. Then it could end with them at their high school reunion where they make up for a fight or something they may have had when they were younger.They hug and go home with some kind of closure.
