So, it's been a couple years since this happened.
Looking back, was this a net positive or negative, do you think?
What did you like or hate about the emotional spectrum Lantern Corps?

Attached: lantern-corps-970x545.jpg (970x545, 235K)

I like it, but I wish each color had a more unique powerset.

What? It's a FF chart elemental or something.
>Wing
>Fire
>Lava
>Lightning
>Earth
>Water
>Dark
>UV rays?
>Light
Heh, i'm a retard

The only good thing was Agent Orange, literally the only decent thing to came out of the Rainbow Lanterns.
They are also the reason why a supposedly important event like the Blackest Night sucked.

Really people think the too many human GLs are a problem but really all those other guys shouldn't have been a thing. And instead of removing them they keep adding to it, like the ultraviolet corps and their impossible numbers.
All those characters are useless, let's be honest. The only players that matters even cononically are the green and yellow.

It's cheap gimmicky garbage and I'm glad it's mostly been abandoned. Few things are as obnoxious as category expansion writing. They did the same shit with Swamp Thing by making ten different elemental variations on the Green (the Rot, the Metal, The Divided, etc).

well, it had its moments

Fuck you red lanterns rock, space punishers high on rage

Dex-Star is cool.
You probably don't need a whole corps just to have him, though

Where are sadness and joy?

>green and blue are space cops/soldiers and space paramedics

>yellows are the same thing as green but evil
>reds are the yellows assassin wing who do covert ops shit.
>give reds the power to camo themselves.

>orange is an anomaly that no one understands how they to be but hold a lot of weight in the universe.

>both corps deny its existence and regular non-affiliated aliens only spread rumors about it.

>bad guys and good guys with good intentions think the orange is some sort of mystical diety that needs to be summoned like a genie that gives you monkeys paw like wishes.

>everyone suffers the consequences for contacting agent orange because of their greed.

>blacks are literally undead members of all of the corps that occasionally posses the bodies of earth heros and villains.

>kill of the other pointless corps

there. i just improved the rainbow lantern concept

>>kill of the other pointless corps
So just the Indigos, then?

love corps and the white lanterns too.

just roll carol into the blues since she's no longer a villain

>half the Lanterns come from Earth itself
oh boy how eventful

blue lanterns are critically under used when they're the coolest ones. really irritating how there's 50 human green lanterns but not one blue lantern human.

guy doesn't count (:

Most writers can't write characters that have hope. They're too busy trying to deconstruct super heroes to make anything positive
Look what happened when Geoff's run ended, the blue lantern started dying,

Good additions, but used way too much. The rest of the DC Cosmic became about only GL's and their related ring enemies. Realistically, the Greens and Yellows are all we really need and maybe the blues working as support with the GL's rather than their own entity. Atrocitus could do his vengeance related stuff and focus more on the blood magic aspect rather than it just being another ring. Indigos really don't serve a purpose anymore and the Sapphires are already a non-entity except for Carol since the Zamorans do even less than the Guardians. Larfleeze can just stick in Vega and fuck shit up over there.

when was lobo a gl?

Red Lanterns might be the best core. Star Sapphires are severely underappreciated.

This
The extra colors would have been great if they were used less often. When they're around constantly they lose their appeal. The Sinestro Corps were awesome but then they just became jobbers. Same with most of the colors.

Injustice.

Red, blue and orange are cool in my book

I don't like white or black because they break the emotion theming, but overall I love it.

Shit was dope, I didn't care for brightest day though. I wish they'd do something with these characters again. The current GL book sucks a hairy shriveled dick. Sinestro and Larfleeze's ongoings were dope. New Guardians was fun.

This.

Now that I think on it, the different ring colors are good, but entire corps of them were bad. Having the rainbow emotions exist, but only green having an organization devoted to it, seems best.

brightest day did suck.
no idea why you think the current GL run is bad, maybe this is bait

yeah, it wouldn't even have to be that different just a little altered.

When you think about it, the Red and Orange corps are both altered enough to be unique, with the blood spitting and the soul absorbing aspects respectively.

Red Lanterns, Orange and Blue are different from GLs
except they changed how RLs work

How and when?

Did someone say... hope?

Can't the Star Sapphires trap people in love crystals or some shit?

Attached: falwbcV.jpg (1600x2454, 900K)

new 52 Red Lanterns
At first this earth human was the only one able to make constructs but then they used his blood or something to give the others the same ability
also they killed off almost all the RLs, there are only like 7 or 8 of them

>new 52
Didn't most of that just get retconned anyways?

fuck if I know, I haven't seen the red lanterns in ages

Part of the conversion process. The crystal cocoon fills the targets heart with love and brings them over to that side, regardless of previous ring attachment. It takes awhile and the target can break free with enough willpower/other emotion being stronger then the love. Some sapphires crystals work better/faster then others. I think their a step above indigo and red where the rings emotions take complete control over the user.

>that random fox pink lantern
What was up with that? Who was she?

This? idk

reminded me of Silver Age world building applied to modern comics without just being "let me rip off older comics"
I think Geoff really used it too much instead of going on to other GL stuff

it is ok to have shit taste

>blue latern dog
>red lantern cat
>pink lantern fox
Are there anymore?

Geoff should have put the rainbow crew on the back burner after awhile. they hogged too much of the comic afterawhile
should have brought back Pol Manning

Attached: Pol_Manning_001.jpg (400x424, 88K)

the shark lanterns

It made me realize that nothing will ever make me give a shit about Green Lantern. Except Guy. He's rad.

Sauce on the shark and fox lanterns. They have any back story or just oneshot characters?

Why are there 2 Black Lanterns?

shark lanterns are a thing Yea Forums made up
Yea Forums also made up the grey lanterns
no idea about the fox

the one on the far left is black and the one of the far right is a white lantern

This

I liked it thru the end of Blackest Night. After that, the run feels very repetitive and tired and I just pretend it ended.

the Green Lanterns have a chipmunk and a fly
I keep seeing a yellow lantern hornet, is that a real character or a Yea Forums creation?

This and I wish each color faction had a more unique name. Everything been [Color] Lantern Corps save for like three of them was pretty uninspired. They could've easily came up with more unique names.

>Red Lanterns
Lanterns of Ysmaut or something
>Blue Lanterns
Galactic Hope Corps
>Black Lantern Corps
The Necro Death That Consumes the Universe

There, took me like all of two minutes to come up with names that are at least more inspired than what they came up with.

Don't quit your day job.

Yea Forums creation along with the blue lantern corgi

There was that gimmick with the different speedforce variants too. Strength force, sage force, etc.

Isn’t willpower not an emotion?

He didn't see the lantern uniform? Fuckin idiot had it coming.

That's because humanity has no hope :,)

I like the idea of this but Star Sapphires should definitely be a bigger thing. Have them be a rival organization to the GLC that's also way more ineffective. Definitely a force for good but they're way less focused, less organized, and with the leaders arguably more inept and corrupt than the Guardians, basically making them a wildcard within the cosmos. For orange, just do something like said.

Nah, I genuinely think that's better than [Color] Lanterns. We already had that shit with the Green Lantern Corps, Johns. Give us something different ffs.

they didn't know red lanterns were a thing

Atrocitus being a blood magic witch is pretty faggy desu

It's a uniform nearly identical to his own but with a different symbol. Anyone with double digits IQ could figure out it's at least a dangerous creature.

I disagree, someone with enough shitty taste to hate red lanterns should get out of Yea Forums

In every young girl's mind.

Their rings also allow them to teleport too.

god i wish Bleez would sit on me

>Hope corgi never

this pose is used a lot in comics isn't it

Attached: final-crisis-5-8.jpg (1010x1071, 458K)

Accurate depiction of a cat.

If he's not canon DC can't ruin him!

>This and I wish each color faction had a more unique name. Everything been [Color] Lantern Corps
Like it should be.

He's a WARLOCK, not a WITCH

>Lanterns of Ysmaut or something

Just add on to the inversion shit that Atrocitus was a part of.

bump

Well it gave us all sorts of dumb fan art of other characters with the rings

I feel the same way

It expanded GL lore at the expense of the greater DC cosmic lore.

Also It's boring when all of them do nothing but make constructs
The vomiting and orange being only Larfleeze are like the most unique things about the extra corps.

how would you make them all more unique then?

Swap yellow and red, and you're onto something.

It was okay and I really like em, just don't overuse em. Not a fan of White Lantern Corp tho, I do like how it eventually devolved into nothing, lol.
