As an ex-butcher, you kinda get sick of cutting through flesh and bone after all the training you have to do watching animals killed, drained, skinned and quartered. First time was a cow that was grazing and just getting old. One shot from the farmer in the head from a distance, since fear releases adrenaline and ruins the meat, then stringing it up on a pulley, slitting the throat then opening the stomach/chest to drain all the blood and organs quickly was shitty. The heat releasing in the early morning when its chilly and steam rising quickly, the organs spilling onto the ground, the blood release. It all sucks. I love meat, I love cooking, but holy fuck animals dont deserve it.

Meat is weird and gross and processed meat is disgusting if you start to think about it.

I never said I wasn't proud. Just said it was fucked up. Again, I love meat, I love cooking steaks. But I moved to working at a brewery and it makes me much happier.

I kinda don't believe you were an ex-butcher. Maybe you tried to become one for a week, but that's about it, because eventually you would get used to stuff like that.
When i was a kid, i always hated seeing raw meat, but eventually as i grew older, i had to touch it to cook it myself you know. And now i can touch it just fine, and whenever there is another body part of a dead animal i have to touch for cooking, i go through the same motions anytime. First its disgusting, then i can handle it, and then i see it as just an object, not a previously part of a living being.


And it's the same with doctors as well. Do you think a surgeon thinks "eeww, i have to touch another humans organs", no, they get used to it and eventually just see the insides of a living being as just objects.

Now, I feel bad for enjoying these fine ribs I'm chewing on. Why is the taste of death so delicious?

don't forget that if you cook it BADLY meat is pretty awful. My mom had this horrible habit of cooking burgers basically enough to brown the outside but left the inside just thawed out and warm so it was not even like biting into a rare steak it was more like eating some kind of meat goo.

That said he might have also worked at a fastfood place or some place like Applebee's. Those have some pretty off-putting methods of preparing meals.

Jhonen says in one of the commentary tracks on the DVD set of the series that he uses meat because he thinks that meat is funny. It just somehow lends itself to comic purposes.

Yeah, I did... She tried but she just does not have a good sense of cooking hamburgers. Ask her for a steak and she'll make it any hundred ways you like it. But something about a patty of ground beef just baffled her.

I attribute my preference towards near well-done levels of meat cooking to my dear old mum's burger cooking, her preference for eating nearly blue steak, and also once telling me the horrors of parasites you can get from eating undercooked meat. While eating the aforementioned steaks. (she was a nurse, this also resulted in me having no comprehension of appropriate mealtime topics)
