So how do you feel about Absolute Carnage so far?
So how do you feel about Absolute Carnage so far?
Lots of fun
It's interesting so far in my opinion, I'm a comic plebian though, and I've liked a lot of recent events that DC and Marvel had that I see a lot of people complain how "shit" they are.
It's just a retooled Web of Shadows
I like it for the most part.
It feels more focused that a lot of other events and for as much as people say that Marvel is "forcing" Knull (still a stupid name), it is nice that he hasn't even shown up once so far. It's obvious he will come to Earth before this is over, but keeping him as something that is only talked about and never shown is a good move. As for Carnage himself, yeah, this is the pay off for years of buffs he's been getting and is either going to be the point of no return in power scaling (such as post-Secret Wars Hulk) or it's going to be the reset button to send him back to the 90's power level.
It's really all about if they can stick the landing. One of the most important parts of an event comic is if it can live up to the build up. Secret Empire failed at this HARD, so only time will tell how this goes.
that was venomized though
Hence why I said "retooled". Swap Venom for Carnage, and throw in primordial god bullshit, it's essentially just a symbiote invasion again
1 Not really, some elements are lifted from WoS, but the over arcing story is different.
2 Even if it was, is that really a bad thing?
3 I'm still mad that the credits showed us Symbiot Moon Knight and he wasn't in the game.
Has Ben showed up yet?
All this buildup just for an event that's "Carnage creates an army of himself"? I feel like we've had this story a million times already.
Waiting for AC: Symbiote Spider-Man for based Quentin to show up.
Fucking loving this crazy ass shut so far, that Defenders tie in issue was fucking batshit insane, love Stegman’s art. Just all around a good time for me man, but then, I’m a massive symbiote fag so I guess it’s no surprise I’m enjoying this
fun/based/rad
>That Agent Venom mask
don't you taunt me cates you piece of shit
Currently reading Cates Venom in anticipation of this and I’m really enjoying it. Excited for AC and that delicious Stegman art. How is Cates Guardians?
I like how Venom and Spidey are not dicks to eachother.
I keep forgetting to read it.
Kletus’ power level was steadily growing out of control:
Symbiote bonded to his bloodcells.
Get his body ripped in half.
Eat enough meat from slaughter houses to generate enough symbiote to take over a town.
Get his soul stripped out.
Get his blood eaten by Poisons, just for his symbiote to naturally come back.
Survive reentry from ORBIT. Directly crashing I might add.
This dude has some Liquid Snake levels of unkillable.
I fucking love it.
He goes around looking like a Bloodborne monster and the Spiral symbol matches him perfectly.
Only thing I’m gonna nit pick is that they keep making the Dragon Symbol into a Spider.
Other than that this is great.
>How is Cates Guardians?
Awful. Pure wheelspinning, writing for the trade, predictable plots and mischaracterizations all around, not even counting the amount of continuity errors and deflated cliffhangers. The only good issue so far has been the Annual and that wasn't even written by Cates.
>So how do you feel about Absolute Carnage so far?
I don't like anything symbiotes (or Cates for that matter), but I must say, the first page of the second issue of the event killed all curiosity I had over it despite the fact. And I was going to check it on behalf of Stegman's art, but the sheer amount of edgelord nonsense straight outta Mudvayne's lyrics made me check out completely. Cool that others are enjoying though, nothing worse than a season with shitty events and general jadedness souring the landscape.
Damn, well thanks for taking the time to answer user.
It’s about that guy who got the symbiote on a bus m8, Quentin is not in there
You went into an event titled Absolute Carnage starring characters named Carnage and Venom expecting something other than edgelord nonsense? That's always been the appeal of the character dude.
Storytime it so I can tell you what I think of it.
Yeah, that's squarely on me, I don't deny that. I just didn't expect it to be that edgy.
I love it so far, and I dig the horror direction Marvel has taken recently. But the tie-ins are kinda boring and don't seem like they matter in the grand scheme of the event. But I guess that's expected.
