There has to be one "worst episode" and this is it. I like Steven. I'd go as far to say I love him as a character. I don't want Steven being the only speaking role in an episode because it means he's just talking to himself for the most part.
Not to mention the art is dull, the plot is boring (I have high resistance to boredom) and the whole thing doesn't even feel like SU. Even Zoltron had future vision going on.

I have a buddy with an ear for conversational and comedic timing, and the timing being a bit *off* in Lamar eps makes him one of his least favorite boarders, but we were talking about it a while back and we realized something:
The Lamar eps animated at SMIP don't have any of the timing issues that bugs my friend
Granted it's not all RDK's fault, because two non-Lamar SU eps that the animation team that usually works on Rough Draft Lamar eps animated, Say Uncle and The Kindergarten Kid, have great comedic timing to him
They already have Are You My Dad? and I Am My Mom, why didn't they just make that the double length episode, make Gem Harvest shorter and have the other production slot be another story or something?

I gotta be honest this episode is comfy as fuck. They could've gone the obnoxious route and made Andy unsympathetic, or toned him down but instead they managed to flesh out this character, give him an arc and make him yet another part of Steven's life. Honestly this show has a habit of being pretty optimistic against all odds.
