It kinda rustled some jimmies tho - it's a reboot and redesign after all. There were complaints about Carmen being a hero, the art and animation looking like shit, lacking seriousness and violence, little educational value etc. There were multiple threads from anons that were pleased with the show too.

It only means that they're going to use, like three episodes from a season order to make it into the special. That's what they did with Stretch Armstrong, at least.
Plenty of popular shows are getting them, though. Boss Baby has been a huge hit and it's getting one. Black Mirror got one and that's still getting more seasons.
