The Joker canonically thinks Carnage is trash.

>I hear Carnage is considered the Marvel equivalent to the Joker.
That's, like... really fucking sad to read.

no one cares

Maximum Carnage

Cool. Anything else? Is that considered his "Killing Joke"?

OP Cletus isn't Marvel's "Joker". That's a fucking retarded comparison to make

No, Norman Osborn/Green Goblin is as close as you will get with a Marvel Joker. Carnage is not even Spider-Man’s archenemies so he can’t qualify as a Joker.

Axis Carnage

You heard wrong, Marvel's discount joker is Green Goblin

This was great but mostly because of the contrast of his personality being flipped. Not a great starting point. The 2016 run was good if you like Call of Cthulhu type horror. Carnage limited 1-5 (2012-ish), Carnage USA and Superior Carnage are all fun reads with great art.

>2016 run and good in the same sentence

Every opinions of yours is discarded due to enourmous shit taste

After reading the intro page to Absolute Carnage #2 this week, yeah I'm gonna have to agree with OP. I cringed just the same as every time I see anything related to modern Joker/Batman Who Laughs.

You can pretty much read all the comics that feature comics, unlike Joker, Carnage isn’t forced into fucking everything and a mandated character to appear in everything that Spider-Man also appeared in, so he has far less exposure. As far as comics go, here is a short list of Carnage related stories that I personally enjoyed
>ASM 360 - 363
>Maximum Carnage
>Batman and Spider-Man crossover
>Venom vs Carnage
Around this time Carnage is ripped in half and thrown into earth’s orbit by Sentry
>Carnage: Family Feud
>Carnage USA
>Carnage Axis
>Carnage by Gerry Conway
>the current Venom, Web of Venom and Absolute Carnage comics
I’d say that Green Goblin is closer to being Spider-Man’a joker as he fits the criteria of having to appear in literally everything, and when he’s not there Casuals ask “Hey, where is Green Goblin?”

>shitting on Gerry Conway
>ignoring how awful fucking Superior Carnage was
Every opinion of yours is discarded due to enormous shit taste....
Fucking seriously man, Superior Carnage was so bad, it was like whoever designed him had just gotten done playing Mass Effect and just decided to use that as inspiration. As for Conway’s Carnage, I really liked that series and how it was done, my only really complaints where Toxin’s wannabie Agent Venom look and the way the series ended. Beyond that it was a pretty cool read and had some awesome cover art for those of us who had it on our pull lists.

I kinda liked minimum carnage

It wasn’t bad, but I found it very disruptive to both Scarlet Spider and Agent Venom at the time, I can’t say that I was ever a real fan of the Microverse, and the trip there during that story didn’t make me like them any more than I already did

>it was like whoever designed him had just gotten done playing Mass Effect and just decided to use that as inspiration
What?

Tell me this doesn’t look like a DLC character for mass effect 3. This is the actual design used for Superior Carnage

Are you talking about Javik?
Because I barely remember anything from 3 other than the anger.

>the double dubs
Yea, I’m still salty, I don’t mean that he looks like an actual character, I mean that you could photoshop him into a picture of the cast and he wouldn’t stand out at all. He literally looks like he belongs in that universe. I fucking hate this goddamn design so much.

He does kinda look like the reaper'd version of an alien.

>I hear Carnage is considered the Marvel equivalent to the Joker.

They probably said that as a way of insulting the current state of The Joker. It's gotten bad.

Carnage more like Garbage

I mean, when you think “Superior Carnage” is this what came to mind?

Attached: image.jpg (403x930, 394K)

Not particularly, no.
Fuck you for making me remember ME3, God fucking dammit I'm going to be upset for the rest of the night.

I’m sorry user, it wasn’t my intention to dredge up bad memories, here, take this Venom, in the hopes that you will see it and get a nice chuckle.

Wait, isn't the green goblin the literally same as the joker? Although he has more composure when he's Osborn but isn't be basically insane when he becomes goblin?

He's the closest thing if you want to make comparisons. Though there was also that dude from the Dark Reign: Zodiac tie in who felt like an attempt to build up a jokeresque character

Mind Bomb
Wonderful Life
Web of Carnage
Carnage USA
AXIS Carnage
Ultimate Carnage
Conway’s 16 issue Carnage solo book

If you’re still on board after that, you can read Family Feud, Venom vs Carnage, Deadpool vs Carnage and Minimum Carnage.

If you want to delve into the pure 90s cheese then you can read his debut, Maximum Carnage Carnage Cosmic, Planet of the symbiotes and Venom: Carnage Unleashed.

Stay the fuck away from Superior Carnage.

A mix of Joker and Luthor. Actually I say he is closer to Luthor than Joker, especially pre-2000 Luthor but I can’t thtink of anything from Marvel with 1:1 comparison with Joker.

Now you may think I’m trolling but the closest fictional character in popular modern entertainment I found to Joker is Jhin from League of Legends. Yes, they have lore and a universe of their own.

>I hear Carnage is considered the Marvel equivalent to the Joker.
Sadly, yes, Carnage is Modern Joker.
>Wait, isn't the green goblin the literally same as the joker?
Green Goblin is Classic Joker

The problem I find with Carnage is that we know how backstory and we know that a symbiote is controlling him at time instead of leaving it a mystery. Some of the reviews even say the new Joker movie still has a multiple choice backstory and their is a lot of interpretations you can do.

Carnage Mind Bomb is my all time favorite Carnage story. BUT it is super 90s edgy. Still I thought it was suitably fucked up and disturbed.

>The problem I find with Carnage is that we know how backstory and we know that a symbiote is controlling him at time instead of leaving it a mystery.
Your problem is you don't actually understand Carnage's backstory because you only read books printed in the last decade
Cletus is not controlled by symbiotes - he controls symbiotes. His mind is far too damaged for the symbiotes to handle and this is why they made a point in the 90s to differentiate Venom's "we" from Carnage's "I" as unlike Venom or the other symbiotes Carnage is such a nutter he doesn't communicate with his symbiote, and this was long before being upgraded multiple times.

Carnage being Knull's herald makes the most sense because among hosts he was always the closest to him in personality and ability to dominate symbiotes.

Which is why I said at a time.

Legit talk, I hate the people who try to force the DC vs. Marvel comparisons and wars. I hate these people so much I would mentally stab them until their brains bleed. Ie bother them so much they get tinnitus. I would mentally rape them too if I could. I would become their own little Joker.

Aaaaanyway unless it’s a very obvious comparison, Namor vs Aquaman, there is no point in trying to find the DC Magneto or Marvel Joker. Just fucking let the characters be their own unique thing.

you are forgetting Carnage: Mind Bomb

But what if the artists and writers themselves try to make the comparison and cite the other book as inspiration?

No, not even close.

What about his time in the Sam Nova book?

The Nova crossover was a fallout of AXIS, I think if you buy the AXIS Carnage trade, it comes with the Nova issues.

Carnage's premiere, Carnage USA, Venom vs Carnage, Deadpool vs Carnage, Axis Carnage, and Absolute Carnage

Attached: tsj2.gif (50x50, 7K)

Carnage was inspired by the Killing Joke story from Alan Moore (his looks were basically identical and he believed in Joker philosophy of one bad day can turn anyone insane)

But his character is basically just a generic serial killer, he just like to kill while Joker only see death as a mean to the end (terrorize the public with his shows)

Who lied to you, OP?

you're so epic and based

So isn't Absolute Carnage just Web of Shadows with Cletus instead of Venom with space god nonsense thrown in? Because this is just a symbiote invasion again

I liked how in that same comic Batman is all like Letbthe Woman go! It’s me you want!” And Carnage is just like “Naw man, I’m not obsessed with you, see? Her blood is just as good as yours to me.” Must have been a good ego check for Bats to come across a villain who isn’t like “Oh fuck, that’s Batman! If I kill him I’ve got it made!”

Holy shit you're right.
