It's not really about taking asian women, at least not directly. And it's not just asian men who say it. Typically the insults are directed towards the partner who's not your race. A lot of people really don't understand that women use drugs and alcohol at fucking astounding rates. This is overwhelmingly white and hispanic people but even among demographics that don't use it women are more likley to abuse substances than men. China has basically abandoned Kung Fu for Olympic Taekwondo, and Sanda is mostly a combination of foreign styles like boxing and Muay Thai in practice. Thailand does a lot of Muay Thai but those guys routinely transition to boxing and become world champions at it. The actual reality of it is way messier than everyone doing some local style and it all being really good.

The point is mostly that Filipino people as a group never developed that killer reputation. There was no Filipino Bruce Lee kicking ass on TV and there were no Filipino dojos doing Shotokan or Tang Soo Do back in the day.

Not only that, but if you are visibly not white/black, you default to immigrant. Unless they think you're a native. Doesn't matter what kind of Asian you are, what kind of Hispanic, what kind of Pacific Islander, the initial conclusion if you did not grow up in an environment where these people were common enough to know a few and their communities, the default assumption is immigrant. Only whites and blacks default to born and raised in the US.
