Which show was better?

Even if you hated Static Cling, I don't see why anyone would pick Camp Lazlo over Rocko.

Camp Lazlo was dull as shit, even when it was new. Only Zoomers with nostalgia bias will claim it was ever good.

I always found Camp Lazlo very comfy for some reason. Like it activated some nostalgic feeling inside me for a childhood I never had. Not sure why. Anyone else?

As a TV series - I definitely prefer Rocko over Lazlo. Lazlo was very visually appealing but the jokes always fell flat to me, I honestly can't remember any stand out moments from the show.

I can't compare the specials, as I've only seen Rocko's. I'd assume Lazlo's was better, since there wasn't a 20 year gap.

Also in Wacky Delly Rachel uses the laser device on the polar ice caps, melting them, causing mass flooding, presumably killing hundreds, definitely at least displacing hundreds, all to get out of her contract. She’s kind of evil and I wish the special had shown more of that. That bitter, angry, squidwardness.

Wacky Delly is one of my favourite episodes of that show so I was glad to see this character return. I guess that there was character development off screen in the twenty years in between. I guess it’s also a little weird since she’s the only one who got this development and everyone else is the same.

Speaking of, how old is everyone now? Filburt always struck me as being in his thirties. He must be old now. Mr Bighead has gotta be like in his fifties or sixties by now. Shit I wish that they showed the theme of change even more.

What would a full-fledged crossover with these shows be like?

I just love Joe Murray period. Rocko was a great riff on contemporary culture while Lazlo drew from childhood nostalgia in an interesting and captivating way. Both shows had gut busting gags/jokes and extremely well paced slapstick. And it's all done using a simple yet cute and expressive art style that's both unique and familiar. One day I'm going to make my own summer camp story once I figure out a premise that's unique but draws from the things that make me love Lazlo so much.

He's a really cool guy, too. I suggest reading some of the stuff on his blog. Even the things that aren't related to art, you can tell he's an inspiring person.
