What did the author do?

I'm a huge right wing conservative. The majority of people making cartoons are people I would easily disagree with ideologically but I'm not so much of a retard that I can't separate the art from the artist. I only take issue when an artists politics actively harm the work they are creating. I mean if they make a solely political work I'm smart enough to avoid it and just let it be since it's not for me.

I'm left-wing and I feel the same. When politics get clumsily shoehorned into somewhere it doesn't belong, even when it's stuff I agree with, it just ruins the whole thing for me.

why would someones product somehow completely change in tone just because they start inserting their political believes? I mean assuming it was all written by the same person from the start, it's still their chemics, unless it's a complete 180 of the franchise
Fuck it when someone rewrites someone elses stuff to suite politics though

I don't care about politics IF they are shown in a good, subtle way, but writers like Ewing are fucking awful at that consistently giving us cringeworthy pages about his political views.

>(((weinersmith)))

>I'm a huge right wing conservative.
cringe

Done well, it can totally add to the work. But holy fuck do I hate being pandered to by sloppy writers on their little soapboxes.

Stop fatshaming.

>wing
Yea, cringepilled

>but writers like Ewing are fucking awful at that consistently giving us cringeworthy pages about his political views.
Pfft fuck off, eternally triggered retard. Just because he mentions trans rights in one panel, get out of here.

The thing is I could write a comedy or adventure show that deals with rather basic ideological and moral aspects that should be universal and features comedy that equally lambasts everyone regardless of my own personal political beliefs or vendettas.

But if I make a cartoon about a fantasy land where people fire lightening from their hands it doesn't make sense to use it as a vessel to tackle the gun control debate does it?

I was about to call you a /pol/fag, but you have really good arguments

>weinersmith

Attached: Ha ha ha.gif (320x240, 832K)

I don't think I could ever buy another Mark Waid book again. Luckily pretty much all the worst people in comics also tend to be really bad at making comics.

i liked zach's one panel gag strips

>penis man is a popular comic book character
>penis man has been established to feel x way about y subject
>new writer feels z way about y subject
>suddenly penis man feels very strongly that z is correct

The collapse of conservatives into reverse SJWs is complete.

dilate

Nice try, I'm not even against trans rights but Ewing is a hack that can't push a message to save his life.

I feel you both. I'm a fasci-socialist LibCon and I realize not everyone's going to agree with my position so I just take things as they come in regards to fiction and entertainment.

>one

What rights does trans people lack?

No designated dilation stations.

THis is what we need more of.

Agreed as well. I can live with dissenting opinions. I can't stand abject stupidity though (see: anything by Dobson or some of Stonetoss's comics.) And much as people rail on Yea Forums being Yea Forumsmblr or even Reddit, I'd take those over oh say...ResetERA, where not even moderates are tolerated. (You can't even laugh at David Chappelle's jokes or post about the Joe Rogan podcast)

That means becoming one with SJW and outrage culture.

So no

>this shit again
Another retard who gets his politics from right wing strips, I see.
>"No I'm seriously wondering! I'm for real I swear"

But yeah, imagine getting seriously pissed about this page, and miss the point entirely. Fucking hilarious.

Attached: file.png (741x552, 763K)

What if said author's basically the type that ENDORSES outrage/cancel culture? You're basically saying not to engage them and just let them walk all over you because fighting them makes you as bad as them. So if you're the next target, you're expected to just sit down and let them tear you apart, right?

Christ be more slimy and disingenuous you'll slide right out of your loveseat

>ad hominem
>can't even answer the question
>put up a strawman instead
Absolutely epic.

It's a bad faith question. I'm not an idiot: the winning move is not too play.
LMAO, look who's talking.

My original comment was in reference to OP's pic whose comic I read and I know for a fucking fat doesn't inject SJW shit into his comic beyond using a random number generator to determine the color/gender of his one off characters.

To your specific example, attack the author's argument. Not his person. Simple as that. Don't fund his works if you feel that extreme about it. It starts to become pathetic when you grow media level stupid and comment on shit like X had two scoops of ice cream or Y said a bad word in high school.

>the winning move is not too play.
You replied to the post, that automatically means you're playing

>I'm not an idiot: the winning move is not too play.
and yet here you are fuckin replying

Then why reply in the first place you retard?

Well my example was basically the YA Book community in a nutshell. Full of authours willing to start online mobs against other authours who offended them, only for THEM to be on the receiving end of the same mob for the same reasons they started the mobs.

that cover is horrible why even dig in the author's bio, you know it's not interesting , entertaining or even educative.

>the winning move is not too play
Yeah you're right if you actually tried to answer the question you would've been btfo lmao

To make fun of your idiocy, obviously.
"Playing" entails falling for bad faith tactics such as your disingenuous question. I can simply stand on the side and laugh as you get mad over a harmless panel in an otherwise great issue. It's fun.

>Oh nice, people are actually going to talk about the content of that book, even maybe sotrytime it
>No on in this thread has actually read it or even acquired it
welp...

Based and Yea Forums-pilled

What is there to talk about that delusional propaganda? You sound awfully docile and eager to obey.

>miss the page point and try lecture others
lmao

Typical leftist tactic. They shut down discussion immediately if they feel like they won't be able to defend their opinion and try to change the topic.

well, in this case, it's a stand-alone book unrlated to the author's current's main work that was from the start intended to be about a politic stance, so what you say there doesn't really apply tot he situation.

It's not politic getting in a story and badly affecting it, it's a work of its own who was meant to be political from the start.

>a
>panel
>implying one

Okay, Mr. I'm under 30 and still clueless

I like Al Ewing's work but anytime he tried to make a message it really comes off as forced. Like he's so good at the continuity stuff and characters that when he tries it just stands out like a hole in the comic.

Sorry, the "white people" panel gets demolished on the next page, but you don't like to admit that.
LMAO pretending that right wingers are enlightened. Don't you have a straight pride parade to attend?

>gets demolished on the next page
It doesn't, you are retarded as fuck

>about that delusional propaganda?
How do you know is propaganda and not actual objective observations based on fact without actually reading it and checking the sources it use?

>You sound awfully docile and eager to obey.
That's... that's not really a thing to state that is actually relevant to the comic's stance. There are people who are for it and other who are against it. So whether you agree or disagree with that book, you are going to end up being in agreement with some and in disagreement with other either ways.

OK mr atheist.

>Sorry, the "white people" panel gets demolished on the next page
It unironically makes it worse.
I don't even know the context of the other panels, because that's when I dropped it, but there's approximately a 100% chance that you're lying about every single other instance about every single other one being "just out of context" as the first one.

The weirdest thing about this book is that he really wan its message to be heard by as many people as possible, but at the same time he is making people paying to read it. It's balanced out by the fact he wrote this book with libertarians and those don't expect to do any work for free, but still...

It does, only a mentally addled culture warrior is unable to see it, which is doubly sad when you consider we're talking about comic books here.
>it u ironically makes it worse
This is exactly what I expect every time it gets posted and you're forced to double-down on the bullshit. Again, predictable.

Serious question, because maybe I don't understand this issue too well.

Should we just allow anyone who wants to come live in the US? We already have illegal immigration, economic migrants, migrants who come illegally for free medical care, etc. I also feel that alot of illegals simply don't assimilate, or even learn english. This can be an issue when they only live in their spanish speaking communities, thus, thier children have a hard time learning schools, which then require more money from the state and funding to bring the bottom performing students up.

I mean, every country has borders and border control, and we have been hitting record numbers of migrants who have been coming in illegally, but yet, it seems everyone and the media ignores the numbers, which seem quite concerning, and simply attack Trump. I know the guy is a complete fucking ass, but he has some points regarding immigration. Am I wrong to think this?

>Random Character: liberal speech out of nowhere
>Hulk: Ok you're right but...personally I'm not invested on this cause because I'm an asshole
>wtf libtards btfo

we all know that you have both of them saved, so go blow yourself the fuck out by posting them

No, the author could be a grumpy anarchist sorcerer who hates me and I would still read it if it's good.

>I also feel that alot of illegals simply don't assimilate
that might be mostly due to the fact they have to remain hidden and not mingle. But most immigrant integrate, IMO.

>most immigrant integrate
Have you been to Germany or Sweden recently?

>Obligatory Muslims reference

It's a common method used by all political groups. You can be left or right or whatever and be respectful person with whom can converse with, but outragefags or people that only can see black and white are not.

>commit a crime
>have to hide
wow

I am European. I speak from experience. I have worked in the industry (not white-ollar, mind you). Taken formations for my jobs. Most of the North-Africa people are people who easily go to the bar with the rest of us and sit to take a beer after work.

>But most immigrant integrate, IMO.
It really depends on the groups in question.
And although South Americans don't create "no go zones", even as far up as around DC you'll see entire square miles of areas where everything suddenly turns to Spanish, and South American people everywhere, flying their flags from their shithole countries.

It should only be qualified as a misdemeanour in the first place.

>all immigrants are criminals by default
And this is why nobody takes anything you have to say seriously.

Sjws are reverse conservatives.

It's the God Emperor Damned political horseshoe.

>you'll see entire square miles of areas where everything suddenly turns to Spanish, and South American people everywhere, flying their flags from their shithole countries
Things like Little Italy and Chinatown don't exist now, apparently. And the Polish in Boston either, nor the Vietnamese... No, it's the South Americans from the shithole countries the ones who do this, I see, I understand completely.

Except we are specifically talking about illegal immigrants, clown.
It's in the name.

The concept of "illegal immigration" is flawed in first place, bozo.

So what you're saying is that the other user is right, that immigrants don't tend to integrate, and instead form their own communities which mimic where they came from... which is good if they come from decent countries, and utterly awful if they come from bad ones.

What I'm saying is that everyone indeed does it and there's nothing wrong with that at all, because it happens in every country that gets enough immigration from a country in particular. German communities exist all over South America and nobody bats an eye, same as the Chinese in Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia. Big whoop.

I live in an area with a high number of illegals. They don't speak english, and there are even second and third generation people who don't speak english. This is simply due to a few factors. They are too dependent on bilingual people, and they don't ever go outside their community of other illegals, in which they can work under the table for some places in which they would not need to learn english.
In major cites in the southern US, they are less likely to commit violent crime, but they are more likely to be uninsured, yet still drive, this is why California has the most hit and runs. I myself have been the victim in 2, and it fucking sucks.

Whether or not we support immigration, I would think that illegal immigration would be frowned upon, I mean, in that logic, every person in third world countries would love to live in the US, should we let them all in? Who would pay for them and their children?
not to mention, they are changing the communities they live in because they tend to live close together, which are causing middle class people to leave, thus the communites are becoming dangerous, and a hot spots for crime.

That happens because of a segregating mentality.

So we should stop enforcement of immigration laws?

Is this a comic about brown people good, white people baaaaaaaaad? It looks like a comic about that crap.

Like I said, it's mostly due to to them having to keep flying under the radar.

putting politics in at all is kinda meh, I'm just saying it'd feel organic if it has always been the same writer.

Not really though? Immigrants seek familiarity so they tend to group with people who share their culture, and there's nothing wrong with this. It's not like they don't integrate at all, they just don't like to lose that part of who they are. This usually only happens with first and second generation immigrants anyway, their children often leave these areas. Is honestly feels as if none of you actually had to migrate nor have any experience whatsoever with diaspora.
Americans are retarded about this so I'm gonna skip this question.

I dunno, it seems to be a good way to tell apart decent people willing to follow the established order and criminals who are ready to break the law for personal gain.

Short answer: No.

Long answer. No. We the US used to let anyone and their mom come over. As time went on they had to do some simple tests. Hell at certain points we out right encouraged immigration. Then globalization hit, US started having foreign adventures, and we realized not everyone has the memory of a goldfish and actually remembers when we fucked them over. as such it becomes necessary to filter who we let in.

Trump is a fucking idiot and most of the ideas he is trying to implement are retarded, but Congress is the one at fault for this entire mess. They've let it go on for too long, haven't put down a set process, ham string each other, and don't give time for migrants to integrate into the US. They also put no restraints on the 14th amendment or chain migration which means a shit ton of people can abuse the hell out of our welfare system simply by having children since they are full citizens at birth.

I can agree after a product is made, but if I hear about an artist whose views I do not like working on a project that isn't inherently political (Like, they just got announced they're making a cartoon or whatever), I do make judgments of the quality before it's out based on their previous experience and attitude.

For example, Sabrina Cotugno's show I know nothing about, but I'm entirely expecting it to be an even more aggressively progressive version of Steven Universe. I'll still check out the first episode just to see if my suspicions are correct, but it is difficult to 100% separate the art and the artist when we live in a world where we hear these people announcing their projects on the same Twitter dashboard where they're bitching about how Infinity War needs more queer people of color characters.

>which is good if they come from decent countries, and utterly awful if they come from bad ones.
Clearly South Americans aren't coming from good ones, because the entire excuse for flooding the country with them is "fleeing from violence", therefore their ethnic ghettos aren't good either.

>and criminals who are ready to break the law for personal gain.
It doesn't make it easy to tell apart people fleeing for their lives threats that aren't recognised by the US from actual criminals.

Sjws put politics in it the moment they want to force me to accept my white characters being turned into brown ones or when they attempt to force me to shove brown characters in my story when I want none

>US started having foreign adventures, and we realized not everyone has the memory of a goldfish and actually remembers when we fucked them over. as such it becomes necessary to filter who we let in.
Not really a necessity.

Considering I never said this, you have been arguing with yourself there.

Stay pressed, eternally triggered dumbass.

The caravan migrants fleeing violence do not come from South America.

Because you completely ignored the difference between ethnic ghettos from good countries, and ethnic ghettos from bad countries.
I'm pretty sure people don't have a problem with the ethnic ghettos of German scientists and engineers who group together, because there might be a few differences between communities like that, and illiterate criminally-inclined foreigners from certain countries with absolutely no useful skills or prospects.
