This is was never foreshadowed in the slightest. She blushed once and that's basically it.
My first thought is that maybe the censors stopped it from being more apparent, but Adventure Time managed to do basically the same thing like 10 times better and it wasn't nearly as out of the blue when PB and Marceline kissed in the finale. Is there actually a reason for this? Or did they just make it up for like the last episode?
It makes me feel good knowing Yea Forums is still sensible and understands things the way they are. I fucking loved what they did with him. Any other show of the era he'd be the bad guy, they had him get demonized in-universe for a bunch of modern-accusation bullshit and then be shown to be totally right.

but yeah they're bad writers. atla's brilliance was largely a fluke, but even in that, the romances are often fairly last minute things. i wouldn't have said maiko got much more buildup than korrasami.

The thing besides screwing over Kuvira, making Su a huge, hypocritical bitch, and last minute lesbians, is that they blow off Korra ghosting Bolin and Mako after worrying what the hell happened to her for 3 years. Team Avatar never felt like a group of friends, let alone family. All of their interactions have always felt forced.

It was the weakest way they could have dealt with it. They didn't have the balls to outright say it, neither during the actual season and much less at the end. Hell, even then they just held hands. I'm glad I didn't watch the avatar as a kid, it'd have sucked to have something I held dear being destroyed for brownie points.

I was worried because my niece was such a fan of Last Airbender she wanted to watch Korra too. Me and my brother decided to watch it with her instead of act like insecure bigots despite we hear about the lesbian thing. And we didn’t find anything that would even resemble to a romantic relationship between those girls. And obviously my niece either. We were even getting ready for a speech of acceptance about homos and so, and nothing. My niece is now 15 and we brought the topic and she just laughed because she can’t believe to the date they were in love or in a relationship.

No, true disappointment happens when you have literally spent your whole life playing FF & Yakuza.
